Are there any users out there who are suffering the same choppy dropped frame-rate video as I am. The graphics are breathtaking but the game is ruined by poor performance.

I have downloaded the latest Nvidia Detonator drivers, I have installed DX8, I have set the in game detail slider to low and still no joy.

Running an Athlon 800 socket A with 256MB RAM on a Gigabyte, (via KT133 chipset mobo) latest 4-in-1 drivers and AGP updates installed. So I should really expect to get top performance.

Any offers of advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try this drivers. I also have the Geforce2 with directx 8. There will have performance gain in Direct3d games.

i have exactly the same problem. my system is almost the same as waltonsw's but ame is just too slow and i can't find a way to fix it

Unzip to a folder.
Go to display properties-> settings TAB -> advanced... -> adapter -> Change... -> Next -> search for better drivers -> specify location-> to the folder.
