I was thinking of creating a poll of few +30 players 2 see which was the best on this world cup but then i realized the answer is very easy...ZIDANE...So question is:

Figo was also very good. And the rest of the French old guard, Thuram, Makelele, all did their job excellently.

Del Piero did ok, but it has to be one of the remaining French players from '98.

Your missing the point, its the 30+ players who did well this World Cup, Kahn wasn't even playing.

Still, Makelele has been immense in this cup also. Oh and, Cafu was ****e.

my bad on Maka. Of the 3-4 French games ive seen this season, the midfield has worked very effeciently, but Vieira and Zidane have been put up for players of the tournament, so I guess like people do in club play, I underrated Maka.

Who wouldve thought that a French midfield with an average age of 32 would get them all the way to the final? Lets hope they bring it home tomorrow

That Tunisian GoalKeeper was absolutely awful. I didn't realise that Alex was over 30 :$ he's a class player.

One who hasn't been mentioned is Ze Roberto, who was named to the All-star squad.

Deco is turning 29 next month, he'll be almost 33 when the next world cup rolls around, he's easily the best veteran player Portugal have atm.

He was bad in the first game (against the Saudis), but he's the one who kept Tunisia in the game with Spain until they scored late in the 2nd half, and he had a good game vs Ukraine.
