Maybe but there is some interesting stuff on there, like this piece on english football
http://www.arsenal-mania.com/articles/2447915/Sven-not-to-blame-for-Englands-perennial-failure.html
ladylover 08-07-2006, 10:28:AM What do you guys think about selling Fabregas and getting Baptista in return?
haha Abou Diaby tested the seats. No wonder they the biggest in the country :D
PaPaGeorGeo 08-07-2006, 10:57:AM What do you guys think about selling Fabregas and getting Baptista in return?
No Deal.
I cant see Cesc leaving while he has 3 years left on his contract, if he did leave it would be for alot of money and maybe if it was Real Madrid we would get him as well, someone said somewhere that Barca have a first option on Cesc anyway so i dont see him going to Real
Frostwolf 08-07-2006, 11:54:AM What do you guys think about selling Fabregas and getting Baptista in return?
Hell no. Fabregas is just as untouchable as Henry now.
10-hassan-10 08-07-2006, 12:36:PM I will agree there
10-hassan-10 08-07-2006, 12:41:PM lol BTW thats a class video
Bobby 08-07-2006, 02:47:PM What do you guys think about selling Fabregas and getting Baptista in return?
No. Only way Cesc will leave is if Barca come calling anyway.
Vedran-10 08-07-2006, 02:54:PM Even if we wanted him, we don't have the kind of money you'd ask for him. And even if we did, it would be foolish to spend on one player when we need defenders.
Talking about foolish, I'm sure Madrid will offer you 40-50 million for him.
PaPaGeorGeo 08-07-2006, 03:14:PM and im sure we'd reject
Is Cesc a known Barca fan? Has he stated any desire regarding returning there?
Bobby 08-07-2006, 03:23:PM ']Is Cesc a known Barca fan? Has he stated any desire regarding returning there?
Yea. He said he still follows Barca.
Socrates 08-07-2006, 03:25:PM and im sure we'd reject
Thank God, I really hope we dont spend too much on one player ( yes I know thats unlikely ). Honestly I would not pay more than 20 million euros for him so if you guys reject 40-50 million you would be doing us a favor.
arsenal_boi 08-07-2006, 03:26:PM i say sell cesc for baptista and 50 mill :P pounds that is then its maybe worth it...........maybe
That way I see no way him joining Real. I believe however, Reyes will leave. But I think van Persie is more than an able replacement.
Yossarian 08-07-2006, 03:26:PM Mother****ers What?
Socrates 08-07-2006, 03:31:PM ']That way I see no way him joining Real. I believe however, Reyes will leave. But I think van Persie is more than an able replacement.
Just because he is a Catalan makes no difference ( really I am tired of reading that ), I am sure he would play here if he had the chance. The problem with him is how much he would cost. Infact I would not even do a trade of Baptista and Cesc.
proxnet 08-07-2006, 03:57:PM i say sell cesc for baptista and 50 mill :P pounds that is then its maybe worth it...........maybe
i woulnd't want that to happen....we've already got hleb, ljungberg and rosicky who can play as CM/AM's , we even have reyes.
we need backup for gilberto. maybe Freddie Guarin ?
Crusad3r 08-07-2006, 04:24:PM There were lot of catalans playing in Real Madrid, Cesc will be love Madrid.
So far Raul was an Atletico Madrid player and supporter until he was 16 years old, then Atletico Madrid young team folded and he joined Real Madrid.
Socrates 08-07-2006, 04:37:PM Talking about foolish, I'm sure Madrid will offer you 40-50 million for him.
Actually lastest rumor I heard was that Arsenal want 30 million euros for Cesc but Calderon does not want to pay that much...
TheBlueBalla 08-07-2006, 06:09:PM He should be paying that much. 15 years of the talent that kid promises to evolve into is worth twice that.
In my opinion, though, you wont be selling Cesc at all, and definately not this summer. Leaving him a compotent DM behind him and just letting him distribute for the offense would make him a stellar player. But in my opinion, you should definately sell Reyes. Like Ronaldo or Robben, he will never be as good as he can be here in England. For a young, versatile and accomplished player like him, Id say you can get 15 million from Real
runner4life203 08-07-2006, 06:48:PM Campbell in surprise Arsenal exit
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/5161642.stm
no word on where he is going but he is leaving.
whats the surprise? wasnt he rumoured to leave before the WC? Fenerbahce
Crusad3r 08-07-2006, 08:02:PM He should be paying that much. 15 years of the talent that kid promises to evolve into is worth twice that.

Arsenal already bought a player that could be a good replacement for Cesc, Rosicky.
About Reyes, he could be nice, but its all up to Capello.
PaPaGeorGeo 09-07-2006, 01:45:AM Rosicky was Pires replacement he even said it in interviews
The exit of Campbell is no surprise, now hopefully we sign Thuram
arsenal_boi 09-07-2006, 03:09:AM yeah, wouldn't mind signing thuram but he's a bit old, djourou will get more games this season i think, he impressed me during the world cup in his substitute appearnces. i also think that if arsenal do sign baptista wenger will give him a defensive role like back in the days with vieira and gilberto. and 30 million euros is not enough for cesc, he still has like 15 years in him barring injury
TheBlueBalla 09-07-2006, 09:08:AM Arsenal already bought a player that could be a good replacement for Cesc, Rosicky.

dude your clutching at straws with this Cesc thing. Rosicky is an entirely different player.
Yeah it would be awesome for Real to get him. Id never have to worry about him in a game again. But he doesnt want out like Ronaldo. He wants to stay with the club thats turned him into a star, and thats admirable. To pry him from Wenger, you'd need like 40 million, and I doubt its happening, because your new president seems to have a brain
proxnet 09-07-2006, 12:18:PM by the looks of it ribery might come to arsenal :bob:
"I'd love to play for a big club in England - and nothing would be more ideal than to be with a French coach,'' - Ribery

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/5162534.stm
"I'm not thinking of anything other than playing for Arsenal next season," he told Mundo Deportivo newspaper.
there you go
I wouldnt look much into the Ribery stuff he was probably asked a question like Would you like to join a club with a french coach?
Frostwolf 09-07-2006, 01:14:PM I'd be happy if we got a player who could replace Gilberto (NOT Yaya Toure) and make Gil an excellent 3rd choice midfielder, because he's 30 now and making him play the amount of games he did last season would be a bit meh.
Madridistas getting desperate... Rosicky will be playing on the left.
Fabregas doesn't want to go to Madrid.
Arsenal won't sell Fabregas at this stage of his career.
End of.
Bummy_JaB 10-07-2006, 02:41:PM Today is great man. Appiah wants to play for us. So now these are possible targets: Appiah, Yaya Toure, Saviola, Ribery, and a couple more but these are the main ones that we are so close to gettin
Id go for Toure and Appiah. We really dont need Saviloa with the amount of CF we got. We do need a CD now that Campbell is gone so who knows if Wenger is even thinkin of gettin toure or appiah. Its good to see that a lot of players want to come play for the Gunners though. Who wouldnt want to play alongside a beast like Henry who deserves player of the year this term.

very true about whatever you said about fabregas. I still get annoyed when the calderon talks about his 'signings' for the coming season....it could actually lead to tempting fabregas to joining them.
"The club has got enough money to sign all the players we need,"
"We will have signed six or seven new players before August 3."
someone shuld just shut him up. (:/)
10-hassan-10 10-07-2006, 08:52:PM Arsenla need to think about a new CD IMO
Bobby 11-07-2006, 01:01:AM Arsenla need to think about a new CD IMO
A decent backup, because Toure - Senderos is going to be the pairing for a long time.
rlrao1987 11-07-2006, 01:17:AM cesc fabregas is staying with arsenal.
rosicky, ribery, saviola and many more from ghana are coming to arsenal.
arsenal will win the epl next season.
ashburton grove rocks!!!
pede54 11-07-2006, 01:19:AM Have a good season fellas, (not TOO good mind), heheheheee. Congrats on the new stadium too. I'll look forward to coming to Ashburton Grove, and I'll ask our guys not to hammer your lot too hard when we play you there. hehehehee
rlrao1987 11-07-2006, 01:20:AM by the way campbell has signed for fenerbache
PaPaGeorGeo 11-07-2006, 01:26:AM i cant see that anywhere heres a link for the Appiah thing
http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=401884&CPID=8&clid=3&lid=19&title=Ghana+star+wants+Gunners+move
rlrao1987 11-07-2006, 04:06:AM i bet that ribery is on his way to arsenal. He linked very well with henry in wc.and he said he would love to be under french manager.
arsenal_boi 11-07-2006, 05:44:AM personally i wouldn't that would just push some more youngsters down the order for an old fossil. yaya would be decent, i dont think we need saviola or ribery, and i also think djourou would be a decent enough backup for the two CB's.
Dreath 11-07-2006, 09:39:AM Nice thread.
So Cesc is staying, Campbell is gone, Davies bid put in, Ribery wants in, Buffon is a maybe and then a DMC is all we need. Maybe Yaya?
Ohh we could line up like so next season-
--------------Buffon---------------
------------(Lehmann)-------------
-Eboué--Touré---Senderos---Cole--
(Lauren)-(Davies)-(Djourou)--(Clichy)
-------------Yaya Touré------------
-------------(Gilberto)--------------
----------Fabregas--Rosicky--------
----------(Diaby)---(???)-----------
-Ribery-----------------------Reyes
-(Freddie)----------------(van Persie)
--------------Henry----------------
-------------(Adebayor)------------
If we do get that (which we won't but ya know), we'd be doing a lot better.
We'd have the best goalie and striker in the league, a much stronger midfield, solid defense and pace all round.
PaPaGeorGeo 11-07-2006, 10:34:AM Ribery is 23 and Saviola is 24 hardly fossils lol,
We need another Centre Back, one that can step in if Senderos loses form
I doubt Buffon will come here, lets not turn this into a Real Madrid thread and i dont think Yaya is up to playing that DM position, Gilberto is a better option.
Lets make lineups when we actually sign the players
Dreath 11-07-2006, 10:35:AM Thus Curtis Davies.
10-hassan-10 11-07-2006, 11:56:AM Get Appiah IMO he did really well for Ghana in WC
Dreath 11-07-2006, 05:40:PM Lehmann is f*cking mental.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=p5ZJGdtrroc
panxoman 11-07-2006, 11:38:PM In case of any doubt, Cesc confirmed this afternoon in an interview on a catalan radio, that he will stay in London.
He got a salary increase and he will stay, if nothing happens, untill 2011.

Thank you, I read about that earlier.
On the Cesc note, he will not stay forever, there's no doubt of that in my mind. But he will at least stay for 2/3 more years. And if he moves on we should get a heap load of cash for him.

i'm happy to hear that. i was just watching sky sports news and at the end they were showing the papers and it said that real madrid want to talk to arsenal about cesc sometime this week.
lets not turn this into a Real Madrid thread

Now I see why Klinsmann did what he did. You have one hell of a goalkeeper.
Bobby 12-07-2006, 07:11:AM George, Toure is #5. Can you update it?
The official site leaked squad numbers.
PaPaGeorGeo 12-07-2006, 08:57:AM yeh yeh
Javier Saviola's agent claims that his client is weighing up a number of potential options with regards to a move away from Barcelona.
Alfredo Cabrera Brizuela said: "He will make his decision based on football and that points to the Gunners.
"He will have no problem playing in England because he is world-class and will be successful in any country.
"This week is very important because he wants to have a holiday knowing he has his future sorted out."
Saviola was voted 1999 South American Player of the Year.
Im not sure if i want him, i want to see Van Persie and Reyes if he stays shine, if he comes it will be hard.
Bilo90 12-07-2006, 09:11:AM reyes was pretty quiet for us after the first few games of the season.. saviola can be a good replacement if we do sell reyes
PaPaGeorGeo 12-07-2006, 09:26:AM yeh, although i like Reyes :(
Dreath 12-07-2006, 12:01:PM Wenger- Fabregas Is Not For Sale
In light of recent media reports concerning the future of Cesc Fabregas, manager Arsène Wenger has spoken to Arsenal.com.
“I would like to make it clear that Cesc Fabregas is not for sale and we will not be listening to any offers for him,” he said.
“Since making his first-team debut nearly three years ago, Cesc has progressed remarkably well, with his performances rightfully earning him a place in the Spain World Cup squad.
“At 19 years old, Cesc represents the future of Arsenal Football Club and we are looking forward to him being a major part of our plans for many years to come.”

PaPaGeorGeo 12-07-2006, 02:45:PM Arsenal teenager Nicklas Bendtner is in the dark regarding a possible move to Rangers.
The Scottish giants are keen to sign the Danish striker on a season-long loan and have registered their interest.
But The Gers are uncertain if Arsenal are willing to sanction the 18-year-old's move north of the border for the entire campaign.
With the situation waiting to be resolved, Bendtner's agent Thomas Bendtner revealed he has barely heard a whisper from either club.
"We have not heard anything serious, neither from Rangers, nor from Arsenal," he told BT.
"We are waiting for confirmation."
A year away could be very good for him, especially under Paul Le Guen who is hopefully the man who will lead us after the Wenger era
Frostwolf 12-07-2006, 02:48:PM Senderos is now #6. (H)

I don't want Bedtner to go on loan, he could end up doing a Bentley and leaving for first team football. He's too good to do that.
PaPaGeorGeo 12-07-2006, 03:12:PM Senderos is now #6. (H)
He was born to wear that number.
George, update accordingly please (H)
why did i volunteer for this :( lol seriously who looks at the first page after a week.
Dreath if hes good enough to get first team football at Arsenal he will get it, if hes not then oh well, wenger knows, if you look at the youngsters we have let go eg Pennant, Bentley, Sidwell none of them have gone on to become superstars
Dreath 12-07-2006, 03:28:PM But Bendtner is a very good young player. He has all the makings for a great player, strong, great feet, good in the air, and scores goals. He's also down to Earth and works very hard. I don't want to lose him.
Frostwolf 12-07-2006, 04:06:PM Now I really have a dilemma.
Two of these three:
Fabregas 4
Toure 5
Senderos 6
It'd be funny if people buy a Toure 5 and then later we sign Yaya. (H)
Fabregas for me, no second thoughts.
Id also get van Persie 11 (H)

I agree. I f*cking hate buying English players, they're such a rip off.
yeah, and whats worst for English clubs is that they are criticized for not doing so. Check Carrick, £15m? Alan Shearer cost that much.
PaPaGeorGeo 13-07-2006, 03:14:PM Yeh, although it be a shame for him to go to spurs.
It be alright if we payed 5 mill upfront then the rest after appearances, including international ones

Theo Walcott's agent says the Arsenal starlet will not be going out on loan from the North London side this season.
Recent reports had suggested that The Gunners were willing to use the prospect of loaning one of the country's brightest talents to help convince West Brom to sell highly-rated stopper Curtis Davies, whilst fellow Championship side Norwich City were also linked with a move for the lightning quick forward.
Walcott is still waiting for his senior Arsenal debut after joining Arsene Wenger's side from Southampton in January, and after his non-appearance at the World Cup finals his prospective Gunners bow could have been delayed further by a loan spell to gain experience.
However the prodigious 17-year-old's agent, Warwick Horton, has poured cold water on suggestions that Walcott could be farmed out next season.
"I am in regular touch with Arsenal and there has never once been a suggestion of Theo going out on loan," Horton told The Daily Express.
"He has learnt an awful lot since joining the club and was delighted Thierry Henry signed a new contract because he loves working with him in training.
"He is looking forward to starting the new season at the new Emirates Stadium and there is no reason why that won't happen."
Arsenal's first game of the new season is against Aston Villa on August 19, and Walcott will be hoping the first competitive game at The Emirates Stadium also marks his first appearance in the club's colours after making the bench for a number of UEFA Champions League games last season.

Arsenal have bolstered their squad with the signing of two highly-rated youngsters, winger Vincent van den Berg and defender Joe O'Cearuill.
van den Berg, who signs from Dutch team Heerenveen, had been linked with the Gunners earlier this year, but has only now signed a contract. The young winger played for Holland in the U17 World Championship last October and impressed with his performances.
O'Cearuill joins from Watford, and actually spent some time with Arsenal's reserve team last season. He will be hoping to gain some precious first team football with the departure of Sol Campbell.
Both players have been named in the squad that will play Barnet at Underhill on Saturday.

Dreath 15-07-2006, 11:51:PM Wenger warning for Cole
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger feels Ashley Cole would be better served to concentrate on his football rather than airing his dirty linen in public.
Cole whipped up a storm on Saturday morning when excerpts from his upcoming book were published in a national newspaper.
The England defender hit out at Arsenal, claiming they 'hung me out to dry, using me as a scapegoat to get back at Chelsea' over the controversy surrounding his meeting with The Blues last year.
Cole's future as an Arsenal player is now in doubt again and although Wenger admits he would like to keep the left back in North London, the Frenchman feels his charge needs to focus on his duties as a footballer.
"I don't like it when there is too much in the newspapers," Wenger told Sky Sports News. "Football players are there to play football and not to talk too much."
Responding to questions about Cole's future, Wenger added: "He has two years on his contract at Arsenal and unless we sell him he has a future at Arsenal.
"I want him to stay, but there are three parties to have to want that.
"Nothing is decided yet on that front and he is an Arsenal player like everybody else."
Wenger feels that, in time, Cole will look back on his Arsenal career with affection.
"With Ashley Cole, when one day he looks back on his career he will see Arsenal has helped him a lot and he is intelligent enough to make the difference," said Wenger.
"I feel time selects what is important and what is not important."
Link (http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=403369&CPID=8&clid=3&lid=2&title=Wenger+warning+for+Cole)
Wenger also came out and said there will be at least one more signing.

proxnet 16-07-2006, 12:32:PM Sell cole for 16 mil. or whatever...either use clichy or buy chivu. even reto zeigler looks promising...he can be clichy's backup ?
PaPaGeorGeo 16-07-2006, 01:45:PM Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Arsenal are unlikely to raid Juventus.
A feeding frenzy has been predicted at the Turin giants, following their demotion to Serie B.
It has not taken long for many English sides to be linked with a move for some of Juventus' top men - and the likes of Patrick Vieira, David Trezeguet and Gianluigi Buffon have been linked with Arsenal.
However, Wenger insist that their wages will stay be beyond The Gunners
"We cannot afford to do it which is why we are not overly concerned with what is going on at Juventus," said Wenger.
"It is very unlikely we will make a move for the players because the wages are too high for us.
"What has happened in Italy will inevitably disturb the market because you have a lot of players who come on to the market but don't forget the players of Juventus are very well paid and not many clubs in the world can afford to pay this kind of wages."
Makes sense really, the only player we'd be after would be Buffon, but obviously hes hot property and we wouldnt be able to compete with Milan
Yossarian 16-07-2006, 01:55:PM Is Arsene able to grow a moustache?

Dreath 16-07-2006, 04:09:PM On the left back front we hiave Armand Traoré, who is 16/17 and according to sources is already first team material, hope to see him this year.
PaPaGeorGeo 17-07-2006, 08:44:AM Just like Pennant was going to be the next big thing.
If we sell Cole and dont replace him, ill be annoyed i dont want to see Cygan playing left back
PaPaGeorGeo 17-07-2006, 09:56:AM Arsene Wenger has definitively stated that Arsenal are 'not interested' in Argentine World Cup forward Javier Saviola, although the Frenchman admits he is an admirer of West Brom's Curtis Davies.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of names over the summer having already captured Tomas Rosicky, and Saviola has featured heavily after his agent Alfredo Cabrera Brizuela claimed the London side were keen to sign his client from Barcelona.
The tricky striker impressed during the World Cup finals and has also been linked with Bolton and Newcastle, but Wenger has now poured cold water on suggestions that The Emirates Stadium could be the player's destination, highlighting the extensive attacking options already at his disposal.
"We are not interested in Saviola at all," said Wenger in The Guardian.
"I have enough forward players.
"We have bought Rosicky. We have [Freddie] Ljungberg, [Robin] van Persie, [Jose Antonio] Reyes, [Thierry] Henry, [Emmanuel] Adebayor, [Theo] Walcott, [Nicklas] Bendtner, [Jeremie] Aliadiere and [Arturo] Lupoli.
"Where do I put the strikers?"
Whilst Wenger is happy with his forward options, a new defender is certainly a priority after Sol Campbell's exit and the uncertainty over Ashley Cole's future.
A number of injuries have also left the Arsenal backline creaking, and to that end Wenger has admitted he is a confirmed fan of West Brom stopper Curtis Davies.
However The Baggies are determined to keep hold of the stopper, with Wenger describing their asking price of £10 million as "too high", and Arsenal are yet to make a formal approach for the former Luton Town man.
"We still want to strengthen our squad at the back," Wenger added.
"We have lost [Philippe] Senderos now for the next three months and we have injuries. [Johan] Djourou has been injured. [Gael] Clichy is injured.
"At the back, if we can find one player who can play centre back, left back, then we are still open.
"I have not made an inquiry and I have not made a bid but I like Curtis Davies."
The Gunners have inevitably been linked with the potential sales emanating from the Italian match-fixing scandal, with Juventus stars Gianluigi Buffon and Lilian Thuram in particular rumoured to be targets.
However, Wenger has previously intimated that wage demands will rule Arsenal out of the race, and the former Monaco boss believes there will be little possibility of loan deals with the Bianconeri.
"They are in Serie B, with a 30-points deduction. That means, in fact, Serie C.
"I cannot see their interest in having a team that are all above 30. I cannot see what kind of interest they could have to keep players out on loan.
"When they come back to them, if they make it in two years, they could be finished."
Although new faces are needed at The Gunners, one of Wenger's primary summer objectives will be to keep hold of unhappy defender Cole.
The England international is rumoured to be interesting a number of Europe's top sides after criticising the club in his upcoming book, but Wenger still believes he can keep the flying left back at the club after convincing captain Thierry Henry to stay over the summer.
"When he (Cole) comes back, I feel the most important (thing) is to work hard and not to talk too much, because football is less about talking and more playing and showing how good you are.
"We have shown many times that we can keep our best players when we want to. We showed that with Henry.
"When he looks back one day, he will see that Arsenal have helped him."

Hmmm, given your managers recent transfer history, I think we can safely say that Zambrotta is out of the question. In fact, if Zambrotta had a 12 year old son, Wenger would probably buy him. Or you know what, why don't you see if the Barca youth academy has a good 15 year old left back, he might work well for you as well! Actually that Traore kid sounds like a plan as well come to think of it (is he Djimi's little brother?) ! :funny:

Barca has one of the biggest and most famous youth academies in the world. Obviously, all of them won't stay with us. They're young, they get more money from leaving, and since its their parents that make the descisions, they sometimes take it. Well you know what, screw them. They'll grow up and realize that they might have been playing with the greatest team in Europe, but instead, they'll be stuck at the kindergarten in Emirates stadium. Their loss, not ours.
This guy is jealous we got Fabregas one of his own and he is stuck with the cheap and cheating deco.
Awwwwwwwwwwww poor me! :boohoo:
I'd rather have Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, and Oleguer, all who also came from our youth academy, than Mr. Fabregas and that other kid. And there will be many more that rise up and play for the first team, no doubt about that. The sad thing is that one of the best players on your team learned everything he knew at Barcelona. And Deco is leagues ahead of Fabregas, thats not even a comparision!
Good luck to you though, hope the new and improved Chelsea don't steam roll your schoolboy team too badly this year :ewan:

PaPaGeorGeo 19-07-2006, 08:30:AM Arsenal young gun Nicklas Bendtner is desperate to play first team football and says he will leave the club if not included in the squad for the coming season.
The Danish 18-year-old striker has been left in the dark over his status, which has sparked rumours about where his future lies.
He was a fringe player for the reserves last season, but is unwilling to continue in the same vain again in the coming campaign.
"We are anxiously waiting to see the squad," the player's agent Thomas Bendtner said to BT.
"It is very important for Nicklas, but one thing is certain and that is that he will play first team football this season.
"In case he is not in the squad, we will look at other alternatives."
Rangers have been linked with a season-long loan deal for the player in the past, and it may be that Arsene Wenger allows his youngster to grow across the border before unleashing him on The Premiership.

PaPaGeorGeo 21-07-2006, 02:56:PM Young Arsenal defender Kerrea Gilbert has joined Cardiff City on a season-long loan deal.
Arsenal have handed a trial to Hungarian hot shot Adam Dudas, skysports.com can reveal.
The 18-year-old Gyor ETO striker is seen as one of the best young players in his homeland and the likes of Ajax and Internazionale have also been alerted to his progress.
However, Arsene Wenger - who delights in grooming young talent from around the world before launching them into The Premiership - has made his move and is now at the head of the queue for his signature.
Dudas, who featured for Hungary during this summer's European Under-17 Championship, is now on his way to London to undertake a 10-day trial period.
"He is one of the stars of the Hungarian Under-17 side and it was from there that he impressed the Arsenal scouts," his agent Sandor Varga confirmed to skysports.com.
"He has offers for trial from Internazionale and Ajax, but his dream is to go to Arsenal.
"His whole family support the club and it is The Premiership, he would rather play there ideally than somewhere like Serie A."
Varga, though, admitted that Dudas is far from guaranteed a contract at The Emirates Stadium.
"It will be very hard, there is a high demand at Arsenal, and many talented young players have not been able to win deals," he added.
"It is an achievement just to get an invite from Arsenal, to have a trial there is something special as they are such a wonderful club."

Dreath 22-07-2006, 11:47:PM To be fair it's not hard to be better than a team consisting of one and a half first team players.
Silencer 22-07-2006, 11:57:PM Well I was very happy with our team performance, a great team we have now with Jaap Stam in the back (Y)
Yossarian 23-07-2006, 12:28:PM His daughter has got great potential.........
I think Flamini and Clychi is very nice. And Ca$hley is a Judas to me.
PaPaGeorGeo 25-07-2006, 11:36:AM Cashley is apparently going to move to Chelsea for some money, we want 25 million pounds
there is no release clause is Cashleys contract
Yossarian 25-07-2006, 12:59:PM Mourinho isn't interested in 'em because Mourinho doesn't bother with signing midgets for his flank positions.
Bummy_JaB 26-07-2006, 02:28:AM Cole should be appologizing to the fans for what he did instead of insulting Arsenal. That little WANKER either needs to shut his trap and play football or move on and rot to some other team like so many other Arsenal players have done in the past.
Silencer 26-07-2006, 09:21:AM Wow that's some story about Cole and Chelsea :p
Stabbing Arsenal in the back and disrespecting the club and the fans, that's what it sounds like to me anyway
Bergkamp now that's a clubman, he even bought his own skybox in the Emirates Stadium to never miss an Arsenal game ;)
Cole should take an example, now that's what I call HEART for the club! (Y)

PaPaGeorGeo 27-07-2006, 11:28:PM Birmingham City will take Arsenal midfielders Sebastian Larsson and Fabrice Muamba on loan this season after a deal was struck today.
Muamba, 18, and Larsson, 21, will join the Blues on season-long loan deals. Both have been part of Arsenal's preseason preparations.
Brum manager Steve Bruce said: "You can't have a big enough squad and as things stand at the minute, we're a little bit thin.
"Fabrice is very highly regarded. He is a bit of a Patrick Vieira kind, he is strong, can win the ball and get up and down.
"I'm still trying to bring in two or three players on top of the Arsenal lads. It's no secret we're after a striker."
Want to find out more?
Good Experience for the lads
Yossarian 28-07-2006, 03:19:PM I have vowed to breast feed all the starving children of Africa, if we're able to get rid of Cole the pole smoker for 20 million or more.

adj137 30-07-2006, 12:56:PM http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/5228478.stm
to be honest Reyes has lately been a peripheral figure in the arsenal team.
if they get good money from him i don't think that many people will be upset.
PaPaGeorGeo 30-07-2006, 01:18:PM Reyes is a great lad and who ever gets him will be happy with him. He hasnt fit in, the language the weather, it hasnt worked for him. Although he has played pretty well for us, he will never forfill his enormous potential here.
At least we should be able to get our money back for him + a little more or a player eg Baptista.
Bummy_JaB 30-07-2006, 11:34:PM With the CL qualifiers coming up in about a week we REALLY need to solve the whole COLE situation ASAP... They need to release the little beyatch or let everyone know he will be a gunner for the rest of the season.
The Reyes reports were all rubbish cause he said it himself.
Arent u all worried that Wenger is relying on Cygan and Djirou for the first 3 months of the season. That is just terrifying stuff.
Jaouadinho 31-07-2006, 12:52:AM cygan and djouro that is scary.
but with arsen wenger u never know.

Dreath 31-07-2006, 04:16:PM Hi everyone, I'm in St lucia right now thus the lack of my knowledge flowing through these forums...
Anyway, Ashley is a c*nt, 25 mill from Chelsea will do me nicely. On the centreback note, if worst comes to the worst Tour and Djourou will do fine. Djourou is someone I rate extremely highly, 19 years old, played in a world cup, fast, strong, good in the air. Really a great backup for Toure but he'll make do as a partner, we still should sign someone. But who? Centrbacks of high quality are never cheap, because high quality ones which are consistant are rare, Davies for 10 mll would of ben about 7 mill too much and he's sigbned a new deal at West Brom (SUCH AMBITION!), Mexes, Chivu and so on will cost too much with Roma in the CL now. So I really don't know, in Wenger we trust.
My biggest worry is central midfield, no sign of anyone coming in. MAybe Wenger jsut wants the Cashley C*nt situation to resolve itself, reasses the money situations and then go and buy someone. In all honesty, any half decent big f*ck off midfielder will do for me right now, Appiah, Yaya, Mascherano (please God please), anyone. I'm just glad we didn't spend 18 million on the most overrated one trick pony called Michael Carrick.
As left backs go, Clichy will do ok, but I think he's injured, I hope Flamini will suffice for cover and between Flamini, Clichy and Traore we should manage to get a good left back, which would of cost us under 1 million for all 3 players (Clichy and Traore were free, Flamini 500k in compensation), so we make a 24.5 million pound profit in the left back situation.
It seems we're not giving up on Ribery either, which is good I guess, but I'd rather we sorted out a central midfielder than go for a luxury player like him. But if we come out of this summer with Ribery, Rosicky, a CM and a CB I'll be very happy. Anyway my internet cafe time is coming to an end. Toodles.
PaPaGeorGeo 31-07-2006, 11:33:PM Apparently with Ribery, he is going to stay where he is for one more season then come to us.
Gunners move for Ghana ace
rsenal have taken Ghana World Cup star Shilla Illiasu on trial.
The 23-year-old featured in all four of The Black Stars' games at the finals in Germany - starting the last three of them.
The central defender shone in Germany and his performances caught the attention of Arsene Wenger and his scouts.
Illiasu's club Kumasi Asante Kotoko have confirmed that Illiasu is on his way to London to link-up with The Gunners.
Arsenal have excellent contacts in Africa and now they have agreed a deal with Kotoko - which sees Illiasu arriving for a trial spell.
The highly-rated stopper will get the chance over the next few days to try and convince Wenger that he is worthy of a move to The Premiership.
Reports from Africa suggest Kotoko would allow Illiasu to leave for around $1 million (£500,000).

heh 10 million for davies, 500k for someone who has played at the world cup. I dont like having too many Africans though, they all piss of in January every other year.
Did someone see him play in the world cup?
SlowSilver 31-07-2006, 11:40:PM Apparently with Ribery, he is going to stay where he is for one more season then come to us.

PaPaGeorGeo 31-07-2006, 11:47:PM http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=406702&CPID=24&clid=3&lid=&title=Lyon+refuse+to+quit+on+Ribery
Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has stepped up the pressure on Marseille to sell Franck Ribery, at a time when the player has returned to pre-season training to meet l'OM officials.
The French international attracted interest from across Europe after helping Les Bleus win their way to the World Cup final in Germany this summer.
The Ligue 1 champions have continued to insist their interest in signing the player to replace his international team-mate Sidney Govou.
Reports suggest that Ribery will stay at the club for another season before making a move to Arsenal, but the Stade de Gerland supremo has once again appealed to his opposite number at Marseille to keep the attacker on home soil.
"To be a good chairman means to be able to make a good capital gain for Franck, and that way sign players that l'OM need," Aulas explained.
"I am relying on the wisdom of Pape Diouf. But if Ribery doesn't come we have Sidney.
"But for him, we are in talks with a French club and several foreign clubs. So anything can still happen."
Ribery is set to meet with the chairman on Monday for the first time since the end of last season.
He is expected to demand the club show more ambition in the transfer market to convince him that the team will be able to challenge for UEFA Champions League football in the coming season.
Just a rumor really
SlowSilver 31-07-2006, 11:49:PM Ah, well if you did get him, he'd be a great signing. He's proved himself on the world stage.
PaPaGeorGeo 31-07-2006, 11:52:PM yeh although i can only see him coming if Reyes goes
Num Lock 01-08-2006, 03:38:AM Pape Diouf is an ass, l'OM in general has been a nest for ppl only interested in themselves but Ribéry should be let go, our whole league is not what it used to be in the 90s, except for maybe Lyon, l'OM is never gonna be decent, ever.
Socrates 01-08-2006, 03:56:AM yeh although i can only see him coming if Reyes goes
Speaking of Reyes, AS interviewed him and he siad that he did make those comments about him being happy at Arsenal. But he also said its no secret that he dreams of a move to Real Madrid and also says that he does not know whats going on because his agent handels these types of situations...more like he does want to say too much, how can you not know what your agent is doing?
So whats the news on Cole? Last I heard is that Wenger would rather sell him to us rather than Chelsea and that his price will be 18 million euros? I dont know about that price it seems too cheap, as for Wenger perfering to sell him to us I can see that.

Wow nice replay :boohoo: I would be happy if he stays in Arsenal, no need for him at Madrid as I posted when the rumor first came out about him.
Yea AS is not 100% reliable but those fake news reporters that tricked Reyes are haha (6) :) I am not trying to be an ass but its no secret that he seems to want a move.
PaPaGeorGeo 01-08-2006, 07:11:AM A spanish player that doesnt play for Barca having a dream of playing for Real Madrid, that is no surprise
Vedran-10 01-08-2006, 11:04:AM Reyes is fond of Real Madrid. We don't need AS for an information like that. I could see him in Madrid.
arsenal_boi 01-08-2006, 12:28:PM He wouldn't look out of place in a madrid shirt, he's a good player but i don't like the amount of times he falls over if he stayed on his feet he'd be a much better player. but anyway my verdict let him go if a good enough offer comes in
Vedran-10 01-08-2006, 12:39:PM Reyes is quality, but his talents would be wasted in Madrid because he wouldn't get a lot of playing time, with Ronaldo, Robinho, Cassano, Beckham, Ruud and Baptista in the team.
arsenal_boi 01-08-2006, 03:26:PM Reyes would play on left???
he'd get game time i'd liek to think
fatty should leave so that would leave robinho and ruud upfront
ColumbusGunners 01-08-2006, 07:43:PM What do you guys think of a player/cash deal with chelsea
Cole for Gallas plus $
How do you rate Gallas
Would Chelsea send us Gallas
Dreath 01-08-2006, 07:54:PM Gallas being Chelsea's second best defender, and one of the best in Europe, easily in the top 5. I'd take that deal in a heartbeat, but Chelsea aren't stupid enough to sell.
arsenal_boi 02-08-2006, 08:39:AM i wouldn't agree that deal personally, Gallas would want to play CB, so that would put senderos and djourou down the order who need games to fulfill their potential, so i would prefer a cash deal for cole and use that money to buy a young decent defender, thats my opinion anyway
PaPaGeorGeo 02-08-2006, 08:48:AM Gallas isnt going to be sold to us by Chelsea stop dreaming
The only way he will come to us is on Bosman but even then I think he would go to Milan or Barca
arsenal_boi 02-08-2006, 02:44:PM sign lucas neill :P

How so, at first I was under the impression that he is not needed but honestly we dont really have a left winger ( sure Robinho or Cassano can play ) but with all the games its not a bad idea to have him here aslong as the price is right.

Will you need a winger?
I may be mistaken, but I think I've read somewhere that Capello won't use wingers.
It just seems too much. You have players for that position, and as the list of your offensive players goes through my head, it just seems overloaded with Reyes. Two people are enough for one position, IMO.
So you have Robinho and Cassano. Beckham will play RW, and you're left with Ruud, Ronaldo and Raul upfront. You could have Robinho and Raul as LW, Beckham and Cassano RW, and Ruud and Ronaldo FW. Seems quite good, and sufficient, even for three competitions. Plus, those players can switch positions, can't they?
Didn't Raul use to play at the left?
Maybe I'm forgetting someone

Not sure about that. Right now we have this
RW - Robinho and Beckham
AM/SS - Raul, Baptista, Robinho, and Cassano
LW - Cassano and no real backup for him ( yes Robinho can play here )
We have too many SS's as you can see. Neither Cassano or Robinho are wingers but I think we will play some sort of a 4-3-3. So Robinho on the right and Cassan on the left is perfect for that imo. With Raul or Baptista in the middle. Now if Robinho and Cassan are the starters for the outside than we have Beckham and Juanfran ( both RW's ) so having Reyes would be another option on the left and he would fit into this very nicely imo.
Yes he did play the left but he is not so fast to be playing there.
Another point is that I think Capello wants to make sure he has a full deck of cards. If one player is doing bad he wants to be able to switch him with a another very good player. This also brings in a lot of competition in the squad. Thats just what I think, I think he wants to make sure he has a team that he thinks is capable of winning something.
Vedran-10 04-08-2006, 02:07:PM Well, either way, looks like you will have Reyes. He said he didn't want to play against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, because it could ruin his chance to join RM.

Yea thats what I have read. Him saying the chance to play here is unique and that he wants it go get resovled quickly so he wont have to play against Dinamo Zagreb.
Will be nice to see Sevillista with more love around us:D, if the move does happen.
PaPaGeorGeo 04-08-2006, 03:23:PM Surprisingly Sebastian Larsson and Nicklas Bendtner have gone to the blues on loan.
Nicklas Bendtner is going there till Jan
Vedran-10 04-08-2006, 03:38:PM It's good for Dinamo.
If Dinamo ever have a shot at eliminating Arsenal from anything, it's now. It's unlikely, but possible.
Yossarian 04-08-2006, 03:39:PM This is good.......I think that they both stand a good chance of getting a lot of playing time.
A partnership of Forssell and Bendtner would be very interesting
Dreath 04-08-2006, 04:11:PM Toodles Reyes. I always liked you, but sell him and buy Ribery for minimum loss and it'll be a good deal.

adj137 04-08-2006, 06:24:PM Been watching the AZ game and so far after 24 minutes Reyes and Flamini have been diabolical,

The Arsenal trouble makers can't possibly induce more trouble than the Bad Blue Boys. Those six hundred will be there to watch over the BBB, not the Gooners. The four policemen won't make any difference. If Arsenal fans start making problems, they'll be eaten alive after the game by the BBB. These are not the kind of fans you watch everywhere else in Europe. Problems with "fans" are common here. I just hope the English don't tick those morons off.

he is a good player, thats true. look at the scorelines on those highlights tho. 2:4, 2:5, 3:0, etc. Dinamo is way above anyone in the league, atleast they were last year.

Looks like Reyes is madridista. I don't know if it's a good thing...

For us.
Stotty 08-08-2006, 08:03:PM Croatia is nice this time of year (H)
$teauA 08-08-2006, 08:51:PM 0-0 at HT
how's the flow of the match?
Vedran-10 08-08-2006, 08:52:PM I'm very pleased with the way Dinamo has confronted Arsenal.
Luka Modrić is easily the best player of the first half.
steaua, it's a nice match to watch, but there weren't a lot of good chances. Arsenal had some, but they didn't threaten Turina seriously. Van Persie wasted a great FK chance by blasting it to the stands. I only saw Cesc once.
Dinamo are obviously looking weaker, but they are doing a better match than I expected. Modrić is quality and we're waiting for Dudu to start playing. The full backs are not very good. I think that, if Dinamo continue like this, they'll get a positive result.
Screw Arsenal (H)
Go Modrić :rockman:
Stotty 08-08-2006, 09:20:PM to be honest....arsenal aren't looking crackin. I'd be scared with the defence at the moment if i was a fan. No REAL chances for either team reallly.
Stotty 08-08-2006, 09:26:PM 1-0 Fibreglass. Good finish.
edit: 2-0 Rapist.
Vedran-10 08-08-2006, 09:32:PM :kader:
Congrats to Arsenal. They're through
Dinamo played a good 60 minutes (Y)
Nowotny was good.
Cesc's goal was nice, but it was the defense's mistake. Van Persie's goal never should have happened.
Bobby 08-08-2006, 09:42:PM 3-0, Fabregas :)
I want Cesc :(
Flamini and Aliadiere are in :o
Eng4WorldCup 08-08-2006, 09:49:PM reyes leaving maybe :boohoo:

Vedran-10 08-08-2006, 09:51:PM Cesc ript it up in the second half. Great performance.
