am I missing something? I have injured players but I can't move them into the reserves... so I only have 4 subs because my injured player is taking up space on the bench. Is this a bug or am I dumb?

I just posted about this! It's the same if someone is sent off. As if having only 5 bench players didn't suck enough on its own, they take one away for every injured player or disqualified player. The only way I found to fix this is find the player who automatically subs in when someone is out (in Fiorentina - Chiesa, even if a fullback is out!) and not keep them on the bench. That way your injured player won't end up on the bench. (At least, I know this worked in Fifa 2k, I don't know if it works this year.)
