The 2006/2007 Bundesliga season kicks off tomorrow with Bayern playing host to BVB. The last match between the two sides was meaningless and ended 3-3.

Dortmund usually has a hard time getting a result in Munich, but they really have a decent chance this time around. BVB has been awesome during preseason while Bayern has struggled. However, that does not mean anything anymore as both sides should be fired up to start the new season.

The big concern for BVB is the loss of Woerns who is currently serving the last two games of his four game suspension. Brezenska, who has not impressed me much at all will take his spot. Look for the Bayern forwards to attack Brezenska as much as possible.

Bayern also has some injury issues with Karimi being out and both Demichelis and Lucio listed as doubtful.

Expected starting lineups:

Bayern Munich: Kahn – Sagnol, Lucio, van Buyten, Lahm – Salihamidzic, Ottl, Hargreaves, Schweinsteiger – Makaay, Podolski

Borussia Dortmund: Weidenfeller - Degen, Brzenska, Metzelder, Dede - Kruska, Kehl, Pienaar, Kringe - Frei, Valdez

Prediction:
My heart says 3-2 Dortmund... but my head tells me 2-2 or 2-1 Bayern.

Everyone's been kinda putting Bayern down in the past couple weeks, the players haven't been taking this lightly most likely and look for them to show their true colors in this opening match. :rockman:

I predict a clear win for Bayern, dortmund have a nice team but don't really have the quality to compete with bayern at the allianz arena.

I think it's Bayern that can't compete with proper opposition at the moment.

Dortmund's defense looks a bit shaky on paper. Our only chance to get anything out of this match is if we score an early goal like we often did against BVB in the last years.

We'll get overrun in the second half anyway due to the lack of fitness. meh :rolleyes:

Stop being so pessimistic. It's the first game of the season.

Pessimistic? ******* Smolarek's finishing is worse than mine! I could score more goals than his sorry ass. Did you see the miss at the end of the game? How the **** do you pull that off? You REALLY REALLY have to try extremely hard to miss that chance. He has been poor last season too. I'm not being pessimistic, but realistic.

Also, did you watch the game? If so you would see that there is a reason I pointed out those players.

Valdez should have scored at least 2 goals as well. But at least he made Kahn save his shots.

I didnt say drop the players for the rest of the season, but they were bad today. ******* show some class in front of the god damn goal and put it in. Its not that ******* difficult. I wish Amoroso wasnt such a bitch cause he could do it pretty damn good.
