sucks honestly.
The likes of Miguel, Podolski not picked.
Dont know how Toni and Figo got in there.
Virgo 07-07-2006, 06:50:PM Totti
Jannes 07-07-2006, 06:51:PM Luca Toni?
JJSFC 07-07-2006, 06:51:PM Henry, Ballack, Totti, Toni and Ze Roberto were all average :|
Johnny_Big 07-07-2006, 06:51:PM Totti there is a joke right?
Jannes 07-07-2006, 06:53:PM *waiting for a post from mikey*
MaSsiVe 07-07-2006, 06:54:PM Henry, Ballack, Totti, Toni and Ze Rpberto were all average :|
fully agree.
Miguel deserved a spot.
Podolski was crap so I don't see why he should be there.
Virgo 07-07-2006, 06:56:PM Maxi Rodriguez? Miguel? Frings? Mertesacker?
These FIFA sh*t awards based on reputation make me want to puke.
Jannes 07-07-2006, 06:59:PM they want big names in the all star team.... :-puke:
Virgo 07-07-2006, 07:04:PM I bet if Ronaldinho had made two or three more dribbles he'd be on the team as well.
I disagree with Henry, Ballack, Totti, Toni, and Ze Roberto. I am also suprised that Figo is there also.
ShearerM4 07-07-2006, 07:10:PM Even John Terry is pushing it, it's all FIFA corporate-tastic anyway.
JJSFC 07-07-2006, 07:13:PM I bet if Ronaldinho had made two or three more dribbles he'd be on the team as well.
Probably :D
ShearerM4 07-07-2006, 07:21:PM I bet if Ronaldinho had made two or three more dribbles he'd be on the team as well.
it's quite amazing to think he's not in the team. All he probably needed to be in it was score one, or set up one, or do one amazing dribble.
Just shows how rubbish Brazil were.
RuiCosta_10 07-07-2006, 07:49:PM Where is Pauleta?
Johnny_Big 07-07-2006, 07:51:PM Where is Pauleta?
That was quite funny :junior:
Where is Pauleta?
What did he do to even have his name mentioned in this discussion?
Vinnie Jones 07-07-2006, 07:57:PM I think he was being sarcastic or...well if we use Fifa´s criteria he could have been there :fool:
RuiCosta_10 07-07-2006, 07:58:PM Both Vinnie...
Gene Reginato 07-07-2006, 08:03:PM Zé Roberto was amazing... without him Brazil would get screwed much sooner.
teccomin 07-07-2006, 08:39:PM oh come on... MARQUEZ!! and how come there arnt any argentinian midfielders?
Drvar 07-07-2006, 09:07:PM Ze Roberto made alot of cruical last-moment tackles saving Brazil in every game.
but, Toni? jesus christ. even Ronaldo was better than him. others that dont make sense to me are Totti and Crespo.
Mikey 07-07-2006, 09:09:PM *waiting for a post from mikey*
remember when Italy beat Germany to advance to world cup final? I do.
Although Totti had a good game against Germany and came up huge against Australia,,, he still shouldnt be there. Neither should Luca Toni...
Terry, Ballack, Crespo, Ze Roberto dont really deserve it either...
England made it QF, despite being mediocre, so i guess they felt someone had to be picked. By default i wouldve gone with Gerrard or even Beckham
I feel Ribery, Miguel, Grosso, Perrotta, Xavi and maybe Torres couldve made it
Punkt 07-07-2006, 09:17:PM This FIFA technical comitee must be a bunch of alcoholics. Totti? omg :X
donovan929 07-07-2006, 09:55:PM Gattuso? You're having a laugh
teccomin 07-07-2006, 10:04:PM from eurosports.com
the computer selected best 11 based on the total number of matches played and average statistics for each match:
Buffon
Cannavaro, Lahm, Zambrotta, Abidal
Maniche, Gattuso, Zidane, Frings
Klose, Villa
theres no human subjectivity involved in this selection.
Moratti1 07-07-2006, 10:07:PM Gattuso? You're having a laugh
Gattusso deserves to be there 100%... He has a certain role on the team that he plays better than any other player can do... He disrupts the opposing midfielder better than anyone. I look forward to watching him do his job against Zidane...
Jannes 07-07-2006, 10:16:PM [QUOTE=Mikey]remember when Italy beat Germany to advance to world cup final? I do.
/QUOTE]
yeah i do. i thought you say "totti, whoah! 100% deserved it" perrota? not really.
but like morrati said, gattuso deserved it 100%.
Ribery deserves to be in that list. Also, i think Lucio had a very good performance on this WC, being one of the few players that dont deserve any kind of criticism.
Parra Power 08-07-2006, 07:30:AM Terry, Carvalho but no Lucas Neill????? Do they even watch the games? http://mods.soccergaming.tv/%7Eiceblu/Ice/rolleyes.gif
Pizarro14 08-07-2006, 07:40:AM What about the 2 CB's from Ecudaor? what about the GK from T&T? Another popularity contest :|
JJSFC 08-07-2006, 09:09:AM Terry, Carvalho but no Lucas Neill????? Do they even watch the games? http://mods.soccergaming.tv/%7Eiceblu/Ice/rolleyes.gif
Lucas Neill was a rock at the back, FIFA are a bunch of retards on valium.
BenBeckham 08-07-2006, 11:04:AM It's a joke like most ManOftheMatch Winners !
Don't get me wrong all great players but forexample
is Thierry Henry having a good World Cup ?
Also did Terry have one?!
surely not. I mean the only english players that came back with some positives from that World Cup was Hagreaves, Lennon.
Where is Kaka?
Why is Totti in it, appart from the Pen what exactly did he do so good to be in the AllStar team?
Its all typical FIFA bollocks again.
ausbarca 08-07-2006, 11:15:AM well i thjink they've got some players right but others...
Bummy_JaB 08-07-2006, 01:12:PM Henry is doing decent. 3 goals(1 to knockout brazil) and he is playing with the same achillies injury he has had over the years. He might not start the season for Arenal. I read this on arsenal mania somewhere. I agree he has not played at his best but there are other 'stars' that have been far worse than the gunner galactico.
ps- not to mention the PK he got for france against Portugal. He prob woulda scored if he took it.
Fernandez 08-07-2006, 01:21:PM No Cristiano Ronaldo in there? I'm disappointed.
rony31 08-07-2006, 01:23:PM haha, typical FIFA with their **** picks based on popularity
MiCk_10 08-07-2006, 02:27:PM no c ronaldo, ferdinand better than terry overall, where mascherano?maxi rodriguez, kaka?? fifa comitee is piece of shait
Lucas Neill was a rock at the back, FIFA are a bunch of retards on valium.
Or maybe they noticed that he comitted a foul that resulted in a penalty kick that resulted in Australia getting knocked out. Argue the call all you want, if he hadn't made that one poorly timed tackle it would have never happened.
As for Terry, although he wasn't spectacular, he made a couple of crucial plays that kept England's chances alive.
Personally I'd rather see some mention of Odonkor for Germany. He was electric every time he came on with the exception of the semi final.
Anybody else notice the lack of wide players on the list?
Parra Power 08-07-2006, 02:49:PM Or maybe they noticed that he comitted a foul that resulted in a penalty kick that resulted in Australia getting knocked out. Argue the call all you want, if he hadn't made that one poorly timed tackle it would have never happened.
And what??? Carvalho DIDN'T give up a penalty that got his team eliminated  Didn't stop FIFA from picking him, and his was actually a foul.
smoove 08-07-2006, 03:04:PM maybe they just picked carvalho because he's far superior to lucas neill...
Jedi Mind Trick 08-07-2006, 07:26:PM i think frings had a better world cup than ballack.
and for totti, i believe he leads the world cup in assists, so he wasn't completely useless besides the pk.
