I would like to see the inclusion of a superstar mode in Fifa 08 like that already available in EA's Madden series. The mode plots the player's career from the very beginning. The structure could be something like this:
- You begin by creating a player profile (position, nationality, appearance etc.)
- You could then take that player through a series of training excercises. Based on your performances in those excercises your player would be assigned specific attributes
- The player would then be approached to sign professionally for various teams (the better your performance in training, the more likely you would be scouted by a high profile team)
- The superstar mode would include off the field things like buying and living in an apartment..I know that the superstar mode in Madden includes an apartment and you can take you player to places like tatoo artists and barber shops to alter your appearance
- Once your player has signed for a team, he would train at that club and fight for a 1st team place or play in the reserves
- You would control that specific player in games
- Obviously if you perform well you could be offered a contract extension or be approached by other clubs
- Your salary would also increase if you perform well, allowing you to move into a mansion, and buy better cars etc (like in Madden)

I certainly would love to see EA move Fifa 08 in this direction, or even create a different game for it. What does everyone think?

the career mode is completely wrong. i don't want a manager game in fifa, i want to PLAY and so i think this mode should be from the player's view. i don't want to know about the club's finances, I don't want to get fired if I'm playing bad. If i play bad, put me on the bench! If i'm good, i want offers from other (bigger) clubs and be invited to my national team, so i can play in two teams, club and national. That would be awesome! Playing in a league, an fa cup, champions league, euro/wc qualifiers and final stages! And in between friendlies with club and national team!

That's what I think would be a logical career mode in a game about playing football. There are enough other games about managing it.

I wouldn't like to expand it to some kind of sims, though, not at all, but i would rather skip those apartment/big cars stuff than playing a manager. i think it should be about football, and i'd be happy to play in second/third league, too, having my great successes there like beating a much bigger team in fa cup, and the concept you suggested would make you feel like a loser not playing for Barca or Chelsea.

And life is also not only about how big your your pen... uh... car and apartment is.

:kader: You completely misunderstood what I was saying, the superstar mode would be ALL ABOUT PLAYING. You create a player and PLAY AS THAT PLAYER IN GAMES....The camera would focus exclusively on your specific player and you would be required to control that player and perform specific roles depending on your position (ie. if you are a defensive midfielder you must sit infront of the defence and protect it). If you play poorly you'll sit on the bench the next game and the camera view could be from your eyes directly watching the game on the bench! Madden NFL 06 and 07 have a superstar mode and the camera focusses specifically on that player...

I did understand that it contains the playing of course, I just wanted to say that i always find things like private life of the player a bit strange, you also have that in some manager games I heard. I likethe idea about also only playing this player... that's cool. maybe the ai has to improve for that but i like it very much. that's what a game that's about playing football should be about!

Simple things like options to change players' appearances that existed in earlier versions (FIFA 98 for instance) would be good rather than having to rely on people creating mods for it.

Obvious things like the inclusion of national teams like Holland, Japan etc. It would be good if the licencing issues could be resolved for that.

Another obvious one - more leagues and stadiums.

It really annoys me that there are Brazilian and Swiss teams in there, when the Brazilian and Swiss leagues are included. Either put them in their correct country's leagues or don't include them.

Rather than a Rest of the World League, split it into regions, and more teams.

Include more difficulties at a higher level because i got FIFA 06 back in SEPTEMBER 05 and only stopped playing FIFA 06 less than a couple of weeks after 07 was released so as soon as i got 07 i played 2 games in semi pro and i had to move to world class and that is still too easy (Havent unlocked legandary yet) so add higher difficulties so expirienced gamers of FIFA dont get bored of the gameplay because IT IS TOO EASY

KEEP THE MANAGER MODE , manager mode is sik, ok but overall fifas gotta change few things

Goalies - im sure FIFA know bout this but goalies in 07 are pretty sucky , they dont come out or cheat and have butter fingers inside the box

C.l - if they can get licenses from so much teams and so much leagues why not from UEFA with the theme music and everything so wehn where playing in that tourny it feels special and prestigious

Implement a World PLayer of the year system- so u kno whos been playing reall good and maybe it could be ur created player and if not then u know who to go at the transfer market

WHen playing a rivalry team atmoshphere should be different maybe a different intro

More diverse transfer market - in 07 the only teams that want my star players are AC milan, Liverpool, and Arsenal, i mean wat happend to all the otehr top clubs

Maybe once in a while in manager mode when ur operating under a small team put in something like a new investor is going to take over the club there for more money

The obvious next step with football/soccer games is to combine a management and a Fifa type game into one. The management in Fifa is really crappy compared to that of a Championship Manager. Their needs to be more options to assign to players apart from just marking players. Scouting needs to be improved with more filters, buying and selling players needs to be improved, finding players etc, signing players like i can sign non-EU national when playing in the EPL and yet in real life they would need to get a work permit/half the players wouldn't be able to come to my team. There are tons of other things i find annoying as well.

It doesn't matter what's wrong with Fifa in terms of the management, all that would be fixed by combining it with a management game, like how you can play FM games in Fifa except have it in one game.

And for all those people who are bitching about just wanting to play the game and not worry about management, finances etc, why not just improve/change the tournament mode to almost mimic the manager mode, so you can keep playing forever, promotion/relegation, new random/'youth' players added every year or 2 so the game doesn't run out of players etc

Also please fix the problem where if you do a long ball over the defence the keeper sometimes doesn't come out to get it when they would reach it long b4 the striker does (only an AI prob, obviously we can make our keepers come out).

That brings me to another point, we need to have more control over the keepers, or possibly the ability to put in manual keeping or aytomatic, so that you can select the keeper and move him left/right and press a button to save the ball etc. In 07 it's not bad except you have to press the keeper charge button and then try and move him. It would be easier if say when a shot came in you hold left and the keeper moves left and then press a button as well to make him save it. I thought the keepers in 07 were pretty crappy, but then i figured out how to use the keeper and mine has made some stunning saves since, although the AI keepers don't appear to be that great. By giving the chance to manually control the keeper it would be very useful in player V player games as the better players can manage to save some their opponents shot which in automatic keeper they wouldn't have been able to. Also makes the chances of a keeper error more realistic, if you accidently press the other way or think they are shooting one way and get wrongfooted etc

a Super-Star mode would be nice starting with a player from scratch and build up his stats. Similiar to Fifa Stree, but for FIFA08. Running from club to club. THIS IS A DEFINITE!!!

6. Streaker in finals, huge matches
7. Import your own face via camera as someone else pointed out

10. Match preview (i.e: watching players get off bus, walking through press, fans, pan around the outside of the stadium to soak in the atmosphere before a big match.
11. Few, very few riots in the terraces that spill onto the pitch...but make it context sensitive such as at a River Plate - Boca match.
12. Occasional scuffles on the pitch between players via temper attributes + context.

I know some of it might be controversial. Whether I agree with it or not does not matter. Bottom line is that if it happens in real life, I want it in the game. Period! Total realism is what I want.

And where are the BURNING FLAMES which are lit up in the crowd when v have come back from 0-3 down to 3-3??? Why the hell are the photographers near the piches in awful 2D?? VERY BAD!!

I want offers from spanish league also..

We feel that fifa07 is aweome when viewed in a more close up angle using free cam.. The player movements are really wonderful.. But when i shift to TELE cam i find it is not that attractive.. But in PRO EVO TELE cam's position is cool.. I can see the player's biometrics clearly even in that position of cam.. But in fifa when i very closely zoom only i find the biometrics clearly.. We feel tele cam is very high and no zoom.. Even thou it is adjustable in game.. It is still not attractive.. Please position the TELE cam like the cameraman's angle in most television matches.. Provide the needed zoom.. Make it realistic..

In FIFA the players leaving the pitch is very unrealistic.. In the last scrren u show after match..[zoomed out cam] after match in which u can see all players moving out of the pitch all of a sudden[like they're running out from each position] Home team players must stay and wave to crowds if they've won and sit down on the pitch itself after match for sometime.. In that ZOOMED out camera in both FIFA06, 07 is really bad.. Change the cinematics after match..

We feel the player size ratio with that of the pitch is too small when (esp seen from TELE cam) so they kinda look distorted.. But in PRO EVO we feel that ratio is perfect and that makes us view the player biometrics also from a height.(TELE) In contrast FIFA06 is really good only when viewed up close in FREE CAM.. Only then the player biometrics is seen.. PLEASE CORRECT THIS..

In FIFA06 we found a flaw.. When i gave a cross from the left wing the ball swung in the air beyond the keepers reach and came down right thru the crossbar from the top.. and bounced on the line then it was cleared by a defender.. The ball did not bounce off the crossbar when the ball came from the top.. It just acted like hollow and let the ball thru making it bounce off the goalline.. Please correct this in FIFA 08.. AND KEEPERS GO THRU POSTS WHILE DIVING... CORRECT THEM TOO...

Hi I'm new on here but I've been reading through the posts and I thought I'd put in my two cents on what could be improved on FIFA07 (or for FIFA08).

Obstruction - It seems to me that when tackling players you can obstruct them (even in the penalty area) and not give away a free kick (or penalty), this needs to be looked at.

Lounge - Why have they scrapped putting your name into the lounge and changed it to a stupid icon system?!? Doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever.

Goalkeepers - You can still bring the keeper out and tackle attacking players without the chance of the keeper handling it outside the area or fouling anyone. Which isn't very realistic.

Driven shot - How come it's on the normal x-box version but not on the 360?

Change player - why change this to LT when it's always been pressing pass?

Oh and the crowd looks terrible

I use a widescreen 19' lcd. It works fine if you use winhex to turn on the widescreen. Then customize the .ini file to the preferred resolution. My problem is when I use widescreen (1440 x 900) the placement of the powerbar, name, score, and radar are all in there respective location of fullscreen settings. So it looks like it's in a square, which puts somethigns in the middle of the screen and some off the screen.

1 - Custom Formations.. allow options so that players can create their own formation
2 - Strategies.. allow options so players can decide how attacking a player should be and how strong their defensive roles should be.

3 - Complete logos and kits.. honestly why has EA been so lazy here.
For example - EA for two years in a row (FIFA 06 and FIFA 07) have not included the real logo and real kit and real club name for Korona Kielce (aka Kielce in the game) from the Polish Ekstraklasa. THEN, I check the other clubs in Polish Ekstraklasa, and I find that they give the real kit and real logo to a team like Cracovia, who had no logo and kit last season. Honestly? What is the big deal? EA completes all kits and logos in certain leagues, and then leaves 2 of them without anything???????????? Im sure it doesn't take alot of time to insert a logo and kit into the game compared to something else.

More south american leagues, improve gameplay, more realism in the crowd, photographers, etc...
Real kits for the referees, obviously, depending in the place where is played the match and real referees!!... that would be great

I'd like a Classics mode where you get all the great teams from the past. Licensing will be a problem so for instance, Pele can be known as No 10.1 and Maradona as No 10.2. As along as we can edit their names, I can't see why EA would have any problems.

i would like fifa08 to have a better english commentary. i want them to say a lot more, not just the names of the players etc. it would be cool if they would talk about the ongoing season and past seasons. for example, they could talks about team and player statistics. there is a lot more than that what they could talk about :D

I wouldn't mind being a manager of a few national teams. Instead of having the typical Career Mode, this could go for more than 15 years. You have to pick a squad for a certain amount of friendlies or qualifiers and if you make the tornament, you have to selevt you best 23 players for that team.

i wish i could turn god damn player auto switching OFF. i put it down to 1 bar but it still sucks. so damn stupid, will switch me still. also on world class mode the damn cpu pulls your player down every 5 seconds.

No CPU control of user's selected player whatsoever. This means when waiting for a ball in the air, or a pass on the ground. It annoys the living **** out of me constantly, how your player just casually strolls or stops altogether and lets the CPU have the ball. Mind-blowing.

What does puzzle me is why they don't have all the top stadia at least in Europe and yes you've guessed it if they put each UEFA 5 star stadia in it Ibrox Stadium would be there.

I would like to see the inclusion of a superstar mode in Fifa 08 like that already available in EA's Madden series. The mode plots the player's career from the very beginning. The structure could be something like this:
- You begin by creating a player profile (position, nationality, appearance etc.)
- You could then take that player through a series of training excercises. Based on your performances in those excercises your player would be assigned specific attributes
- The player would then be approached to sign professionally for various teams (the better your performance in training, the more likely you would be scouted by a high profile team)
- The superstar mode would include off the field things like buying and living in an apartment..I know that the superstar mode in Madden includes an apartment and you can take you player to places like tatoo artists and barber shops to alter your appearance
- Once your player has signed for a team, he would train at that club and fight for a 1st team place or play in the reserves
- You would control that specific player in games
- Obviously if you perform well you could be offered a contract extension or be approached by other clubs
- Your salary would also increase if you perform well, allowing you to move into a mansion, and buy better cars etc (like in Madden)

I certainly would love to see EA move Fifa 08 in this direction, or even create a different game for it. What does everyone think?

I agree with you. Although I don`t come from Argentina, my point is that heaps of the stars of tomorrow (Like Gago, Higuain etc.) are coming fro this league.

i think fifa 08 will be more realistic if u choose ur sponsor and the actual symbol of the sponser was actualy on the jersy of the team u piked. I also think fifa 08 will be a better game if it had differnt commentators for different matches and you get to choose who your match is televised by. and also the real premier league numbers at the bak of the jersy's will be good too

Not having the league from Argentina is quite ridiculous, especially with Austria, Belgium, Korea, MLS and Mexico there.

As for your MLS bashing...the League is barely 10 years old so what do you really expect? It will take time for football to become popular in the states. The US National team has to win something first.

Right inclusions in the new 08 verson:

CROWD - A more explosive reaction from the crowd when you score a goal , they dont capture the sudden joy

Also the crowd should react more to other things in the game, maybe when one of the home teams player is running into the penalty box they all stand up n Gee him on

Conditions - NIGHT TIME! - What ever happened to it? I want play night time games

Weather - Rain, snow, fog. Would all be nice. Maybe even pitch conditioning.

Play as one player - Even the offical Euro 96 game had this, and it was good fun. and yes I fully agree put that into a kind of career mode.

Add some kinda of Celebration when you win something, there is very little to add to the sence of achievement in current games, only a little news paper clipping, Have a cut seen, some fire works, players celbrating and a more excited comentator

I have madden myself and the superstar mode is great. Just thinking about a superstar mode for fifa 08 makes me do this --> :bouncy:

I think that all the leagues that don't already have a league below them ( i.e. Scotland, Holland etc) should have there first division, not just the premier league.

Things that can improve Fifa 08:

1.Make some charecters able to cheat like dive for an exampel.
2.More faces, and maybe use the xbox360 camera to take pictures at you and your friends so the created player looks like yourself or like a friend.
(I saw a xbox 360 poker game use this camera to creat players face and they looked good)
3.And ofcourse make the created players have there head left after a few manager modes. (My created players lost there heads after a while).
4.I would also like a guid to creat my own charecters becouse my players were slow and had a terrible ballcontroll while running with the ball.
5.make it easier to dribble
6.I want to see better goalkeepers, diffrents saving moves (in xbox 360 the goolies have like 4 diffrents moves)
7.Be able to creat your own team.

the career mode is completely wrong. i don't want a manager game in fifa, i want to PLAY and so i think this mode should be from the player's view. i don't want to know about the club's finances, I don't want to get fired if I'm playing bad. If i play bad, put me on the bench! If i'm good, i want offers from other (bigger) clubs and be invited to my national team, so i can play in two teams, club and national. That would be awesome! Playing in a league, an fa cup, champions league, euro/wc qualifiers and final stages! And in between friendlies with club and national team!

That's what I think would be a logical career mode in a game about playing football. There are enough other games about managing it.

I wouldn't like to expand it to some kind of sims, though, not at all, but i would rather skip those apartment/big cars stuff than playing a manager. i think it should be about football, and i'd be happy to play in second/third league, too, having my great successes there like beating a much bigger team in fa cup, and the concept you suggested would make you feel like a loser not playing for Barca or Chelsea.

And life is also not only about how big your your pen... uh... car and apartment is.

But this type of manager mode would mess up FIFA all together! If you were one player rather than a manager of a team, then you would have to only have control of that player during a game and that would just simply change the whole game. I think that the management side of it isn't as extensive as other football manager games and it allows you to play the game where many others don't, how would you propose implementing your ideas?????????? Your ideas would have to be to create a different game, FIFA has come too far and has too many fans for EA to change it in the ways you have mentioned!!

I think that EA have taken more steps backward with the Xbox 360 FIFA than forward steps! Like Removing almost all of the leagues and many stadiums, not to mention things like the music that was played as the players run out! I was very disappointed with FIFA 07 for Xbox 360, I just hope that it was teething troubles with it being the first 360 FIFA and that it gets better with the 2008 edition. I want to see atleast some more of the leagues that we could enjoy in FIFA 06, makes the generally dull career mode more interesting.

i think they should spend more time on the players. like man look at willy sagnol. a great defender. now in Fifa07 hes a fatass. i hate it. i want him to be normal. everyones heights and weights should be good. oh and we should be able to buy boots and the movement should be better, along with the graphics!

I would like to see not only more teams
But with more teams, more Champions cups from other continents like the Copa Libertadores, CONCACAF cup and Asian Champion.
It won't be the same without all the leagues but
if you add an Argetinian league
and maybe split the rest of the world in to Rest of South
America/Asia/ Europe/ North America ( like already has been mentioned)
This would give more incentive to play as teams in other continents other than Europe. (Fifa 07 you play in that country's league and cup and that's it. No where to go from there.)

If this is done they could make FIFA Club World Cup so have something to look for after winning the UEFA Champions League or any of the other continents championships.

PC

- Managing team strategy like PES. Being able move individual player's around the formation table for strategic purposes. Letting them play defensively or offensively individually. Wouldn't like to see someone like Makelele on a one on one goal scoring opportunity too many times.

- Need more work on differences between player sprint speed and acceleration. With 07 as long as you use right analog and sprint you can almost outrun any player in defence.

- More and more player animations.

-More individual skills because we all know players like C. Ronaldo, Messi, and Dinho make differences in outcome of games. Should see CPU team utilize the players abilities in game.

- Keep everything from Manager Mode. Need some kind of training mode that is not mandatory. Maybe during manager mode you can get a call for National Team depending on your prestige or apply for one.

- Need more work on player graphics during cutscenes. Whats up with Droggers mouth?

- During free kicks and corners tall players and players with good heading accuracy should be in the box. Same goes when it's against the player or CPU.

FIFA 08 needs alot of tweaking...Overall a good game (cant get my hands off the controller) i want to see these things implemented into the game.
-While playing in MLS I'd like to see the soccer specific stadia being built be implemented for 08 ie, BMO Field, Red Bull Park etc.
- Although i like the idea of Superstar Mode, I'd like to keep Manager Mode but extend it to 30 years. More statistics, Score updates, Newspaper Articles we can read, New Job Offers and better Transfer bidding from outside clubs.If you turn out to be a great manager, then it would be nice to be asked to serve as manager to your national team of choice.
-Is the new superliga between the MLS and Mexican league 1 going to be included?
- US Open Cup with USL clubs going to be included and if not add a few to Rest Of World option with : Rochester, Montreal, Vancouver and maybe Charleston being added to it.

C'mon. FIFA series should be the best all round game so why not have every single competition imaginable added on my favourite game?
- Friendlies between national and club teams, as well as the MLS All Star game being played by atleast a top 10 european club every season in Manager Mode...
- When a club wins the trophy, the team chould look like a champion and not like guys who run around before the end game and stats come up. An Arsenal or Inter should be on a podium with confeti and fireworks with blaring fans chanting the clubs unique chants.
- World Player Of the year, GoAltender of the year, Golden Boot, AND world youth player of the year awards.
Trust the consumer EA Sports. We know what we like and thats reality within the game itself. Th emore realistic the look and the more to do the more units bought and the more we love the beloved FIFA Series. No one hold a candle to your series but you dont make it hard for a rival to take your spot. Go Toronto FC AND ADD CANADA TO THE INTERNATIONAL option.

one more thing. While walking with Pace control we should be able to do step over or fake shot/pass. If player/cpu is pressing safe tackle button they fall for the step over or fake shot, maybe also depending on how good their defending skill is. If contain button(R2, 8 on logitech) being held the defender contains.

I would like:

The Serbian naitonal team.

More club teams from Serbia, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and top three or four teams
from other leagues.

Better goalies.

A Superstar mode. Work out, sign deals with weaker teams at first move up. Sign deals with nike or something when you get good, and at the end of your career you should become a maneger or get a bonus in maneger mode if you use the same guy.

I want to be able to generate a face for manegers...I don't like that there already made.

Fix corners...taller players move up...goalies are smarter.

The ability to dive? A little cheating now and then can be a good thing.

I don't know why they took Man of the Match out of the game. I don't think you can trap the ball standing still. Should be added to the game. Being able turn standing still and trapping the ball. Trap and cover with defender behind for deferent one two passing opportunities.

When you pick a player to substitute a little window in the corner should pop up and you can see him warming up. Like running, taking his training clothers off, talking to the manager.

In Game

1. Score in top corner to reflect the league you are playing in. Ex: Premiership, Bundisliga, French Ligue 1, Champions League, FA Cup, etc.

2. More of a TV style opening presentation and to be league specific to create that certain atmosphere. Atmosphere is the hardest thing to recreate. It’s all in the little details.

4. Hostility Meter- Raises with bad calls, viscous tackles, cards, etc. Starts higher for rivalries. Ex: Man United vs. Arsenal would start with a high intensity as opposed to Liverpool vs. Bolton. That’s not to say the rivalries can’t be created. If a game starts tame and then gets very physical and ends on a high note, the next game between the two clubs would start on a higher level of hostility whether it is a cup game or a league fixture. Once the level gets to about 90%, things will start flying onto the pitch. You want to avoid getting to 100% though because the clubs may be fined for their part. It’s not to say that both clubs would be fined. If one team is out of control and the other is playing responsible football, only one team may be charged. If this happens too many times during the course of a season, a team could see a deduction in points next term, relegation or even a ban from European Play for a season. The object then becomes to play a fair responsible game of football, but that doesn’t always happen.
5. In Game ticker- gives updates on games happening at the same time you are playing as well as games that have already been completed that day. If you need 3 points to overtake Arsenal for the league lead and a ticker pops up saying they are losing to Chelsea, you know you best win the game to take top spot.

6. More injuries- Injuries don’t only happen during a tackle, they happen when players jump for the ball and clash heads or come down on their ankle wrong. They happen when players block shots. Goalies get injured when they charge for the ball and a player doesn’t stop or when they dive for it and come down on their shoulder. There are so many more possibilities. I don’t like to see injuries, but they are a big part of the game and they give your reserves and youths a better shot at the senior team.

World class mode for 07 player gets dragged down over and over again when they out pace a player and the offender never gets a card. Should work that out so if they do get a card they get smarter and not drag players down over and over and over and over and over and over again. It's annoying.

Jersey Closet- Every time you beat an opponent, their jersey goes into your jersey closet. I guess its equivalent to swapping jerseys at the end of the game. For Example: If you were to beat Manchester away, their red jersey would go in your closet and if you were to beat them at home, their white jersey would go in your closet. Since you can choose which jerseys they wear at the beginning of the game, you can determine which jersey you get if you win. There could be rewards for collecting jerseys. Collect a jersey from every premiership team and you get some sort of bonus. You can also view your closet at anytime to see which jerseys you have collected and figure out which ones you need. Some of the bonuses could be retro jerseys or something.

Well first of all..the training games are pretty crap, so maybe more depth in training mode. What's football training without dribbling around cones with the ball?, or sprinting with your team mates?, or doing some long distance cross country running?.

Someone mentioned about shirt swapping..maybe if you could swap shirts..say you're a lower league team who play chelsea in the fa cup, and your ground is very sludgy so at the end you end up with frank lampard's dirty shirt and then you can have a wardrobe back in your apartment, with all the shirts you've swapped with people. Rewards for gaining shirts at the end of matches are a good idea as well, so you'll get say..6 points for whatever if you get a chelsea shirt, and like 2 points for a fellow league team's shirt. Would be good for when you look back and think..'yea i remember that game' as you stare at frank's shirt.


Another idea of mine is a match at half time just doesn't come up as a menu and automatically the 2nd half starts. How about team talks at half time. Picture this... it's a grim day with rain and grey skies, you're playing man utd in the fa cup and you're in league 3. At half time it's 2-0 and you think you can't win. Your manager can step in and rouse the team and tells each player individually what they have to do like 'make more runs into the box...beat the offside trap...get some crosses in'.

Something simple..have extra time announced when a board goes up saying '3'

When you play away, fans shout 'heeeeey!!' as your volley goes flying over. And home fans shout louder as you go into the away side's area.

The possibility of disallowed goals, shirt tugging and hand-ball would be a key area for realism..even climbing onto another player when a corner
is taken.

Also injured players shouldn't be allowed to play as soon as they've healed..like, if your star striker comes back from a broken leg, it would be silly
to play him for a full 90mins, so in fact the last 10 mins would be a great way for him to recover even further and boost his confidence.

I'd like to see fights break out on rare occasions like a penalty been given in stoppage time.

Different shaped nets for different teams..even rusty goalposts for 3rd league teams

All in all..i want to be able to look at my squad in the changing rooms..see their differences and helping each other..and not in cut scenes either.

EA sports, the biggest sport games company, with the fifa range which sells millions uon milions of copys every year, yet the designers still dont know that fans are SEGREGATED! how hard is it to have all the home fans in the same shirts, even the same colours as the home team, and then a seperate away following.

furthur more, how long do we have to see the fans cheering to a goal before youve even shot. come on, please, i love fifa, but the little things really annoy!

how about fan realism, i am not talking pitch invasion, but how about standing up when 1 on 1. or even in demos after scoring. Henry may taunt the oposing fans which cause a reaction. away teams could even run to their section of fans when the score to celebrate,( with the home fans still sitting in the background,THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENS EVERY SATURDAY!)

still on the fans topic, how about adopting a little, create a staduim mode, nothing in great detail, but a choice of different stands, with the changing of colour,put a few crests up, or buy large screen tvs, to gain cash via more addvertising, its all possible EA!, it may mean being able to create a a stadium that looks ever so slightly like your teams, ime no sherlock, but ive noticed that 14 teams in the championship all play in the same stadium, i dont know if ime home or away.

and finally, this year when your recording the chants, and i was mpressed with the amount of chants available in 07. GET SOME MORE PEOPLE TO RECORD THE SONGS!, at the moment the chants sound like 5 drunks coming out of a pub on friday after a few to many. your trying to create the illusion of 10,000 crazy united fans in your livingroom, not a bad casting of soapstar superstar.

i seriously believe that investment in the minor details, will create a better game all round.

I think that ea should create the managers of the teams aswell as the player, e.g. in cutscenes see them talking etc

i heard they aren't making 08 for PS3. Which is not smart in EA's case because they should have been in development as soon as they heard the PS3's launch. In any case if they were to make it for both consoles the PS3 version should have better A.I. if they truly put in the effort and plenty of disc space for all the teams they want to put in the game.

To me, personally, I don't need special stuff like superstar mode or manager mode (though it is a good alternative when you are bored playing league).
All i want is very realistic graphics, gameplay, celebrations, you know stuff you see when playing a football match, it should be more realistic and not buggy. i would also like to play in a league and have things like champions league intertwined within the league i am playing (sorry i dunno if they did that already) also stuff like multiple matches, e.g., one day you're playing man utd, next day ac milan for champions league.

i dunno i just want realism.. i just want to play something i know i wont forget the next day or feel bored about.

one more thing. it shouldnt be that easy to play fifa. need something in the middle of fifa and pes because in my opinion pes is kind of hard.

In Fifa 08 they should

Give the MLS more respect and make the teams better or have a higher rating because the MLS is getting better and i think could compete in the english premiership.. for example dc united beat celtic 4-0 but celtic is rated much higher in fifa 07 this is wrong

hey!!!! i don't really want to be a hypocrite...but fifa 07 is too good....by this i mean there is hardly any mistakes made by the players...eg.the ball passes under their foot..misjudge the bounce...first touch is always good! also i would like to see more tournaments and the right names! fifa 06 keepers were awesome...but now on fifa 07 there as good as david seaman...rubbish!
and can you get the crowd more involved...sing their own unique songs for their clubs....have flares and banners, and when the away team always score why do the home fans boo? and like the do on match of the day....have a birds eye view of the stadium and zoom in on it!!

1> I better game scheduling system, so you don't get 2 games in a day, or three games in 2 days.

2> Also explainations from your players as to why they have low morale or are refusing a new contract.

You should be able to have the sponsor you choose on your kit, and be able to choose the design of a selection of kits for the next season.

But I also think that they should team up with Konami and make a game called 'FifaLution' lol (Fifa Evolution). So the customing, the way the players run, jump and everything, except free kicks and corners, they should stay the same as Fifa. The Menus, and Game Modes should be the same as Fifa as they are so clear and ace.

The major things i'd like to see changed is being able to have more control over editing current players, getting rid of Anton Ferdinand's stupid 'tache', more hair options and facial options available.

Also I would love to see tattoo's for the first time, all they need is arm, forearms and such, just where they can be seen. Considering that alot of players now have them I think this would be a major step towards a even more realistic game.

I'd like to see a wider range of kit changes and editing current teams, including sponsorship, badges and kit logos. So when the season ends you can change to keep up to date.

Also I'd love to see the squads going up to maybe 40 players rather than 30, that way more reserve and fringe players can be put on the teams.

Balls and ad boards for specific competitions. If you are playing in the UEFA CL I wanna see the official ball and adboards instead of the generic ones for the club playing at home. Also I dont want to hear "First goal of the competition... that suprises me thought he had 1 or 2 already" in the first bloody game of the competition!

The improvement i'd like to see made to Fifa 08 are a major change of the free kick and corner system, the one in 07 is terrible, i aint scored one goal from a free kick, corners are just as bad.

i still remember when i played fifa99.. when i press Q the player will do bad action like tackle the cpu player's knee/ waist, push the cpu player.. when alt+Q the player will suddenly fall down (pretend that they being push by someone).
the gameplay of course when we select world class the cpu players really do more action skills that works.. not like recent fifa which they do more stupid actions n unnecessary moves on the field. the new engine used on fifa07 is the best football game engine but really need to be fully utilize. come on ea! :bob:

For me if the gameplay is improved would be the biggest thing. I would like to be able to switch off player switching completely. Even when you turn it down fully it still switches and as I play mostly online it drives me mad.
The auto clearance drives me mad too when I'm trying to do a quick pass under pressure. When you have two defenders with two attackers coming against them, one defender is pressuring the ball and you are controlling the other one covering the other attacker, but as soon as the ball is passed the covering defender makes a scrited dash or turn and you are out of position. Very annoying.
And when you have a midfielder slected but the attacker has beaten him so you try to select a defender, it just switches between the chasing midfeilders instead of switching to the defenders.
Its poor programming and testing. Let me switch to the players I need to do the job.
I need less scripting too. In the area when you are defending after a shot and the ball is parried around the six yard box, the defenders are scrited to freeze and sometimes they just stay frooze watching the crowd behind the goal until the attacker or keeper gets the ball. Is this football?

But EA wont pay a scrap of notice as been said.

My biggest wish would be to see more management features in manager mode. Simulation of other leagues running concurrent to your league, simulation & scheduling of reserve games, that kind of stuff. Incorporate alot of stuff from Fifa Manager into Fifa Football and you've got a way better game with way more replayability.

I agree that more player edit options are a must for more personalisation of the game (a reason why I used to adore FIFA 99 :D).

Now for my short list of recommendations:

GAMEPLAY

1) I would prefer an interactive game, with real players' reactions to the game and responses that involve the gamer. You remember FIFA 04? Where dead balls used to have a virtual directional pad (U,D,L,R) on the screen allowing you to choose from diverse playing scheme? FIFA can implement that same sort of thing after an action (e.g. a narrowly missed goal) where the U button will make the manager encourage the players, L make the manager shout at the shooter not to play by himself, etc.. These may not have oly graphical effects, but e.g. the U (encourage) will boost team morale, L (shouting) decrease individual performance, higher chances of missing etc. Such situations where this sort of thing might occur are the times where cutscenes are seen during the game (missing goals, fouls, throwins, and maybe even a "rare" fight taking place some distance from the ball, and I say rare because in reality they tend to become a tad more common in hotter games);

2) More involvement from the opposition. Say you cross dangerously well. An opponent may try to make a deliberate handsball with a combinaton of keys (say L2 and R2). I'm sorry to say that I have been disappointed with the interpretation of handsballs in FIFA games, with such fouls often being punished by nothing more than a simple freekick. FIFA 08 can implement such fouls with diverse situations, where players can be pnished from a simple freekick to send-offs. Also, point 1) can be newly implemented here, where e.g. U makes the player who fouled argue with the ref, getting a higher chance of booking/send-off, L makes the whole team argue with ref, with possibilities of multiple bookings/send-offs, U makes the players stay passive, and R makes the team + manager argue with ref, with again a whole range of possibilities of sanctions;

3) In UEFA CL 04/05 it was claimed that the ref is prone to take wrong decisions (no offsides given, ignoring fouls...). I have NEVER seen such wrong decisions. The ref seemed to give fouls for even the most minuscule of offsides. A "decision range" (of a similar type to the penalty shot meter in WC06) can be implemented (no need to be seen on screen, of couse) for the refs (and it's about time we see some diverse linesmen and a decent fourth official) such that the better refs have less chance to make mistakes (but are still capable of making them), whilst the worse ones will be highly prone to making such mistakes;

4) In-game involvement may be improved, with more fouls and opponent pressure occurring near the side lines (as in TV), more realistic aerial challenges (with players elbowing thanks to user controls), and freekicks for dangerous play, something I have, to date, never seen in a FIFA game;

5) More responsive games. In previous FIFAs, hot games against the big of the league, or maybe a cup knockout in its advanced stages, tended to bring about more fans to the stadiums in play. More responsive action to these types of games could involve: fights breaking out (even distances away from the ball), dirtier fouls (something which may depend on the teams' defending mentalities - again, a sign of live response), more responsive crowds in reaction to important goals or bad fouls (cheering, jeering, etc.), and a sort of "attendance statistic" which works out more fans of one important team than the other (resulting in more chants to their team and more booing, jeering and whistles for the other team during different ball possessions);

6) We need more realistic in-game response and reactions from the players themselves. Take positioning, for example. How can players like Roberto Carlos or Zambrotta first race all the way to the corner flag of the opposition, lose the ball, have their respective team commit a foul and "magically" see them flanked on the back of the pitch when time has just passed enough for the ball to be placed on the freekick spot?! Where are the quick freekicks? To pass a ball to a teammate a minimum of 3 to 5 seconds must first pass! Where are the counterattacks? With such positioning as mentioned above, it's inexistent, of course! AND how can a computer player first race up all the length of the pitch, loses the ball, and gets involved in a counterattack by following the opponent with the same speed (if not faster!) and stamina?! Or are they taking virtual steroids?!!

GRAPHICS

1) The graphics in FIFA 07 were convincing enough for me to believe that the game has its own aesthetic improvements, especially for the new plethora of animations we've seen. BUT I don't understand how one animation is linked to the other in the same way as in FIFA 2000! Fluency of animation is bad. A player losing a ball is unbalanced by his opponent, but keeps the same, linear orientation? That's quite previous-gen;

2) The way in which the players turn about at normal pace. I am absolutely certain that no player turns each little turn EXACTLY by 45° each time! But in FIFA 07 and the older family (well, FIFA 2002 had players which did not run exactly like that, but it was a question of camera choice of play), we got that all the time! How about some new, more natural directions of play which eventually turn out to the desired one? Like a sort of small circular movement? I think that would be more natural;

3) Change of pace using R2 was much convincing, IMHO, in the defensive stages of the game, but not much when it comes to hanging of possession. In fact, the players, rather than hang to the ball, tend more to lose it;

MODES OF PLAY

1) The Career Mode in FIFA has been solid ever since its first appearance in FIFA 04 (my first ever team in Career Mode being Ternana). There was a glitch, however, in the choice of teams as from FIFA 05 onwards, where you had to start with the lower classes. Changing the line-up of the first teams to the worse reserves allowed one to pick up teams like Inter or Man.Utd as their starting stone! Why don't FIFA just start it off from the lower leagues, period?

2) A lot of cups are available to play in FIFA games, but each of the cups ends in the same obscure way. Why do the players just hop around the stadium for a minute or so when they win a cup?! On TV, we do see them hopping around, for a quarter of an hour - that is, before the medals awards. Speaking of which, the set-up must take place, and a podium set up is the least we like to see. The losing team is still awarded a silver medal (including the manager), then come the referees, with their special prizes, and finally, each of the winning team's players, including reserves (still in their jackets), keepers without gloves, and manager. All this is followed by THE CUP ITSELF. It could be a small, football-shaped crystal orb, or it could be the heavy, silver Champions League Cup - it still deserves importance, not to mention a decent appearance in the cutscene. How about some fireworks? THe importance of the cup may change things such as these, from little (such as paperworks) or nothing, to a full set of synchronized fireworks in the team's colour (for the more prestigious leagues and cups). After awards, players may be seen giving off interviews to TV journalists, or making all sorts of joyous celebrations, including a round-the-pitch run.

That said for cups, leagues could still have that sort of thing (e.g. the Bundesliga shield, or the Serie A league), with maybe even the players wearing a special edition of their kits in view of their newly won league (as in Serie A often happens).

3) If we need more teams, then at least let us balance them! Why do we get a lot of English sides, but no Second Division in the rarer leagues? Come to speak of that, why doesn't the Italian league have the Serie C1, C2 and D leagues implemented? What about the others (France, Germany, Spain)? A good idea (because here I know I am requesting too much) is that of creating continent-based versions of FIFA (Europe, Asia, Americas etc, or UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONACAF etc.) which will base themselves with the region concerned. I am Maltese, and would have LOVED to see at least the national squad in the games.

4) Is it impossible to have a decent player editor? EA, we would LOVE it. Why can't we have players who stick to their appearance throughout all the season? In FIFA 99, if a long-haired player shaved his head, the first thing I did when I came to know of it was load the game and fix that appearance right away. If the editing option for these details is really impossible for the custom (not generic-faced) players, a good idea for the online consoles would be that of updating the game in this aspect as well, so a download patch for players' appearances would be available in the lounge every now and then, say at least at each of the transfer windows.

5) Speaking of editing, I would again LOVE to have some detailed editing for players. It's worth mentioning twice. And please, it's useless for us to be able to edit our Created-Player-Nobody's nose when it's other in-game players' noses which I want to edit! The union of the two would be really powerful, and of course it gives greater realism to the aesthetic aspect of the game.

6) Last, but not least, I would ADORE a TEAM EDITOR, complete with sponsor creations, editing of each part in great detail, and the like! But I have requested so much, I wouldn't really mind if this were not implemented in FIFA 08 :D.

i would like in the first few replies where you control a player and have an apartment but in like the citys such as madrida or manchester where you can free roam like in GTA: san andreas and you have to make it to matches on time :P

when you score a goal u should still be able to control
your player and different buttons should do different celebration
if u choose to jump in the crowd or take off your shirt you should be
yellow carded

i think EA is not pay too much attention about manager mode.....it's too easy handle the stadium....unlike the real world....the management is majority about the squad...not on the player(some).the sponsors like out of this world...it should be like more real type....example nokia,intel,n others.....

I would like to see a system similar to Fifa Manager 07 where you can just drop new kits and stadiums into a user folder instead of having to import them into the zdata files and regenarate the fifa.fat file as this I am sure ruins the gameplay.
Also, I would like more Eastern European teams and South American teams

And have a home advantage like Fifa Manager 07 to make it authentic

I completely disagree, i am south african but i gotta admit,south african teams suck.pirates and chiefs are enough.and creating ur own stadiums is rideculous it's just not realistic,expanding the would be ok.fifa just need a few touch ups,like some players should wear gloves and long sleeves in winter

i don't care about more teams, more stadiums.. i only wish that the future fifa games would be improved in terms of gameplay and common sense features, like allowing goalies to get red cards, easier player selection so that a runaway ball goes to the player who is in the best position to score etc...

I would like to see the inclusion of a superstar mode in Fifa 08 like that already available in EA's Madden series. The mode plots the player's career from the very beginning. The structure could be something like this:
- You begin by creating a player profile (position, nationality, appearance etc.)
- You could then take that player through a series of training excercises. Based on your performances in those excercises your player would be assigned specific attributes
- The player would then be approached to sign professionally for various teams (the better your performance in training, the more likely you would be scouted by a high profile team)
- The superstar mode would include off the field things like buying and living in an apartment..I know that the superstar mode in Madden includes an apartment and you can take you player to places like tatoo artists and barber shops to alter your appearance
- Once your player has signed for a team, he would train at that club and fight for a 1st team place or play in the reserves
- You would control that specific player in games
- Obviously if you perform well you could be offered a contract extension or be approached by other clubs
- Your salary would also increase if you perform well, allowing you to move into a mansion, and buy better cars etc (like in Madden)

I certainly would love to see EA move Fifa 08 in this direction, or even create a different game for it. What does everyone think?

This was exactly what i was expecting and hoping for when i heard about the Be-a-pro career mode. was a major dissapointment when it turned out that they didn't even have a close third-person view camera or the ability to be bought by other clubs.

I want a REFEREE mode.
* Control the referee to get the best angle on the action.
* Blow whistle - stop play - choose correct restart. AND correct location of restart - special circumstances of Law 8!
* Call fouls/misconduct - sanction players.
* Get inspected.

I want an ASSISTANT REFEREE mode.
* Run up and down the sideline using controls - try to stay in line with 2nd last defender.
* Call offsides.
* Call corners/goal-kicks.
* Call ball in/out.
* Call fouls/misconduct.
* Get inspected.

What a great training tool this would be for FIFA!

FIFA 98 had a great INDOOR SOCCER mode. It was not futsal because you had balls bouncing off walls but it was great fun. Futsal would be better.

Please bring in a FUTSAL competition or at least bring back the old indoor mode.

The things I hate about 08 are that its impossible to tackle opposition players. They randomly start running away from you or towards the sidelines and then you try closing them down, they pass it someone and they continue to do this until they reach your penalty box and score!

Also when you are attacking they have every single player back, they get the ball back easily and then they suddenly have all their players in attack!

Lastly goalkeepers seem to get every single ball from corners. Wherever I cross it, the goalkeeper comes out and wins the ball, you can't even control your own players. They just stand there hoping they will get the ball.

I just want these things to be fixed.

Hello, I come probe ribbon here my doubt, I am Brazilian administrating of a fifa site www.independentefifa.com!

I noticed in my editions that UEFA Chapions League has two table forms, the Table of games and the table of classification of the groups.

Then like this in my patch he has several regional championships would like to know how to put those two tables in them since only to get puts the table of games and no the one of classificationin the groups.

Then that is my doubt as I came that here has great several editors.
