That's interesting, because I thought you could only have one scout out at a time. Is that something that changes with higher teams/better scout rating?? (I've started with Wycombe and my staff ratings are all very poor - starting at 1 or 2)

I don't see anything to suggest that scouting has changed from FIFA 06 (the INI file entries are all the same, for instance) which means that a deep scout will involve searching for 12 'weeks' (actually 12 of the manager's team's games). Each 'week' the scout has a 15% chance of finding a player, which means that you would expect (on average) to find two players during a deep search, but being partly random you might find none, or could potentially (although hugely unlikely) find 12.
