Hello SG members,

I've got an idea for a patch for the upcoming FIFA 07 game: a UEFA Euro 2008 Patch which would include:

- All 50 Teams in Qualifying plus Austria and Switzerland (who would be in FIFA 07 already), with kits, rosters, banners and anthems (imported either from Euro 2004 or WC 2006 depending on the format to be used). With also maybe Montenegro as a playable team.
- Stadiums:
- As many of the Finals' Stads as feasibly possible.
- Previously Hidden EA stads such as Stade de France and Ali Sami Yen for Qualifiers
- Euro 2008 Qualifiers and Finals Competitions:
With Acurate fixtures for the Qualifying groups and later the Finals.

Any Other Ideas would be greatly appreciated. :jap:

This UEFA Euro 2008 Patch will be for FIFA 07, and If you would like to contribute to this patch I cordially invite you to do so. :)

CEP will be entirely converted for Fifa 2007, anyway I think that a patch focused on a single tournament is a good idea.

1. Do you have a better instrumental verison that's not a .midi file?
2. Do you have a version that only lplays for the last 15 secs? Because that's how long the anthem cinematics go for, unfortunately.

Also the kits/logos should be updated for these teams, pending avaliablity:

-Slovenia (100%)
-Norway (100%)
-Finland (minis = 33%)

This is very complicated to find because Serbs and Montenegros
are connected very much, actually some of the players can chose
for what national team to play :nape:

Check the list that I send you ,they are 100% serbs :)

My advice for you about Monenegro team, is to wait for them
to play any game, and call any player. And they will for sure miss
next EURO 2008...

Well the emblem also doubles as the coat of arms so i suppose it's alright. But I agree that it'd look a bit more authentic with the FA logo.

but this is a patch that will contain 53 teams and each needs various kits. it doesn't help making artistic kits with microscopic transparencies and shin protectors shining through the socks for such a patch because it would be released in 2008 then. you can't see so much of the kit during the game anyway.

That's great but i have anthem files from Euro 2004 for all teams except for the Faroe Islands (and the new anthem of Georgia, which i have the full length for from WC 2006)

And i can also import flags from Euro 2004 as well :)

All this fuss about country names ("That's my country! You can't call yourself that way" or "We are not Northern Irish, we are Irish!") is unbelievable. Go and get some real problems.

I've heard the don't call Macedonia, Macedonia debate many times before and it really bugs me, it always ends up with the people involved digging up old bits of history to prove their points, but come on it's just a football game and I know the country as Macedonia, I'm not going to call it the 'Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia' every time I want to mention the country to my friends I simply refer to it as Macedonia. Also a lot of countries in the world now recognize the country as simply Macedonia as do the United Nations I think, so please lets not have any debates about that here and just let it be called Macedonia or don't bother downloading the patch if it bothers you so much or even better download it and then change it to FYROM if thats how you like it.

The Greek Goverement protested about the name of your country as you know
We don't recognize you as Macedonian.
You should be called Skopje.
Macedonian is a big local area in the North Greece,but not in your country.

Well i thought about this "problem for Macedonia" and I came up with what i'd think would be a compromise:

Seeing as how Greece (and i'd assume Cyprus too, but i'm not sure (:/) ) is opposed to the use of Macedonia for a seperate country, I'll use the FYR Macedonia naming in the gre.db and all the other .db's can use Macedonia as they recognise this shorter name. :jap:

Oh and hopefully if the conversion from FIFAECP comes thru, and i get permission to use it, we shud then be able to have the Olympic Complex of Athens ingame. :)

It's great to see videos from the patch, brings it more to life that it is actually being formed.

One thing though, I think consistency is needed with team logos, they should all either be FA logos or country flags, it just looks odd watching that video seeing Spain with their FA logo and Latvia just with their flag. Personally I would prefer seeing FA logos but flags would make the countries more identifiable to other people.

i prefer flags. the logos that i don't know all look the same to me while i know every european flag, and i also like flags better because they are simpler, more colourful and they represent the colours of each coutry you mostly find in the kits again. i also got use it because in german tv they always use flags when broadcasting national team matches.

Well those flags (from Euro 2004) were only meant to be temporary, untill i found the logos, as i couldnt play the new teams without having an ingame logo

it's be better if they had new original flag made instead of editting some England ones together, Saraktvelo adds some originality to the flags aswell (I believe it is the transliterated word for 'Georgia' from the Georgian language.)

Personally I detest those styles they look so generic, i've tried to throw in a bit of variation in the flags including the georgian script and latin mixed with flags representing all of Georgia like Abkhazia and Tbilisi. Oh one small note: can you get rid of the nipples on that template once you've retextured the kits? This is b/c they look out of place when the kits are imported in game :eek:

They're great kits, but the shorts (and the details on the away kit's shirt) aren't black, they're a dark blue which isnt like the colours of the Estonian flag (Light Blue, Black, White) :(

Do you make first 11 players that you know that play realy,
or you make it yourself.
I mean it would be great if team players is acurate, I think
everyone think like I for this one :rockman:

Well I try to make it as accurate as possible with the best players ;)

Also Here's the Criterion I use:
1. Players from a NT already in FIFA
2. Specific over Generic Faces
3. Rating (from WC 2006 or Euro 2004; if not already in FIFA)
4. Age (The guy might be past his prime)
5. Whether they've played in an EC2008 qualifier

UPDATE: I've made the DB entries for the UEFA Euro 2008 Tournament, so that means that i've got all the teams done and everything else required for the db. That leaves me with just needing the kits and minis that I don't already have... :jap: :ewan: (C) :)
