Sure.

I'd love to see RR play his Accrington Stanley against my Newcastle United and see how it turns out. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif Just joking.

But I'm convinced that all the armless Siberians in the world won't save you from THE ONE AND ONLY.....

Sheeeeeeaaaaarrrrrerrrrrrrrrrr!

Well, I live in Wisconsin and still haven't gotten around to ordering my copy of CM 00/01, so I may have to miss the first few challenges. I want to get to know the game first before any challenges anyways.

With you amatures, this should be a breeze!! I can just picture a challenge by RR....

You are Boston United and have 15 years to promote to the Premiership. The only catch is that you cannot buy players except from this obscure Siberian club. The club is actually a haven for armless players from around the world!

Just kidding about that, but I think I can do well. It's only a little friendly jabbing, I'm sure you are pretty good. But in my Barca, yes Barca, (it's easy, but fun to win) I have no losses in La Liga, one loss in CL, and no losses in Copa del Rey. My team is amazing. I've beaten Real Madrid 3 times, Valencia 2 times, and am about to advance to the Quarter finals in CL. Even my scrubs win!

I know!

I went undefeated all season with PSG in the French First Division. Before that I won Champions League, Seria A, Champions Cup and just about everything else with Parma.

But then I moved to Newcastle. I became so accustomed to picking a squad of 20 million pound super-players that I forgot how hard it is to manage even a smaller big club like Newcastle.

I imagine I may be able to mount a Championship challenge within 2 seasons. Until then, I'm correcting the mistakes of my predecessor.

Once I win the EPL with the Toon, I will retire for a few years until I find a team in the English lower divisions with enough potential to succeed.

Or until they fire Kevin Keegan and appoint me. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

I know, Nimreitz. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Still going with Liverpool for now. I've used Barcelona before, I enjoyed it but after a while it did lose some of its fun. I've managed smaller clubs and while I've never done anything on the scale of RR's Juvenoterra Gela (sp?) I did do reasonably well.

So how many of us are in?

Nimreitz - it's all good! I'm sure you suck too!!!! he he http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well, I am managing England now.... doin a lot better than Keegan, let me tell you!!! I finished second in Euro, narrowly losing to Sweden who went on to lose to Ireland of all teams! Tactics-wise, I feel bad putting one of Phillips, Owen or Cole on the bench so I decided on a 3-forward formation... it's been working like a charm for me! I usually go with J.Cole in the middle left, P.Scholes in the middle, D.Beckham on the right... one defensive midfielder K.Dyer (that guy if freakin good!) and three at the back. And no old geezers (like Cum, erm Semen) on my team!!! And I am 2-0, with an aggregate score of 9-1 in my 2 WCQ games (7-0 vs. Cyprus and 2-1 in Belgium).

I've managed some big teams too (ManU) but that gets boring after a while...... my favourite team has to be Wolves in cm3... yes, Robbie Keane is god in that game but I signed Rio Ferdinand from West Ham when they were relegated for real cheap $ and then I signed Harry Kewell and Emile Heskey, among others on Bosmans... all on the road to CL glory!!!

And I can't believe Russian Rocket hasn't replied to this post yet?!?! Where are you comrade?? http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Then again, he is probably taking his team of armless Siberians to the Champions League final or something ridiculous like that!!!

Yeah, I've done England too. I got so f*cking frustrated at all the injuries. It seemed like a rule that before every game, 2 more of my starting 11 had to get injured! IT SUCKED! I took England to the Final and lost to a Cannavaro and Maldini less Italy. It was actually an accomplishment only to lose 1-0 to the bastards. Alan Smith, Michael Grey, Southgate, Butt. I had to call them up. Bowyer played right wing instead of Macca.

Against Italy my Team was

----------Martyn
Woodgate-Campbell-Ferdinand
Beckham-Lampard-Gerrard-Bowyer
----------Scholes
-------Fowler--Heskey

THIS TEAM COULD NEVER BEAT ITALY!!

Heskey and Fowler! Lampard and Bowyer in the Euro 2000 starting 11. I had Sutton on the squad on the team for a few games! Owen, Phillips, Macca, Cole, Beckham(for 2 games), Egiou, and many more, were injured during Euro 2000.

No more International management for me! Too frustrating.

Got my copy today (early, I suppose).

Using Liverpool as I was when I stopped with 99/00, 1st in the Premiership after four league matches.

A big difference in this game in comparison with 99/00 is the player values. If I recall correctly, the highest values in 99/00 were often around 13 to 14 million pounds, at least within the first five years or so. In 00/01, Zidane is currently valued somwhere up around 24 million.

South American clubs also seem to be a lot harder to crack for younger players than they were in 99/00.
