Warning this may be long!!!!

First let me say that I have only played ISS once and it was the first version on the N64 and to be honest I don't remember how it played. I may try the new one on N64 and see. Having said that I have been playing EA games since I can remeber and will continue to do so. I have already bought FIFA 2001.

Now to my points. It is a simple business matter. If every game company gave us what we all wanted then they wouldn't have to make another game and thus would not make any money. Fifa 2001 is not perfect but it is better than last year's effort from what I have seen so far. Companies need to make money and in order to do that they never include eveything they can leaving something out for the following year and saying it's a new feature. I think NHL is great this year and the customize everything to one's liking is a great idea and maybe should be included in FIFA but despite that people complained when NHL came out too. Companies can not please everyone and video games will never replicate real life unless VR gets to that point which is still far off. As far as bugs go, there isn't a company today that relases a piece of software that doesn't have bugs in and I am not just talking about games either. It seems as though companies rush to push things out and then say "we can patch it later". But despite all that remeber one thing it is only a game and in my opinion we will never see a game that has everything that we want. So just play the game and enjoy it and if you don't like it bring it back or dont buy it.

Thanks

Ezio

nope, sorry I diagree with you. It IS possible to make the perfact game. What if ISS came out with better graphics but IDENTICAL gameplay, would you but it? OF COURSE YOU WOULD! and what about ID Software and Quake2 and Unreal, everyone thoguht 3D game could not possible get any better, the gameplay was considered the best ny far and the gfx were superb, and look at what happened, both companies fouind ways to improve their game. EA can do the same but they won't, they chose to rush a release every year instead of taking more time to do little things.

"Companies need to make money and in order to do that they never include eveything they can leaving something out for the following year and saying it's a new feature"

You must be really into conspiracy theories if you believe that they make games lacking in features on purpose so they can sell next in the series. Isn't that a risky business strategy? What if people decide to hell with your series and decide not to buy the next game? The way to make sure people buy the next game is to make the one you put out awesome and not the other way around.

Also I can name you many games which are "perfect" in addition to the 2 named above, so the arguement just don't wash.

You make good points about quake and other games but I was pretty much referring to sports games. Do I think excluding things on purpose is a risky business yes. Do I think it is done intentionally probably. Look MLS last year in FIFA they went through all the trouble to get the license and then you couldn't play a season with MLS teams that is ridiculous. But risky business or not enough people will conitnue by these games myself included. So companies will continue to do what they want.

I agree with alot of this but... we have to remember:

The guys who make this game, love this game. The put their souls into its creation and always want it to be the best possible. They are the ones who lose weeks of sleep trying to make it perfect...

They could make it better, and I am sure if the $$$ makers would put aside they would make it better... BUT!

The money makers are the ones who get the game out on time... they are the ones who make it happen in an orderly manner.

I give all props to the programmers they have made the game alot better! ALOT!! and they didn't mess anything up...

well... they didn't include some key teams which was just plain dumb... but with the patch community as active as it is with this game everyone will just edit the game to their PERFECT leagues anyway

I know I can't wait for the Latin America super patch... DALE BOCA!!!!

Lets see wht EA took out this year:

- snow
- several teams that promised to have in the game
- rotating adboards
- 3D crowd

I am sure there is more . . .

About having or not the best possible game: for 3rd world people, this is just impossible. Why? Because EA doesn't care about us. The rosters of the 3rd world teams (brazilians, in particular) are completely wrong. By this I mean that they don't care about the names of the players, they are all wrong! I saw a screenshot of the brazilian team in fifa2001 and just couldn't believe the number of wrong names... I will buy the game, but it does seem to me that the folks on EA just don't watch football on tv...
