Yeah it really is. I wish there was some way to buy one off the internet and have it shipped over to the US but it seems the only place I can find that even carries the official replica jerseys is the Steaua store on the main website and they only ship to Romania....(:/)

Looks like we're gonna play Gorica in the 2nd Round of the CL qualifyers. They won 3-1 away at Linfield today.

To be honest I would have preferred the British team because we always beat them but we should be the Slovenians handly although I'm always scared before these matches because we all know they should be piece of cake wins but you never know what's gonna happen. There's a chance Radoi might not be able to play the first leg. BTW is the first leg gonna be at home or away for us?

Don't know, hope the first will be played away, it's always easier to turn around a tie when you play the decisive game in front of your own fans (I want Ghencea back :(). Anyway, I'm pretty concerned about the away game, you know how teams like that are.

We're supposed to get Ghencea back in September which would mean that we would play our CL home matches there and we would also play Rapid there so hopefully Becali's word will turn to truth. What exactly are they doing anyway other than getting a brand new surface and drainage system?

Pretty crapy result today against some unknown Belgian team. It was our 2nd team playing but still 0-0 is just :|. The results in our friendlys so far do not give me any type of encouragement going into the SuperCup and first leg of the 2nd round of CL Qual. :nape:

In urma articolului "Carlos s-a imbatat in cantonament" publicat in numarul de duminica, 16 iulie 2006, al cotidianului "Evenimentul Zilei", componentii echipei FC Steaua au hotarat sa protesteze prin silenzio stampa, motivele pentru care s-a recurs la acest mod de protest fiind urmatoarele:

1. Articolul respectiv este o pura inventie, cotidianul "Evenimentul Zilei" nefiind la primul atac murdar impotriva Stelei,mai ales ca nici un reporter al cotidianului amintit nu este prezent in cantonamentul de la Mierlo.
2. Jucatorii au dorit in mod clar sa isi exprime astfel solidaritatea pentru colegul lor, cu atat mai mult cu cat el provine dintr-o tara straina.

Este regretabil ca asemenea atacuri vin dupa cel mai bun sezon avut in ultimii ani de vreo echipa romaneasca si, mai ales, inaintea unei campanii europene importante pentru Steaua si pentru fotbalul romanesc.
FC Steaua si Carlos isi rezerva dreptul de a chema in instanta cotidianul respectiv, iar echipa va iesi din silenzio stampa doar daca publicatia respectiva si celelalte mijloace mass-media care au preluat informatia falsa din "Evenimentul Zilei" isi vor prezenta public scuzele - mai ales ca majoritatea dintre ele au reprezentanti in cantonamentul echipei FC Steaua din Olanda.

Steaua - NAC Breda is currently 2-0 (1st half)

Iacob and Dica (a lob from the box margin) are the scorers. I have a feeling that both of them will have a great season together, Dica has been outstanding last season, scoring many important goals.

I'm sure we will win this match ... 2-0 at half time is a good score.
I would like to see if Gigel Coman will play in this match and if he will score.
I hope Radoi is going to be ok so he can play for us in the CL qualifying rounds.

Steaua Bucharest players and staff returned from Holland today.I think this was a goog training period for Steaua, with good games, except the one against the belgians.The good thing is that our strikers seem to be in top shape, especially Dica.Iacob seems to be getting back to his top form as well and it looks like Klemi will be fit to play in a short time.Saturday we play Rapid in the Supercup. :rockman:

GSP missed the line-ups so badly, Steaua is playing with the reserves mostly: Carlos - D. Bălan, Ghionea, Baciu, Neşu - Opriţa, Cristocea, Lovin, G. Coman - Ochiroşii, V. Badea. Half-time here, pretty good match I'd say, goal scoring oportunities for both sides, though Cristocea missed a chance with the empty goal after Nesu's cross.
Balan was really good, stopped many Rapid attacks and Nesu was active too. Ochirosii will be big, he has so much guts and he's not even 18 plus he's a hard worker. Coman came off injuried (sprained ankle I think), Para came in for him. As for Badea... he ran a lot, looked pretty good but didn't get many balls so not many chances for him.
And the ref is horrible, 7 yellow cards in a match like this is weird, he just made the atmosphere a lot more tensioned (there was a mini-row around min 40).

Our new kits look so good in game, Nike did a great job (as much as I hate them).
Can't wait for the second half!

The first half was really good for Steua, excepting the yellow cards.
We should score as fast as we can so everybody can see that even our reserves are able to beat Rapid (Rapid can't even pass by our defence :D).

This is going to extra-time, nothing special in the second half. Will keep this updated.

Carlos did good, looked pretty safe. And as I said, Balan was ok, I'd give him an 7, was active all the match and had some good clearances, he surprised me in a good way, might see much of him this season.
About the Rapid thing ... if any of their fans tell me that we were lucky in the UEFA Cup last season or any crap like that I'll just throw this match's line-up in their face (H). This is total humiliation :D.
And yeah, the font looks a bit strange, but the kit is still (Y).

I'm really feeling the CL this year. After what the players showed me last year, I believe that we are a true CL team what would compete and not bend over and take it in the ass in the groups and leave happy.

Meh we won it 2-0. Dica scored from a free-kick and Iacob with a nice header. Can't say it was a good match, we dominated it but didn't have too many scoring ocassions. The whole team looked good, Nesu surprised me in a positive way as he was really active and had a couple of good shots. And no, Marin on the right wasn't a disaster (H).

This is gonna be a tough match. You know Paltisanu will be full and their fans will be screaming their hearts out, you know Poli is poised to beat us but I think they have shown a little too much overconfidence in the press lately. I think we're gonna escape with a 2-1 victory. Once again Dica and Iacob (they are in awesome form!!) with our goals and Cristea to score for them (grr...).

Căpitanul a suferit ieri o intervenţie la nivelul meniscului extern al genunchiului drept. El nu va juca în următoarele două luni.
Plecat de luni la clinica Isokinetik din Bologna, împreună cu colegul său Gigel Coman, pentru consultaţii amănunţite, Mirel Rădoi a aflat că trebuie să se opereze.
În urma atroscopiei efectuate de către profesorul Marcacci la Institutul Risoli din Bologna, Rădoi (foto) a suferit o operaţie la meniscul extern al genunchiului drept. Site-ul oficial al campioanei României, steauafc.com, a anunţat aseară că Mirel Rădoi a început deja recuperarea sub atenta supraveghere a profesorului Nanni de la clinica Isokinetik. Căpitanul Stelei nu s-a mai putut pregăti normal de pe 3 iulie, când la o şedinţă de pregătire din cantonamentul de la Kaprun durerile au devenit insuportabile. Gigel Coman a început şi el recuperarea după entorsa la gleznă pe care a suferit-o în meciul de Supercupă cu Rapid.
După această intervenţie, mai mult ca sigur Rădoi nu va evolua în partidele din preliminariile Ligii Campionilor, atât în returul cu ND Gorica, cât şi în meciurile din turul trei preliminar. Perioada de recuperare este de cel puţin o lună. “Asta e situaţia. Trebuia de ceva vreme să se opereze. Va mai sta o lună la Bologna la recuperare. Îşi va reveni repede, pentru că el e un războinic adevărat!”, a confirmat aseară naşul Gigi Becali.

Already 2-0 up from the away leg, the Romanian champions managed to score a further three goals without reply in Bucharest despite the absence of the injured Mirel Radoi, Gigel Coman and Carlos Alberto Fernandes as well as Sorin Paraschiv, Petre Marin and Dorin Goian, who were rested for the night.

I think this says a lot about our depth, an area of our team that many believe we're not very strong in.

Ochirosii is slowly developing into a great player, he rewards Oli with his performances each time he gets enough playing time. Oh and in my opinion, the best Steaua player until now is Cristocea, he was simply great in all of our matches in this season.

Yeah Ochirosii is great (check out my latest sig in my sig thread (H)), he's gonna be a great player for us and hopefully for Romania too. As for the Poli match, yeah we should of won that but we had some bad luck, I think it was a good performance though.

Oh and I have something that I need to write down. Last night I dreamed that Steaua lost to Craiova :eek:. That's not gonna happen but let's just say I woke up and I was like "WTF!!" :D

Meh, Craiova didn't beat us at home in the last 20 years so that wouldn't be a problem. I just pray it won't be similar with the Poli match :nape:.

Ogararu played as a right back player the whole game tonight for Ajax and he did outstanding This guy can really move and turn defense into attack in the blink of an eye amazing His passes are pinpoint sharp and his technique...well let's just say he kept 3 Inter players busy but they couldn't take the ball from him.
He is clearly not only a defender but he likes to run with the ball a lot and makes himself available for other players to pass the ball.
I watched him run many times at the sidelines all the way to the front and then he gave some great passes towards goal for our strikers.
In conclusion: impressive to saw him perform live at the Amsterdam ArenA tonight, he's a great asset to the team (Y)

We're gonna play a lot of reserves but we should still win easily. Craiova is not a Liga I team.

Can't wait for the match, there should be a good atmosphere considering the rivality between the teams. I want to see Ochirosii from the first minute, he deserves it. This is what we lacked last season to reach higher levels - some options on the bench that are good enough to slide into the first eleven when needed.
As for Ogararu, good luck to him, hopefully he'll become a starter at Ajax and in the Romanian nt. He looks good in your kit :p.

What a laugher of a game, seriously Craiova should not be in Liga I :nape:. Anyway it was a good practice for us before the first real test of this season (I guess second if you want to count Timisoara).

Ogararu will be first choice for the team this year said our manager. Yesterday he didn't play against ManUtd and we lost with 1-0 but that was from a Giggs freekick so it couldn't be helped :nape:
Ogararu was not in the game because we play against Copenhagen for the Champions League on wednesday and our manager wants to be safe and make sure nothing would happen to him like an injury or smth because he has to play then :)

As for the Standard match, who will sub Victoras? Oprita or Badea? Oprita looks to be on his way back but Badea is putting some strong performances too. It's a hard decision for Oli unless we use a 4-3-3 system.

Victoras Iacob needs to be operated so he won't be going to Belgium for the match. Nobody can predict how much will he be out yet.

Personally I'm not a big fan of Cristocea on the left. I think he plays better when he's in the center of midfield making wide passes and creating for the forwards. I would definitely start Bostina. Teama? Destul de mare avand in vedere menu-ul din care nu reusim sa mancam de vreo 10 ani.

Pericolele? Nenumarate. Slabiciunile proprii, frica de arbitraj, de subtirimea lotului, mentalitatea presupus balcanica a unor jucatori, de faptul ca nu reusim sa ne strecuram la masa bogatilor, de faptul ca nu am fi doriti.

Cel mai mare pericol? O sa va mirati dar este reprezentat de dorinta mult prea mare a jucatorilor nostri de a ajunge acolo. Din acest motiv, pe langa presiunea fantastica venita din partea suporterilor si a presei de specialitate (?), a ochilor rautaciosi din curtea rivalelor frustrate dar si a rezultatelor obtinute in ultimii ani rezulta o presiune suplimentara. Mai mult decat atat exista un risc si mai mare: acela de sacrificiu dus la extrem pentru aceasta calificare si apoi o cadere sinonima cu penibilul in jocurile din grupe asa cum s-a intamplat in cele trei calificari consecutive din trecut.

De aceea trebuie sa fim obiectivi si chiar putin pretentiosi: o echipa de talia Stelei nu poate avea pretentii sa joace in Champions League daca se teme de un adversar ca Standard Liege. Nu avem ce cauta acolo daca nu trecem de acesti belgieni. Nu putem sa dam ochii cu Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos, Inzaghi, Zambrotta, Cannavaro, Ballack, Raul, Henry sau Chivu daca ne temem de una din reprezentantele unui fotbal de mana a doua a Europei. Chiar si in conditiile absentelor ce se prefigureaza, Steaua nu are voie sa clacheze. Altfel, parcursul european de anul trecut, castigarea campionatului vor deveni simple izbanzi izolate de contextul numit continuitate si performanta la cel mai inalt nivel.

Revenind la postarile suporterilor de pe forumul nostru. Este ciudat cum de foarte multe ori discutii banale, exprimarea opiniilor se transforma in polemici asociate cu injurii. De cele mai multe ori este pusa sub semnul intrebarii calitatea de suporter al Stelei sau "cine este mai stelist". Din punctul meu de vedere aceasta disputa nu ar trebui sa se desfasoare pentru ca este la fel de penibila ca si intrebarea "pe cine iubesti tu mai mult - pe mama sau pe tata?". Fiecare are trairi proprii si moduri diferite de manifestare. Un singur aspect nu trebuie sa-i contestam partenerului nostru de dialog de pe site-ul www.fcsteaua.ro: calitatea de suporter al Stelei.

Este foarte important sa nu emitem judecati de valoare in functie de sistemul propriu de valori pentru ca acesta poate sa fie subiectiv ori nepotrivit pentru un anume context, iar daca le emitem sa incercam sa intelegem perfect mesajul colegilor nostri. Fiecare suporter vine in contact cu ceilalti aducand in prim plan propria-i filosofie de viata, sistem de valori, rezultate ca urmare a educatiei primite, a autoinstruirii si plecand si de la varsta. De aceea, educarea acelora care sunt mai entuziasti si poate ceva mai neinstruiti, trebuieste facuta cu atentie, fara a pierde din useri (nu acesta este scopul nostru) ci pentru a-i aduce pe fagasul comportamentelor considerate dezirabile.

Personal eu plasez echipa Steaua in sfera performantei asolute. Indraznesc sa afirm ca nu ar mai exista conceptul Steaua fara performanta, fara victorii. Multi afirma ca poate nu ar mai fi atatia stelisti daca nu ar fi fost Sevilla 1986. De asemenea se afirma "sa vedem cati mai sunt suporteri daca echipa nu ar mai castiga atat". Pai, hai sa ne gandim altfel: aceasta echipa ar mai fi campioana inimilor noastre daca nu ar fi asa? Pentru ca aceasta inseamna stelismul in zilele noastre - continuitatea victoriilor si a perfomantelor. Este bine sa stii sa primesti cu demnitate infrangerile si sa admiti faptul ca acestea pot surveni la un moment dat, dar cu doua conditii absolut esentiale - 1. sa stii sa transformi aceste nereusite in victorii in viitor si 2. sa nu ajungi sa te inveti cu infrangerile. Ori Clubul Steaua Bucuresti asta a facut in peste 50 de ani de existenta. Reprezinta imaginea invingatorului, a celui care cade si revine ca un tavalug peste tine pedepsindu-te pentru simplul fapt ca ai vrut sa-l infrunti. We would of won this game 3 or 4-2 had Iacob been healthy, oh well it's still a solid result. Just as I thought it wasn't as easy as everyone said it would be :jap:. I really liked the subs that Oli made tonight and also the change of tactics that he instilled after half time. You could see that in the first half our players were set on attacking every time they got the ball and scoring as many goals as possible, that worked because we got our goal early but then playing like that also creates large spaces for the opponent and with Radoi missing those spaces were bigger than usual. Time after time in the first half our wing backs were caught of guard and had to sprint back to cover because they were always forward. Petre Marin though more than Nesu; I still think Marin can't play as a RB. It was his fault on Standard's second goal, he always has the intention to run towards the left and he left their player wide open for the volley, but he made up for it with that beauty of a cross erghh goal (H). But anyway, after halftime you could see that our players were more inclined on controlling the midfield and building up their attacks and that created very few spaces for Standard which is why we dominated the second half as well. Cristocea, nothing to say, he is a super-sub and like my dad likes to say "are stofa," I just love that expression and it describes his style of play perfectly. I'm very puzzled about why he doesn't start, maybe his fitness isn't that good :confused:. Anyway he came on and instantly we started looking more organized and controlled in midfield (Y). BTW, it was my first time seeing Badea and he impressed me. Me and my dared to compare him to Pippo Inzaghi, heck he even looks like him a bit :D. Just a scrappy forward who is always on the limit of offside/onside and just needs that inch of space to score, he's gonna do great things for Steaua. Hopefully Iacob will be healthy and play along side Dica in the return leg. If he is I would start this:

You could say that Carlos can be blamed for the goals but come on, even good goal keepers would of gotten scored on with those shots, they might of gotten a touch but the ball still would of ended up in the back of the net. He had that amazing save in the first half so for now I would leave him in the net. I just don't like Marin on the right, I just don't (:/). I've tried to get used to it but every time I see him play there it dissapoints me, not on the offensive end, he's great there just on defense. He always looks lost and out of place on the defensive end of the field when he plays RB, so I would give Saban a chance, heck I hope he starts this weekend so he gets some match fitness. Nesu was brilliant, man of the match for me (Y) with Para a close second. I would keep Nicolita in but I would move him to the right where he belongs and I would bring Cristocea in in place of Oprita, him and Nesu looked very good together on that left wing tonight. Dica and Iacob....not comments needed there. BTW Dica played too close to midfield tonight imo, I hope that changes in the return leg.

And Nesu really is a good surprise, this match made me not hate him that much anymore :p, hopefully he can make it into the nt again, at least as a sub for Rat.

Badea? I agree, he kinda plays like Inzaghi, looking to create channels for him, dragging defenders after him and always making runs. A true number 9 I would say, that's what we lacked lately and I bet that him with Iacob will link good. An attack with Iacob and Badea upfront and Dica behind them would be awesome, but we lack forwards so if one of them would get injuried ... (C)

Oh and about Cristocea, why he didn't play as a starter: he got injuried in the Craiova match and sources say that Olaroiu risked him last night as he wasn't fully fit. Anyway, I want him to be a starter as Bostina has been pretty crap this season.

Ghencea is currently in rennovation. The drainage system under the grass was changed and a new pitch is being grown at the moment (pictures) which is why there are still some bald spots here in there. That stadium is an absolute beaut. It holds 28,000 and it gets loud as hell. The seats are VERY close to the pitch and it has been our home for over 30 years. Don't you dare call Ghencea a training pitch.

Might be? I think if he stays healthy he could have a 30 goal season.

To be honest, he deserves to be in the nt. I mean he's one of the most complete & constant romanian strikers (well, forward) lately, had a very good season last year and he's in a top form atm. He can see the game very well, finish and shoot with both feet, take set pieces and drag the team after him. Too bad Mutu has a similar style and we know that his place in the nt's first eleven is well concrete-ed :).

UEFA a inspectat, astăzi, stadionul din Ghencea pentru a vedea dacă întruneşte cerinţele forului european pentru disputarea partidelor de Liga Campionilor. Inspectorii UEFA au sosit pe la stadion în jurul orei 14 şi au cercetat în amănunt fiecare perimetru al bazei sportive.

Stadionul Stelei a intrat într-un proces de renovare, lucrările desfăşurîndu-se şi acum. Suprafaţa de joc este aproape gata, executîndu-se ultimele retuşuri. Returul cu Standard Liege se va disputa tot pe stadionul Naţional. În cazul în care se va califica în grupele Ligii Campionilor, campioana Romîniei ar putea evolua în Ghencea pe 12/13 septembrie. Asta în cazul în care tragerea la sorţi din 24 august de la Monaco va decide ca Steaua să dispute primul joc din grupe pe teren propriu.

Ogararu played the whole game yesterday and they needed hands and feet to stop him he was fantastic against RKC in his first official leaguegame for us.
Everyone was very pleased with his performance, Grygera started the game on the right in defense but sustained an injury only seconds after being in the game so our manager brought in Ogararu and he was impressive (Y)

Just saw the match on Sport Klub and he really looked good (Y). Can't wait to see him and Mitea play together.
Hopefully he'll come back for a season with us when he's on retirement's verge.

He played in all of our pre-season matches but unfortunately got injured in one of them and had to undergo knee operation. He is recovering as we speak and he should be back in a month or two.

Hey Alex, what's up with Tiberiu Balan, is he still at Sportul? Imo he'd fit really good at Steaua: he's pretty young (25), can play all the AM positions, has great vision and technique and was really class in the last seasons for Sportul.

It's great to see a huge name from yesteryear step up to the big stage once again, and I wish Steaua all the best. I also wish that Aberdeen could rekindle THEIR form from the 1980s!

Could you guys tell me about Iulian Ochirosii, Vasile Panait and Valentin Badea? I've been reading about Steaua on the internet but I can't seem to find anything on these three.

I'm interested as (a) I'm a football geek and (b) I'm creating Steaua in Pro Evolution!

Ochirosii is a 17 years old AM LC, a true talent and touted a great player for the national team in future. His main qualities are dribbling, creativity and agility. Hard working kid that will go far.

Panait is a central defender, 23 years old. Can't tell you much about him since he hasn't figured at all for Steaua since he came in the summer and I didn't watch him at Vaslui. I'd say he's almost average.

On the other hand, Badea shows all the signs for developing into a quality player. He's a true striker, a la Inzaghi. He's about 24, has great finishing, a good sight for goals and good placement. Might see him in the national team too, but he still needs some work.

I'm not sure Ochirosii's height (it must be around 182-183, I could be wrong) but he's really fast and thin. Badea is about 180cm, I would say he's kinda agile, not really fast but not slow.
And you're right about Dica, he plays as a second striker even though he was originally an attackind midfielder.

Valentin Badea is very fast. He's the 2nd fastest player at Steaua, after Banel Nicolita.

I agree with fallen here. Badea has terrific speed and best of all he can strike the ball very well with both feet which is a rarity among Romanian forwards nowadays.

You say Ghionea should be in the national team? I go as far as saying that Ghionea and Goian should be the starting center backs for the national team. Just look at their performaces in the CL and UC the past two seasons, they are brick walls. Whenever we get scored on its either because of plays coming from the wings or set pieces, the pair of them is very very solid. Of course that will NEVER EVER happen but I think they would be very good together for the national team becasue they know eachothers games so well.

You can't fear anybody, you can be cautious, but don't fear the other teams because they will exploit that fear and beat you.

I'm sorry that everybody forgot about Daniel Balan. He's worked really hard to recover from that injury and he's now the 3rd LB :( Klemi was behind schedule with the fitness so Olaroiu decided to play with Petre Marin as LB :(
I'm confident that Balan will be given a chance, especially now that we're playing on 3 fronts : Champions League, the national league and the national cup :)

I'm more than sure that Balan is a right back. He was there when Boro scored the 4th (:/).

I understand it's not one of our targets this year but it would be nice to show that we still care about it since we are considered the kings of the Romanian Cup.

MM a negociat aseară transferul a doi jucători de la Charleroi. Mijlocaşul Fabien Camus şi atacantul Cyril Thereau au respins oferta Stelei.

"Mai avem cîteva zile la dispoziţie pentru a îmbunătăţi lotul, pentru că în grupele Ligii avem nevoie de mai mulţi jucători", anunţa Olăroiu imediat după calificarea cu Standard Liege, Steaua avînd posibilitatea să completeze lista cu fotbalişti la UEFA pînă pe 31 august. Managerul general al campioanei, Mihai Stoica, a plecat duminică dimineaţa în Belgia, pentru a negocia aducerea a doi fotbalişti de la Charleroi, pe care roş-albaştrii i-au văzut în meciul direct cu Standard, în timp ce îşi spionau adversarii din Liga Campionilor. Cei doi au fost recomandaţi de Liviu Ciobotariu, finul lui Olăroiu.

MM s-a întîlnit ieri după-amiază cu conducătorii lui Charleroi şi primul fotbalist pentru care a tratat a fost Fabien Camus, un mijlocaş ofensiv de 21 de ani. Deşi s-a înţeles cu oficialii belgieni, tranzacţia a picat din cauza refuzului jucătorului francez de a evolua în România. Azi noapte tîrziu, managerul campioanei a continuat negocierile pentru un alt component al lui Charleroi, atacantul Cyril Thereau.

Acesta este golgeterul grupării belgiene şi cel care a marcat singurul gol al lui Charleroi în meciul pierdut duminică, în campionat, cu Gent, partidă la care a fost prezent şi Mihai Stoica. În vîrstă de 23 de ani şi înalt de 1,89 metri, Thereau era văzut ca un înlocuitor perfect de conducerea Stelei pentru Victoraş Iacob, însă şi acesta a decis să continue la echipa belgiană, refuzînd propunerea campioanei României.

i think french players fit well to eastern teams, when thinking about the case with Levski.
we got a french midfielder Cedric Bardon, he scores a lot of goals, and i don't think somebody ever aroused a conversation about wage or something.
he scores pretty fine goals, especially the one this year on the away tie against Chievo.
But your player should be a little bit different, cos he's younger, but hasn't played for bigger clubs before. i mean, Cedric might be older, but he has more expirience, since he had played for Olympic Lyon and other teams before that. Anyway, your frenchman will have the chance to prove his qualities, which is something. :jambo:

It seems that Paraschiv got a minor injury so he won't play for Romania in the matches against Bulgaria and Albania. He got a strain (is that the word equivalent to "intindere"?) and he didn't train with the other nt players this morning. Margaritescu will replace him in the squad. Hopefully he'll be back in time to play for us.

Cea mai recentă achiziţie a Stelei, atacantul Cyril Thereau, a ajuns astă-noapte la Bucureşti. Oli vede în francez înlocuitorul perfect pentru Victoraş

După trei zile de negocieri între Steaua şi Charleroi, atacantul francez al grupării belgiene, Cyril Thereau, a acceptat ieri la prînz oferta celor din Ghencea. Vîrful de 23 de ani a costat 600.000 de euro şi va semna cu roş-albaştrii pentru 4 ani.

Cum a ajuns Steaua să şi-l dorească pe Thereau? În urmă cu 3 săptămîni, Olăroiu şi MM Stoica au fost în Belgia să o spioneze pe Standard Liege, într-un meci cu Charleroi. Standard a pierdut, 1-2, Thereau înscriind un gol. "Are viteză mai bună ca Iacob, nu protejează mingea la fel de bine ca el, dar are o demarcare excelentă" au fost concluziile lui Oli, care l-a văzut ca un înlocuitor perfect pentru Victoraş Iacob, accidentat la genunchi şi inapt încă o lună şi jumătate.

MM s-a întors duminica trecută în Belgia şi a asistat la meciul Gent- Charleroi 2-1. Thereau a marcat din nou. Stoica a început negocierile cu el şi cu "închizătorul" Camus, acesta din urmă fiind principala ţintă a Stelei. A eliminat pe Marseille
Cel mai important moment din cariera lui Thereau s-a petrecut în ianuarie 2005, cînd a jucat împreună cu Angers împotriva lui Marseille, în Cupa Franţei, chiar pe Stade Velodrome, stadionul lui Olympique. Pentru 1 milion de euro, vine şi Ovidiu Petre

Ovidiu Petre este aproape jucătorul Stelei. Campioana României şi Poli Timişoara s-au înţeles în privinîa transferului mijlocaşului bănăţean, în orele următoare urmînd a fi stabilite ultimile detalii. Petre va semna contractul cu Steaua în cursul zilei după care el va fi înregistrat la Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal, jucătorulurmînd a fi trecut pe lista pe care campioana o va trimite la UEFA. As for Ovidiu Petre I was just thinking last night to post that we should go for him if Paraschiv will be unavailable for more than a week or two. €1mil is a good sum thinking that Poli didn't want to let him go unless for 1 mil and a half, now hopefully he'll show his value.

Petre signed for 5 years and Thereau for 4. Oli said that he signed the french striker being impressed especially because the determination and motivation the player has.

Dude I said it's from the 03/04 season and the pic you posted is the kit from 04/05 and 05/06. This season's away kit has a different color, has the sponsor logo on it and also has a red bit on the sleeves, none of that are on the jersey you posted. This is the current away kit:

Two great signings which have strengtened our squad considerably (Y). I didn't expect us to make such good signings but I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised. No matter how we'll do in the CL, with this roster of players we should easily be able to win Liga I. Welcome Petre and Thereau :rockman:

we are very strong in midfield and even attack now. we have petre, lovin, paraschiv and radoi as do it all defensive dm's, then we have cristocea, bostina, nicolita and ochirosii as offensive midfielders and in attack we have dica, iacob, thereau, badea and oprita

PS: still need more depth in defense and maybe another GK, I'm not so sure about Cernea.

i think marin and bostina have played more games as starters, then the other two.. :chew:

Nope, Marin mostly played on the right whilst Nesu was just on the left.
As for Bostina, well he's out of form and Cristocea played more than him and is better all-around.

P.marin is better in the opinion of some ... but i like Nesu more ... i think he has a great future ...

Cristocea is a class player, he has earned a spot in th starting 11 over Bostina this season.
