I think Fergie will stay with 4-4-2 ,but someone should be on the bench then, with Nicky Butt. And it will be a hard choice for Alex to decide whom to take off Paul or Ryan?

what Fergie will do is sit someone and give him a chance game to game..the midfield will be Keane/Butt as DM, Beckham as RM, Giggs as LM, and Scholes/Veron as AM.. If Veron can play as a left or right winger, he will sub either Giggs or Beckham tim to time.. So after all 5-6 Man. U. midfielders will play over 30 games in a season, while only 4 usually play in a match.. Besides, injuries happen too... So if on the first game of the season versus Fulham Fergie takes Scholes out instead of Veron, it does not mean that's how they will continue playing forever...

I'm not trying to say that Newcastle are better than the red devils ...
... but we all know what hapened last time Shearer played against Manchester United at St James Park ......

I doubt Veron will play on the right flank. David Beckham will have it. Besides, United have confirmed that Becks will still wear the no. 7 jersey next season, like most of the man u legends did... eric cantona, george best...

Veron, what a signing, ya know he's a quality player, good passing, great vision, scores great goals :)

Another option would be to play 3 at the back(leave out silvestre) 4 in midfield, one attacking midfielder in scholes and v.Nistelrooy partering Cole or Solskjaer up front....Fergie has a wealth of options.
I also heard that Lizerazu was very interested in a 3 year offer United had offered him....

I think Veron is a terrific addition to the United squad, he'll do for us, what Vieira does for Arsenal (or whoever he ends up playing for). Scholsey is more of a Cantona type player and I think would be better played behind Van Nistelrooy and A.N. Other. Or he could play in a 4-4-1-1 formation behind the striker. Either way, I think Veron and Keano in the centre of midfield is gonna be pretty awesome next season and with Becks and Giggsy on the flanks firing in those pinpoint crosses for RVN I'm sure that like me, most Man Utd fans are really optimistic about 2001-2.
As for dropping Silvestre, I don't agree, he's fast becoming a damn good defender and after a shaky start is really beginning to make a breakthrough in France's national team. Anyway United have played a flat back four for years and it's proven to be a good system.

Yeah, i heard' that Lizarazu said that his offer is not dead yet and on friday i think, he will have a meeting with Man U. About the shirt for Veron, there is no way that someone will take Beckham's number or place,he is a playmaker most of times and no one will change his number. I think that Roy will have to fight for his first team place. I mean hard work, ofcoarse. :D :D :D

Where do you guys think Scholes will fit in the squad. I also heard that Beckham wanted to move in to the middle of the United midfield similar to where he plays on the National team now (that could be a problem with Veron). And what about the forwards situation... any ideas?

Fergie told the Dutch press that v Nistelrooy will start in the line-up so he's first choice. His number will be Nr 9 according to Ferguson. Probably Yorke is the unlucky player who has to make room for him.
Beckham will keep his number for sure and he will remain on the rightwing as always, according to Fergie Beckham's a very important player for United and the way he wants United to play. He only hopes that Beckham will be more consistent next season cause everybody knows he had his ups and downs this season but he has every confidence in him and in the 'new' team.
He's also happy to have signed Veron after all and sees an important part for him in this team, he wants Veron to play like he did with Lazio but more as a unit with Keano.
He told all this to Dutch Journalists who were curious about the progress of Ruud v Nistelrooy of course and he answered most of their questions so that's decent of him isn't it :D
Btw: it seems that Cole will wear nr 10 in the next season.
In two weeks v Nistelrooy will play his first game for ManU in a trainingmatch and than we'll see.

Veron will be wearing number 23 next season not number 7, he only wore number 7 for training and the numbers in training aren't the same as used for matches

Think about signing Lizerazu. I think United want a WORLD class full back to go with their collection of world class midfielders, strikers and defenders. Buying Lizerazu, even for one season, could be a great influence on Silvestre. And it could turn him into the player that we all hope he'll be, both internationally, and domestically.

If you remember what happend way back in the 95/96 season when Newcastle Utd sighned Faustino Asprilla, even though he played well during the season you will remember that something went wrong and he left the club the following season. I think that this might happen to Veron
