Instead of announcing key PLAYER NAMES like Zidane, Figo, Raul, Beckham, Veron, Batistuta or Henry, EA chooses to use VALUABLE speech space to make Motson be REALLY agreeable with Mark Lawrenson. Who gives a rat's a|ss whether those two agree with each other or not?! Realistic commentary involves the name of the player holding the ball AND the team name..."Barcelona equalise!!", "Lazio take the lead again!!"..
Good commentary is the backbone of a good soccer game..and it just doesn't seem to cut it in fifa2001.
And what's with the AI's players spinning like ballerinas whenever you try to tackle them? A nutmeg, a split-sprint...something natural! Not 5 spins in a row!!!
