PARIS SAINT GERMAIN FOOTBALL CLUB 1970
http://www.psgvarpaca.com/images/LOGOS/LOGO_PSG.gif

Founded: 1970
Nickname: PSG
President : Alain Caysac
Manager : Guy lacombe

History

The club was founded in August 1970. Gathering funds from 20,000 subscribers, the founding of FC Paris marked the reappearance of a major club in Paris after the demise of R.C. Paris, Red Star and Stade Français (among others). The union of F.C. Paris and Stade Saint-Germain (from Saint-Germain-en-Laye), motivated by the need to find players, structures, and a place in a higher division, resulted in the creation of Paris Saint-Germain Football Club. The new club played in the Nationale (second) division for the 1970–71 season. The club won the division and was promoted to the top division in their first season.

After finishing 16th in 1971–72 the club split in May. Under pressure from the Paris City Council to remove the reference to Saint-Germain, the professional part of the club joined C.A. Montreuil and remained in the top division as Paris F.C., the amateur part of the club continued in the third division as amateur side Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG was promoted to D2 in 1972–73, as champions following the disqualification of Quevilly. The following season the club returned to professional status and finished second in the league, winning promotion to the top division in a play-off with Valenciennes. In a pleasing symmetry for PSG supporters, Paris F.C. were relegated in that season and PSG would henceforth always play at the newly rebuilt Parc des Princes, once the ground of Paris F.C.

The club has remained in the top division since 1974, winning the league twice, in 1985–86 and in 1993–94. The club has also won the Coupe de France seven times (1982, 1983, 1993, 1995, 1998, 2004 and 2006). In Europe, the club became famous by making at least five semi-finals in a row (1993 to 1997) in various European cups, securing the title in the Cup Winners' Cup in 1996, only to lose the next year when they made the final again, against Barcelona. PSG has also had a number of runs in the Champions League, but never beyond the semi-finals.

In 1994 PSG was purchased by the French media company Canal Plus, but despite major investment did not win the French league under its ownership. In April 2006 it was sold to a consortium of investment companies comprised of U.S. firms Morgan Stanley and Colony Capital and Butler Capital Partners of France for a reported sum of 41 million euros ($49m; £34m). It is expected that the club will be floated on the stock market later in 2006.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!

on to the transfers

Albert Baning was brought in to be the replacement of Modeste M'Bami in case he finally leaves.

Mickael Landreau, one of the best french keepers, brought in to replace departing Lionel Letizi, it's gonna be nice watching who's gonna keep the starting spot between him and Jerome Alonzo.

Amara Diane is a talented striker, we gonna have to wait and see how he develops.

Samy Traore is gonna have to compete with Rozehnal for that CB spot, whoever complements Mario "El Jefe" Yepes takes the spot.

Pierre Alain Frau, he's young and he's gonna have to learn to play alongside Pauleta.

like most papers say, our recruitment was economical this year but we have to maintain the chemistry that was created halfway through last season.

hopefully we can have a fun ride on the UEFA Cup and make an attempt to dethrone l'OL.

and of course to keep the evil guys (l'OM) at bay.

Jerome Rothen got injured in our last pre season match :nape:

i guess David Hellebuyck is gonna be starting on the left wing if Rothen is not fit by the time the season starts in a few days.

well we lost our season opener 3-2 against Lorient that soldout b!tch Fiorese killed us

PSG : Landreau - Mendy, Rozenhal, Yepes, Armand (Hellebuyck, 85e) - Pancrate (Pauleta, 71e), Paulo Cesar, Cissé, Rothen - Kalou (Rodirguez, 57e), Frau.

Lorient : Audard - Ciani, Boutruche, Morel, Marchal - Abriel, Le Pen, Mansouri, Saïfi (Moullec, 90e) Fiorèse (Gignac, 74e) - Mbodji (Jallet, 12e).

good work by Pancrate and Rothen on the wings, i'm still not convinced by Pancrate, our holding midfield pair (Cissé and Paulo Cesar) was aweful, we need to get a holding mid, or get Baning some playing time and bench Paulo Cesar or let him play his original Right back position.

this is all to familiar...

we only managed a draw with ligue 1 newcomers Valenciennes.

although we played 5-3-2, at times we would drop to a regular 4-4-2 with Mendy playing right wing or Roze playing Holding Midfield, Lacombe has to stop tinkering with the system specially with the horrible 5 at the back systems its just horrible, he got Traore when he already had Roze and Yepes as a working center back duo now he has to deal with the ****, Roze can't play holding midfield and he's obviously upset about the whole Traore challenging for his position, a lot of people think he's better than Roze but the guy played one match, just one match and got injured.

Valenciennes FC : Grondin - Silvestri, Chelle, Flachez, Mater - Dossevi, Doumeng, Haddad (Rippert, 86e), Saez - Savidan, Heitzmann (Bratu, 72e). Entr. : Kombouaré.

PSG : Landreau - Mendy, Rozehnal, Yepes, Armand, Dramé - Baning (Chantome, 80e), Cissé, Pancrate - Pauleta (Rothen, 81e), Frau. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

PSG 1 - 0 Lille

Rozehnal did good in midfield when he played there, still is not the best option, i think our team plays as good as Cisse plays, when hes the general our team is always on the offensive, when he dissappears, our team plays horribly.

we started in that horrible 5-3-2 formation, but switched around to 4-4-2 with Mendy playing right wing, leaving Cisse and Dhorasoo playing defensive mid, and obviously sometimes leaving Dhorasoo as the playmaker, or Rozehnal playing defensive midfield with Cisse leaving Dhorasoo as a right wing.

PSG : Landreau - Mendy, Rozehnal, Yepes, Armand Dramé - Rothen (Hellebuyck, 90e), Cissé, Dhorasoo - Pauleta (Kalou, 84e), Frau. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

Lille : Sylva - Tafforeau, Rafael, Plestan, Chalme - Bodmer, Makoun, Bastos, Dumont - Keita, Odemwingie. Entr. : Puel.

Sochaux 3 - 2 PSG

i well i guess we're destined to stay mid table for the rest of our lives. Although thismatch was won by the referee, Yepes will have to watch his moves on the pitch from now on.

Sochaux : Richert - Potillon, Pichot, Afolabi, Bréchet - Leroy, N'Daw, Ziani (Mezague, 89e), Sene - Birsa, Quercia (Isabey, 65e). Entr. : D. Bijotat.

PSG : Landreau - Mendy, Rozehnal, Yepes, Armand, Dramé (Traoré, 45e) - Dhorasoo (Kalou, 59e), Cissé, Hellebuyck (Pancrate, 39e) - Pauleta, Frau. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

as usual Rozehnal doesn't actually play as a cb, once the game is on he practically plays alongside Cissé in the defensive midfield position, it was more obvious once Traore came on; Rodriguez, Rothen and Diané were injured and didn't take part in the game

well here comes our blood calling, PSG - l'OM, at least we have to keep l'OM eating dirt, it seems all it takes for them to do good is buy our players..... i was reading skysports and it said that they were trying to sign M'Bami, how many players will switch like that, Fiorese, Dehu, Cana, now M'Bami, the sooner we can get rid of one of the laziest players ever the better

PSG 1 - 3 OM

bah, we lost the classic at home, we had a good first half, dubious pks were called it was 1 - 1 at the half, during the 2nd half we just imploded our defense just fell apart and Ribéry just completely destroyed us, i guess its not even gonna be mid table for us this season.....

PSG : Landreau - Mendy, Traoré, Yepes, Armand - Dhorasoo, Cissé, Rozehnal (Pancrate, 71e) - Kalou, Pauleta, Frau (Diané, 62e). Entr. : G. Lacombe.

Marseille : Carrasso - Beye, Zubar, Civelli, Taiwo - M'Bami (Lamouchi, 72e), Cana, Ribery, Nasri - Maoulida (Pagis, 55e), Niang (Oruma, 87e).

at times the midfield was a classic line of four with Dhorasoo, Cisse, Rozehnal and Kalou, leaving Frau as a 2nd striker behind Pauleta

the only thing good was Landreau. Mendy marking Ribéry out of the first half, Rozehnal and Pauleta, Frau was ok.

i cant remember where i saw the stats, but lemme tell you it was a long time ago.

on other news Guy Lacombe has excluded Vikash Dhorasoo from our last 2 matches (UEFA Cup tie, Ligue 1), i remember reading that he wanted to go during the summer, but nothing came through and he decided to stay, i guess being a starter with us is not enough motivation for him :nape:

we need players who want to leave it all on the pitch.

i didn't watch this match i heard the matchcast over the net, from what i heard the pitch was in really bad condition.

Derry City FC : Forde - Oman, McCallion, Kelly, Hargan - Deery, Brennan (Farren, 79e), Molloy, McCourt (Beckett, 59e), Martyn - McHugh. Entr. : S. Kenny.

PSG : Landreau - Dramé, Traoré, Rozehnal, Armand - Pancrate (Kalou, 78e), Diané (Pauleta, 72e), Baning (Chantome, 84e), Hellebuyck, Paulo Cesar - Frau. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

regular 4-4-2 with Roze and Traoré in the center of defense, Baning and Hellebuyck as DM's with Diané and Paulo Cesar working the wings i guess and Pancrate and Frau upfront.

i'll post later about the other games, its not the season we expected, so i dont feel any good posting about draws and matches that we played horribly.

not much to say about this one, except that its been awhile since our last trip to Monaco ended in victory

Coupe de la Ligue

PSG 3 - 1 Lorient

PSG : Alonzo - Traoré, Armand, Dramé, Mabiala - Chantome (Baning, 76e), Cissé, Diané (Pancrate, 46e), Rodriguez - Pauleta (Frau, 67e), Kalou. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

we started down 1 - 0 then stormed back and made it 3 - 1, our award for progressing?, we face l'OL in the next round........

PSG 0 - 0 Nancy

PSG : Landreau - Dramé, Armand, Traoré, Mendy - Paulo Cesar, Rozehnal, Hellebuyck (Rodriguez, 85e) - Pauleta, Frau (Diané, 54e), Kalou (Pancrate, 74e). Entr. : G. Lacombe.

Nancy : Sorin - Puygrenier, Sauget, Chrétien, Diakhaté - Duchemin, Bérenguer, Gavanon - Zerka, Dia ( Dosunmu, 69e), Kim (Curbelo, 60e). Entr. : Correa.

we started playing 4-3-3, i like how our team looks playing like this, but we need points, Rozehnal has been solid in the middle of the pitch, a pity how a players become so inconsistent once they done our maillot, Yepes used to be a good CB now he can't play without getting a red card, Rothen was awesome at Monaco, now he can't stay healthy, Pauleta seems to be the only one doing consistently good.

UEFA Cup

PSG 2 - 0 Derry City

PSG : Landreau - Dramé, Armand, Traoré, Mendy - Paulo Cesar, Rozehnal Cissé - Pauleta (Rodriguez, 64e), Frau, Kalou (Pancrate, 64e). Entr. : G. Lacombe.

Derry City FC : Forde - Oman, Kelly, Hargan (O'Flynn, 81e), McCallion - Brennan, McCourt (Farren, 60e), Martyn, Molloy, Deery - Beckett (McHugh, 60e). Entr. : S. Kenny.

at least we progressed to the next phase of the uefa cup while the hated rats (l'OM) got destroyed. when we click playing 4-3-3 we play really good, Frau on the right, Kalou on the left and Pauleta in the middle of the trident. Armand has been playing as a makeshift CB but sadly the inconsistency bug is hitting him too.

Les Verts 1 - 0 PSG

Saint-Etienne : Janot - Ilunga, Diatta, Hognon, Perquis - Sablé, Landrin, Dernis (Bilos, 63e) - Ilan, Feindouno (Heinz, 74e), Piquionne (Hautcoeur, 68e). Entr. : I. Hasek.

PSG : Landreau - Traoré, Armand, Dramé (Yepes, 45e), Mendy - Diané (Pancrate, 58e), Cissé, Rozehnal Hellebuyck (Kalou, 52e), Rodriguez - Pauleta. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

again 4-3-3 formation. ugh, we gave up a goal, gave up the points, its like one team played the first half and a totally different one played the second half, what is it with the motivation factor and our players, i actually like Guy Lacombe as our coach, but some of this players sometimes are so inconsistent is maddening.

a lot of stuff happened in this match, Rozehnal played alongside Yepes at the center of our defense, Yepes had an awesome game, Dramé who is a kid from our youth ranks has pretty much taken over the LB starting spot, Rothen played and didn't get injured, and Pauleta is still the greatest, Frau injured Noro, but it wasn't on purpose as you can see on the replays, sadly for Noro he's gonna be out for a really long time.

we traded blows towards the end of the first half, after that it was a slow game, once Pauleta came on we tried to steal the game, it was a rather dull game, it was obvious from the beggining that Guy Lacombe wasn't gonna risk this game (considering how bad we been doing in the ligue).

so, i don't understand this, we waste all those valuable points trying to play 4-3-3, and when its finally starting to work out we revert to last year's system? 4-4-2 with kalou behind Pauleta; by the way Mulumbu is another kid from the youth ranks, we could've won this match, but the curse just kept us from it.

PSG : Alonzo - Dramé, Armand, Yepes, Paulo Cesar - Chantome, Mulumbu, Cissé - Rodriguez (rothen, 66e), Diané (Pauleta, 77e), Pancrate. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

i didn't catch this game but apperantly we were on our way to beating l'OL until the 88th min when a brace from Wiltord destroyed any chance of silverware for us this season, as you can see l'OL were not kidding, the brought their first team for this... i could tell by seeing the roster for the game that we played 4-3-3 with Chantome, Cissé. Mulumbu in midfield and El Cebolla, Pancrate, Diané upfront.

Armand played as a RB, if some of you or whoever who reads this is wondering what happened to Mendy, well he had family matters to attend to so he hasn't been with the team this last two weeks, as you can see we reverted to 4-4-2 with Kalou behind Pauleta, for some reason our coach took out Rothen for Traoré towards the end of the game, it was like inviting Rennes to try to take away the points...., oh i almost forgot, the goal, well Diané dribbled past 4 defenders and the gk to get the points for us, he kinda reminded me of a younger Weah (kinda dont take it literally).

back to regular 4-4-2 kinda sad that after dominating this game we didn't kill it, at least it was away from home so we came back with something, considering our 2 strikers are out Pauleta through suspension for red card, and Frau for injuring Noro we did ok.

Help?

yes, desperation is turning our fans violent, apperantly a HTA fan was mocking our fans (big mistake) a cop tried defending him and apperantly opened fire killing one and injuring another.

PSG 0 - 2 Bordeaux

PSG : Landreau - Mendy, Traoré (Paulo Cesar, 55e), Yepes, Armand - Diané (N'Gog, 46e), Chantome (Cissé, 37e), Rozehnal, Rothen - Kalou, Pauleta. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

Bordeaux : Ramé - Jurietti, Planus, Enakarhire - Micoud, Wendel, Faubert, Alonso (Obertan, 83e), Fernando (Ducasse, 76e), Mavuba - Laslandes. Entr. : Ricardo.

So Cissé went public about not wanting to play at RB, i mean i understand the guy he's barely a decent holding midfield and he has been playing that position forever and all of a sudden hes asked to play RB, not good.

UEFA Cup

PSG 2 - 4 Hapoel Tel-Aviv

PSG : Landreau - Paulo Cesar (Kalou, 57e), Rozehnal, Armand, Dramé - Hellebuyck, Mulumbu (Rodriguez, 70e), Cissé, Rothen, - Pauleta, Frau (Pancrate, 65e). Entr. : G. Lacombe.

Hapoël Tel-Aviv : Elimelech - Haliva, Antebi, Paez - Dego (Vermouth, 80e), Badir, Abutbul, Abukasis, Toema (Natcho, 88e) - Barda, Ogbona (Tal Chen, 73e). Entr. : Y.Schum.

and here we go crashing down on europe, somehow i knew we couldn't even be lucky enough to be decent.

Nantes 1 - 1 PSG

Nantes : Stojkovic - Das Neves, Norbert, Pierre, Cubilier - Saidou, Da Rocha, Fae, Rossi - Diallo (Dimitrijevic, 73e), Oliech (Keseru, 46e). Entr. : G. Eo.

PSG : Landreau - Mendy, Yepes, Armand, Dramé (Paulo Cesar, 70e) - Diané (Pancrate, 69e), Chantome, Rozehnal, Hellebuyck (Cissé, 82e) - Kalou, Pauleta. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

Guy Lacombe's job is on the line, he cant afford to lose anymore, i lost all hope in him i want him sacked, we need a good coach and our new owners to cough up the cash, i'm hoping for a fire sale come january cuz there are way too many players that are just not good enough for the Rouge et bleu

now that we are at the midpoint of the season i can evaluate our highs and lows

David Rozehnal: he has a ways to go be a holding mid, and i think it'd be better for him to play alongside Yepes in defense

Bernard Mendy: here's a guy who's wasting his talent he needs to rediscover his form and fast this guy could be the natural substitute for Thuram at RB (yes i know Thuram doesn't play RB anymore but Mendy can be just as good as he was at RB)

Paulo Cesar: he could definetly take Mendy's spot in the starting eleven should Mendy not find his form.

Edouard Cissé: he either finds some consistency or he can leave

David Hellebuyck: i mean come on PSG isnt Les Verts so he either works for it or he can leave too.

Albert Baning: who's this guy?, why did we bring him in?

Cristian Rodriguez: el cebolla needs to come forward and admit that he can't play in midfield in Europe he needs to play as a 2nd striker

Jerome Rothen: pls don't get injured!

Fabrice Pancrate: somebody show him the door.

Amara Diané: ok this guy is young but he needs to be consistent.

Bonnaventure Kalou: how come this guy was so good before coming and now he is inconsistent as hell??.

PAF: this guy can't be the replacement of Super Pedro Pauleta, no way.

Dissapointing encounter to say the least, but somehow we held on for a point

Lyon 3 - 1 PSG

it was against l'OL which as you prolly now is practically an unbeatable side, we played decently but in the end the champions imposed their game, i feel sad for Rothen really...

PSG 4 - 0 Panathinaikos

PSG: Landreau - Mendy, Rozehnal, Yepes, Armand - Hellebuyck, Cissé, Chantome, Rodriguez (P. Cesar, 79) - Kalou (Pancrate, 83), Pauleta (Pietre, 73). Entr.: G. Lacombe.

at least we progressed to the next phase of the UEFA Cup i wish we can keep this european sort of form cuz we just cant do it on the ligue.

PS: i left out a couple of matches and didn't actually write a decent enough match review but its the hollidays and its hard to say anything positive about our team when we are 2 points above the relegation zone

PSG : Landreau - Mendy, Rozehnal, Armand, Dramé (Traoré, 85e) - Diané, Cissé, Mulumbu, Hellebuyck - Pancrate, Kalou. Entr. : G. Lacombe.

the only thing worthwhile saying about this couple of games is that after half a season thrown down the drain Guy Lacombe realized that this team works better under a 4-4-2 with Kalou behind Pauleta upfront, he finally made Rozehnal play in defense like he should, i mean who in their right mind breaks a decent central back pairing to make one of em play out of position, way to break our defense chemistry....

Lacombe's awesome midfield desicions: we don't have a Right Winger (we haven't had one since Fiorese left) so let's get rid of the only player who can more or less play decently on the right, yeah lets get rid of Dhorasso for speaking his mind... We have one of the best Left Wingers in the league, let's Not use him and keep him in the reserves and not even bench him, just let's keep him out of the team... bye bye Rothen... We have a talented player who can play on the left, but lets waste his talent instead of giving him minutes so he can get used to the league and the team.... bye bye El Cebolla Rodriguez.... let's keep Pancrate......
we needed a Defensive midfielder, awright lets buy some unknown that doesn't even know the league and NOT use him welcome Albert Baning......

all we needed was a right winger and a defensive midfielder. Instead we kept subpar inconsistent players and bought more odd players.

Why are we doing soo bad

that's the question every psg fan has been asking for a really long time now.

my take on it is bad transfers, like i said a few posts back, coming to this season we needed a defensive mid cuz M'bami was worthless and on his way out (sad part is he seems to be doing ok at l'OM) and a right winger something we haven't had since Fiorese, it would've been nice to find a good striker to pair up with Pauleta upfront as he himself kept asking all summer. Also there's gotta be attitude problem between the players and the coach, Guy Lacombe wasn't a bad coach before coming to PSG, once he got settled he started making bad coaching desicions, like changing systems every week, buying unneeded players, etc.

there's gotta be a huge concentration problem with this players, it's really maddening how inconsistent they are each and everyone of 'em including the new signings are hella inconsistent, Kalou, Mendy, Rozehnal (our coach made him play in midfield which was bad), Rothen has been injured so much, Dhorasso was always inconsistent even before coming here; Cissé gives you one good match before playing like **** for 3 straight matches, the new guys that we brought from the academy can't be thrown with the others simply because it is expected that they are gonna make mistakes.

if it was up to me i'd fire the coach and leave the door open for all the players that want to leave, and buy decent to good players or bring the youngsters from the academy to fill the holes of the ones leaving and a good coach.

ok PLG is the new coach, its kinda hard to say anything at the moment about how he's been doing, he has given continuity to the back four which now consists of what worked last season (Mendy, Rozehnal, Yepes, Armand), hes been making Rothen play more, which is always good, i never understood Lacombe's problem with him, and our winter transfers have been decent.
and we've been playing between 4-3-1-2 with Gallardo as a playmaker and 4-3-2-1

Marcelo Gallardo: great playmaker we all remember him from his days at Monaco, and he already seems like more consistent player than Dhorasoo even though he had a month of no football.

Fabrice Pancrate: well he was loaned out and hopefully with a buy out clause, i never understood why we got him in the first place.

Paulo Cesar: transfered out, i feel we never gave him a fair chance to wrestle the RB spot from Mendy.

Jeremy Clement: he was brought up by PLG at l'OL, he's a defensive mid and we definetly needed one.

Peguy Luyindula: he may turn out to be Pancrate's second coming..... besides the fact that he played for le rats.

does anybody already know if the uefa game psg-benfica will be played in the parc des princes or in the stade de france? the first leg will be in paris, right?

i know that psg always refused to play home games in the stade de france, but this time they could be loosing a lot of money: they could simply sell the double of tickets! the 80.000 seats would be surely all sold, like last season against lille in the champions league.

the expectation for this game is very high for all the portuguese fans who live and work near paris and near france (i am sure that a lot of portuguese fans that live in switzerland, belgium and germany would go to see that game).

i am myself so tempted to go to paris to see, the club of the city where i was born (in saint vincent de paul hospital, 14.eme arrondissement:) ) against the club of my heart (i am french and live in portugal since 1987).

infortunately for benfica i think it is the worst moment of the season to play psg. since le guen arrived the results are much better than before.

where are you in the staduim ? gallardo is out for the game.

actually,it's my father (who lives near paris) who got the tickets. i don't know where i'll be in the stadium, i just know 2 things: we will not be in the kop de boulogne's tribune, and the tickets cost 28€ each.

by the way, isn't gallardo your most influent player in this moment?

if we drop i'm pretty sure we gonna spend a few seasons playing ligue 2, we all know who's gonna leave once/if we drop.

that sedan game made me not wanna watch psg until next season, its frustrating, i mean we had a great central pairing in Rozehnal and el jefe, el jefe got injured and who do we have as backup: Traore.....

ever since Gallardo came out its like some players said oh yeah i'm taking a vacation (Cissé, Kalou), we brought Clement and he's been injured for god knows how many weeks knowing that we needed a holding mid fast not for next ligue 2 season.

Clement is LeGuen's fault but having no decent backup for any position is all Lacombe's fault.

great new ownership thanks for not putting out the money for better players you brought our team down.

i don't wanna see our glorious rouge et bleu on ligue 2, i can't take this anymore, the owners will have to pay off the other teams to lose since we can't win on our own and it's their fault we got stuck with the ****ty players we have.

after a few weeks of suffering we're finally out of the relegation spots, not by much but ever since Clement started playing again we been playing a little bit better, the sad part is that Gallardo has been warming the bench as of late, but i think it has to do with his fitness after all when he joined us he was on vacations.

2 teams want Rozehnal: Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle. At first, it was almost sure he'll join Dortmund but now, I've heard he'll play for Newcastle next year, if a deal is found, I think for 4M€. Rozehnal is a good defender, maybe his physical abilities will be useful in Premiership ;)

i've read everywhere that Makelele is being linked to our merry club, well that ain't happening, we just don't have the money for a transfer like that, or the wages that a player like Makelele deserves.

our mercato has been pretty quiet for some reason, we are still needing the same a central back to partner el jefe Yepes, a right winger and either a right wing back or some kind of motivation for Mendy who i know has the talent, also a new striker wouldn't be bad considering this is gonna be Pauleta's last season.

well after a season that could've ended in disgrace with our team on ligue 2, we finally saved face and avoided relegation.

We finally have a good manager in Paul LeGuen and a decent group of players, we still need a right winger (ever since Fiorese the sellout fag left) a new striker because this is Pauleta's last season and a central defender to pair with Yepes, hopefully the next season will see us compete against l'OL again at the very least.

Hey guys, I was just wondering how you think Cebolla will be doing in the new season in France? He had a great Copa América and was one of the best players in it, he convinced a lot of people. If you don't play him, then I think you should either sell him or loan him out.

it all depends on PLG right now, left wing spot belongs to Rothen, but we been playing 4-3-3 with Luyindula on the left upfront, he was great coming from the bench, i don't actually like Luyindula that much, but he will have a huge mountain to climb to take any of the spots on the left from the midfield up, i don't wanna say anything cuz we been pretty quiet on the mercato, but i think he will be loaned out this season.

Supply and demand. Demand from only Barca as he wants only to go there. He is a major criminal in dragging down his price by behaving disgustingly. If he had handed in a transfer request things would have been done quicker and Arsenal could have used some time to spend it properly.

oh and yeah, seen a bit of the Salzburg game, nice display there. though Pastore wasn't on his best day I guess.

Carlo would be nice, yeah, but what PSG needs atm is silence and some patience. these last few years have been horrible for them, with managers coming and going, relegation battle, etc. now it finally seems that they have a good plan.

The problem for Argentina is there is no Riquelme replacement, they never really control the game, I don't see Pastore as the solution for that.

Arnau

Banega, Pastore, Lucho, Gago... Ricky Álvarez?... there's a lot of quality in the midfield, the main problem are the coaches.

ArgVega
20-09-2011, 12:35:AM
Riquelme in his Villarreal form was a million times better than Banega and Lucho who are the only comparable to his all around play. Pastore and Alvarez are great at creating, but don't have his ability to control the tempo of the game and overall vision. Gago is more like defensive like Redondo, won't really create much. Argentina was fantastic in 2006 with Roman as the cerebro as he did with Villarreal.

Arnau

I'm not comparing them to Riquelme. These players keep the ball and don't give it away, Argentina have potential to dominate every match and Messi to win them.

Carletto's already started to put his unique ideas into effect for PSG:

http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/9022/xifiopsgcarlettofalcon.jpg

Nenê was in brilliant form in the friendly against Milan, and got robbed of a cheeky goal scored directly from a corner ... hopefully Ancelotti sees fit to play a 4-2-3-1 as his starting formation, with Ménez-Pastore-Nenê in behind Gameiro ...

with PSG already knocked out of Europe, Ricky Kakà won't be needed till next season, so there's no need to push for his winter signature ... the smart move in Jan would be to get Drogs to sign a pre-contract for a summer Bosman; moving back to France may squeeze one more big season performance out of him ...

Xifio
17-01-2012, 12:42:PM
Carletto did one better than the 4-2-3-1 I wanted to see: he played a 4-3-3 on his competitive debut, with the terrific trio of Nenê-Ménez-Pastore forming a fluid attack up top ... some of their combination play was sublime, and the team overall looked instaneously rampant (Y) ...

oaIb0yq-SVQ

I mentioned that Nenê was on fire against Milan in Ancelotti's friendly debut; he continues to be the in-form player for the Parisians ... wonder if he can keep it up and earn a late seleção call-up ...
