This young chap, Owen Hargreaves looks a very promising footballer don't you think.
I watched him play in the last 2 Championleague matches for Bayern Munich and he is a very determined player. He gets stuck in, has good vision, can take the odd shot and he never stops running, his stammina must be 200%, absolutely amazing!
I'm sure we will hear much more news on this youngster in the future and big clubs will be very keen to bring him to England...
Here's a pic of him for the ones who don't know who he is

England's other Owen....
Very promising indeed..but he looks set to sign a new 5 yr deal with bayern and he'll only consider moving to England as he gets older.

But he'll never play for ManU~!!!;(

I think that one of his parents are English and the other one is Canadian or something like that, he chose to play for England though

I think the commentator said his Mums welsh and his Dads English. Not sure though.
I personally think he played well :) but the Champions League final was a joke. Diving players all over the place. :(

he's a Canadian born...one of his parents are English...so he's eligible for England.

BORN and RAISED in Canada...

Thus I would reckon he is a traitor. Our country needs a lad like Owen to help us make a name for ourselves in football and he turned his back on us. My parents are both English but if I was ever to be in some type of international competition I would proudly stand up and be counted for Canada.

Somebody who plays their way up through a country's sports programs ought to repay that debt. Honestly I think it is a very sad state the way professional athletes have no loyalty.

Or maybe I am just upset...as you can all see Owen is brilliant and will be a top class player in the years to come.

Oh well, I would rather take our captain Jason de Vos who wears the Maple Leaf with pride and bleeds for Canada anyday...

Yeah, he is from Calgary and choose to play for England, because he would play more games and have more chances of winning i think. Because Canada can win nothing. They were lucky to win the Gold cup.

I definitly see the potential in him, but as a nervous Bayern supporter, I was rather upset that Owen was in the starting 11. I would have started the older player, Sforza, and I was not greatly impressed by his playing.

Sure, for a 20 year old he is great, but for a starter in the CL final, I must say that he is mediocre. He is a player for the future, and I don't think he is at that point now. All his shots get deflected, he seems to take one too many touches, and he has slower than desirable reflexes.

Mother from Rhyl, Wales.
Father from Bolton, England.
Raised in Canada.
Moved to Bavaria at age 16.

Eligible for England, Canada, and Wales, so his priorities in terms of national team also fell in that order, as he felt allegiance to England through his father's influence and their high FIFA ranking, and a sentimental attachment to Canada through his childhood. He said on record that Wales was a consideration when he did not think he would play for the other two, though.

Is it just me or does he remind you of someone?
To me he looks just like Steve McManaman...
Both looks and playing style...
