My impressions:

Player turns (changing direction), Same pass speed, the crosses and lobs, shooting, running with the ball, look quite unrealistic. And the ball physics looks rather wierd.

The players run, twist, and turn with acrobatic fluidity. And they take control of mid-air balls with supernatural ease.

The pitch and sounds (commentary and crowds) are amazing.

But overall if it was scripted to feel unscripted, but only made it look more scripted. :)

It looks like a really good game for Fifa fans. Really. (PES/WE has reached a level of gameplay depth and realistic unpredictability of which you can never abandon).

I couldn't give a toss about cutscenes. The gameplay is better than FIFA, it's that simple. FIFA seems to be making incredibly SLOW strides forward. They touch up the dribbling, play around with the shooting then put it on the shelves. Quite frankly, it's not good enough anyway. And, don't get me wrong, Konami seem to be doing the same with PES on current gen, it's getting extremely annoying. But I'm quite sure Konami will make the bigger strides in gameplay on the Xbox 360 and PS3. EA might overtake Konami one day, but I'm confident that's not for a very long time yet. FIFA 07 still looks like a a slight improvement of FIFA 04 - and that game was one of the worst I'd played for....well....worst ever really. It was that bad. I don't see that much difference which is a shame.

Flame me if you want, but at the end of the day, it won't affect me, I'll still feel the same way about FIFA. It's my opinion and I'm entitled to it.

The problem with those videos is that unfortunately these two guys playing it have absolutely no idea what they're doing. To put it simply, they pretty much suck at it (which is no surprise, considering they probably didn't get too much time with it). What I'd like to see is a Human Vs CPU match on a higher difficulty setting. Right now we can only assume how it will play. I'm quite confident it could be a fun game and I certainly do not agree with this supposed ultimate superiority of PES. I've played PES/WE since it first came out on PC three years ago and I still don't feel like I couldn't 'abandon' it and play FIFA for a while instead.

I agree the two players going at it in the vids were not playing to the games potential (they were basically running up the middle of the field then going to the sides of the 18 yard box and crossing it in...they never took their fingers off the turbo buttons..which made them lose the ball frequently)

The ball physics and spin do look better than in 06 or WC 06 and the passes appear to be less accurate (which is a good thing imo and something WE/PES can take an example from as that game has a pretty precise passing engine)

Ok guys, we really should talk about fifa here not about each other.

The animations are no doubt improved but as Biggy says, and considering the level that games are right now, especially with the next-gen, we don't think they look fluid as they should. And i'm telling this for both games FIFA and WE. Both have players running like robotics cartoon characters. It really needs a new "Fluid animation system" mainly while they are running.
Is Fifa07 better then 06 or WC? Yes. But how big was the step? From the videos so far, not that big.
And the engine really should be changed! They change it every 4 years, but this one is almost 6 years old. The 360 is going to have a new engine, i just don't think the pc version is going to have that new engine for this years games, they must have some kind of agreement to sell more 360s. Maybe in 2008 the PC version is going to have the new engine.

I am sure Next-Gen version of FIFA 07 (that has the new 'secret' game-engine that EA SPORTS won't mention! They are mean lol) and Next-gen PES will both have much smoother and improved animations. I know 06 World Cup demo I downloaded for my xbox 360 looked and played MUCH better than on my PC. There were more animations and much smoother gameplay. Was cool.

So I'd say any hardcore football fan should hold out for the Next-gen if the "robotic" movements of current-gen are ruining the fun for ya.

Well, I must admit, I have no intention of getting FIFA on current gen, because as stated previously, the movements do look very false and robotic. However, I can't wait to see when EA fully concentrate making FIFA for both the Xbox 360 and PS3. I am sure that animations will be much smoother. I've always hated the way that players don't seem to turn their heads to face the ball, they tilt it, and that makes things look a bit....well, stupid really. As we all know, next gen will allow movement that flows and looks realistic.

Hell would freeze over before Konami wouldnt support a non-Japanese company first, which means the game will probably be made for the PS2 and graphically enhanced for the 360. I think we will have to wait for the PS3 version of PES before its really next-gen and not just a PS2 port.

No no, I believe Konami will take advantage of Next-Gen such as more animations, that ALONE makes it look more realistic, just compare the animation flow of 2006 World Cup on PC to what EA did on the 360, the game just 'looks' better and feels more 'fluid'. PC is jerky animations in comparison.

Heey people chill down!! ;) I am sure this Fifa will be fantastic...you can look at those video's but DONT take them serious! Just DONT! Wait for the demo. Everything what EA says is promising! The shooting, the passing, the movement, online! Its all great! Lets wait for the demo and decide. And btw, for people that say Fifa didnt develope well over the years...I love PES, but it PES5 isnt playing any different then PES 1 or 2, wich where 5 years ago! Now compare Fifa 06 to Fifa 02 ;)

Well if you think the 360 looked jerky, then I don't know what you'd think about the PC version. However, this could be my computer! So I'll leave that there and save up for a new graphics card haha.

Well if all Konami do is update the graphics, they'll be some pissed 360 owners who held out against the PS2 version for Next-Gen. Although in all fairness, PES5 is pretty impressive so PES6 will be better.

I've still seen no evidence of a brand new engine. Still looks like minor changes to the 06 engine. Is PES6 coming out around the same time as Fifa 07?
