I'd like to say that Uruguay is the best team in the world... but I won't because I know someone will burst my bubble. So instead... :p :D :p :D :p

Well...in my game of CM 00/01 Uruguay won the World Cup with a win over Argentina in the final.

That sucks though because I really want the see Brazil in the World Cup Finals next year! Ronaldo will be back!!

Brasil is simply on a crisis... not for having lost to Uruguay, but for having the qualification in SERIOUS risk...

alenitchev is right. every four years, brazil are among the favorites to win the world cup, and this year, they're struggling just to get there in the first place. that's utter disappointment for them, as it should be. with the talent pool they have, they should be dominating.

nothing against uruguay, i have no doubt that their victory over brazil was well-deserved and that they are a very good team, but brazil's problems are just accentuated by this recent loss. brazil needed a late penalty just to draw against uruguay at home last summer, and it seems to me they haven't improved a whole lot since then, if at all.

fifth place in the conmebol qualifying plays the winner of oceania, right? brazil is tied on points with uruguay for fourth right now. personally i'd love to see australia in the world cup, but what would it be without brazil?

How come no one mentions the goal by Rivaldo that crossed the line inside with Carini (uruguayan goalie)????????

Well I can't believe my eyes when I see Brazil play nowadays, they got some of the best players in the world and they rank 4th for the qualification.. The loss against Uruguay showed us that Brazil has a huge crisis on their hands and they need to snap out of it quickly otherwise there will be no WC 2002. Can you imagine that??

welldone Uruguay (IMO a very under-rated futbol nation) , they grounded out that result by the sounds of it.. unlucky this time Rivaldo (for his disallowed goal) .
Altho Uruguay has been a nemesis for Brasil in the past , I also remember Brasil spanking Uruguay in the Cop America1999..with a certain Ronaldo ,Rivaldo and Ze Roberto putting in some untouchable performances.
Brasil will qualify and be a threat at the next world cup, no probs.

I think if anyone is to be blamed for this weird ranking for WC 2002 is Argentina. They are giving everyone a royal spanking and kicking serious butt. Brasil is still in shock hopefully this will make them more humble in the future. ha. They can't think they need to show up and automatically qualify it's hard work. The MARACANAZO should have humbled but looks like they quickly forget. Anyways the World CUp won't be the same without Brasil and also Mexico. :D

I think Brazil should stay out of the next WC, just to learn what happens when you don't play with satisfactionon your National team...

Plus, Argentina always fears the high altitude...
And guess who's our last guest in Quito?? yup, you've guessed it, Uruguay!!!.

I believe Argentina and Ecuador will tie in the high altitude. Argentina tied with Bolivia wirh a last minute goal by Sorin 3-3.
It is possible however that Ecuador could score a 1-0. I'm not sure but I bet on a tie.

Yep 1930 something world cup, Uruguay did well :) (no Pele then..) Plus not many of those players will spank Brasil at the next world cup, however - the Brasilian players from copa america99' will be available.. shud be interesting :D

Hey Lito, lamentablemente Uruguay le tiene miedo a la altura, van a perder 2-0, que mas quisieras que Ecuador pierda todos sus juegos para que Uds. que tienen que jugar con resultados de otros, tengan chance para clasificar.
Es duro decir que Ecuador le va a ganar a Argentina, pero asi mismo, el factor altura influye mucho, aunque en las eliminatorias pasadas jugamos en Guayaquil y les ganamos 2-0.

i remember the 1994 world cup qualifiers...brazil had problems and lost to bolivia away... ironically thire last game was against uruguay and they won 2-0 scored by Romario..the ended up as the world champions...

im 100% sure that they'll make it and they'll maintain their rank as one of the best football teams on this planet!

I don't think so, after losing to Ecuador and Urugvay. I don't think that they will go to the finals. They even tied with Canada 0-0! They are crap this year.
