Anyone know how to get the IGM to work on a precision pro joystick? Can the shift button be utilized? I AM GOING MAD!!!!!!

There are solutions for remapping on the official ea Fifa 2001 message board.
To do this copy your config.dat file into your user directory, then open it and you will find the relevant gamepad profiles, followed by number of buttonds and then the order in which they are recoginised by the game. I had same problem with MS gampad pro and got the shift button to work by changing to this:"Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad Pro" 9 "Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad" 10 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 10 9
ie reversing 9 and 10 to 10 then 9, this replaces the start function with the IGM function.
