View Full Version : SALAS TO JUVE JTNY 21-08-2001, 09:23:AM Salas to Juventus for Darko Kovacevic. I don't think Salas can do that much. Juventus should of bought someone else. Who should of they bought? Should they of bought Salas. DooHast 22-08-2001, 08:29:PM So you don't think that Salas is up to the challenge? Well let's see: Do you know that Marcelo has won the local championship in EVERY league he's ever played in? Not even Ronaldo or Crespo have accomplished this. Maybe the Chilean's got a magic wand or something... LEAGUE TITLES ------------- - 1994: Universidad de Chile. - 1995: Universidad de Chile. - 1996: River Plate (Apertura; Argentina). - 1997: River Plate (Clausura; Argentina). - 1997: River Plate (Apertura; Argentina). - 99/00: S.S. Lazio (Italy). LOCAL CUPS ---------- - 2 Italian Supercups: 1998 (vs Juventus) and 2000 (vs Inter) (Lazio). - 1 Italian Cup: 2000 (Lazio). INTERNATIONAL TITLES -------------------- - 1997: - Supercopa (River Plate; Only played by the winners of the Copa Libertadores). - 1999: - European Cup Winners Cup (Lazio). - European Supercup (vs Manchester United) (Lazio). AWARDS ------ - 1997: "BEST PLAYER OF AMERICA" (Awarded by Diario El Pais from Uruguay). - 1997: OLIMPIA DE PLATA (Awarded by the Circle of sports journalists of Argentina). By the way: Marcelo was also the 2nd Top Scorer in the South American qualifyings for FRANCE 1998 with 11 Goals in 13 games (Only Iván Zamorano ended over him, with 12 Goals). And, finally, he's Chile's ALL-TIME top scorer (with Zamorano) for the his National Team with 34 Goals... and many more to come... Now that you know who Marcelo really is inside the footballistic world, I hope you and everyone else will start looking at him the way that he deserves, because he must be among the Top 5 players in the world. Bye. Nimreitz 22-08-2001, 09:59:PM El Matador (I think that is the name) is definitely up for the challenge. He is a much better player than the dive king, Inzaghi, and Juve should be glad to get him. He is a great striker, probably not in the top 5, but still great, and will score MANY goals this season linking up with Pavel Nedved. Dragan Tucakovic 22-08-2001, 10:03:PM well i'm a Juve fan, and i have mixed emotions about Salas, i mean, i don't think that he'll play to well since Lazio barely used him last year....but then again, the fact that the Juve coach might make him afirst team regular, could motivate him to play really good ;) DooHast 22-08-2001, 10:13:PM Well, Lazio didn't use him much last season because he was injured for a long time. But don't worry, he's not only a great goal scorer but also a great team player, unlike Crespo or López who just care about themselves. Crespo may have scored a bunch of goals last season, but it was Salas who won the scudetto and Juventus is way more powerful tha Lazio. Bye. Edmundo22 24-08-2001, 05:37:AM I must say I was disappointed Salas went to scudetto cheaters Juventus ( no offence , but i will not forgive Juve for buying the refs in the 98-99 season when Inter FC had won the scudetto but Juve got the refs to play on their side and thus steal the scudetto of them - well played Ronaldo :D ). However as Salas said "It would be a great step forward.." he knows that his career cant be hurt by playing some games for Juve...it will keep his value up. I can't see Salas being a Juve player for very long - his heart is not Juventus, but he is a professional futballer that's why he went their. my 2 cents :D http://www.southcitytrucksales.com.au/Edmundo1.jpg [ 08-23-2001: Message edited by: Edmundo22 ] simonius 24-08-2001, 06:31:AM Holy ****to!
