I'm sick of seeing ads like "Nike - the brand of champions"... What teams wearing Nike have won a championship or European cup? let me see...
1996: Germany (adidas) beats Czech Rep.(Puma)
1998: France (adidas) beats Brazil (nike)
2000: France (adidas) beats Italy (kappa). Both Netherlands and Portugal missed the Final

teams
Portugal: Puma (Boavista)
Spain: adidas (real madrid)
Germany: adidas (Bayern)
Italy: Kappa (Roma)
France: Le Coq Sportif (Nantes)
England: Umbro (Manchester utd)
Scotland: Umbro (Celtic)
Netherlands: nike (PSV weeeeeeeeee! at last one :p )

CL:

98 Real (adidas ?) - Juventus (Kappa ?)
99 Manchester (umbro) - Bayern (adidas)
00 Real Madrid (adidas) - valência (nike)
01 Bayern (adidas) - valência (nike)

So, the big "brand of champions" is quite a failure...

I would say nike for the best kits though, I 'm a big PSV fan (at last one :p ;) )
And I must say they have great kits now, just like the one of the national Dutch team with (finally) black shorts, and much better looking than the other kits in Holland. And since PSV has Nikekits they become league champions for 3 times, and once won the national cup, and 4 Dutch Supercups. Not to bad huh? Now Ajax has Adidas, and they don't win a trophy, maybe they even mis European football because they can stille become 6th in the league. So here in Holland Nike(PSV) are the big winners against Adidas(Ajax).

Maybe they aren't the champions in soccer (football). But, in just about everything else they are the champions or number one supplier(i.e. us football, basketball).

And in soccer, look at their boots. I am sure some Bayern Munich player had some Nike boots, henceforth - Nike is the brand of champions. Hehe

Oh, BTW. I hate Nike. :D

I'm not a subtitute for Sherlock Holmes but I realised this.
Davids wears Nike, Frank de Boer wears Nike and both had been acused of taking drugs, this would hint that the drugs are in the Nike football boots, it's the material.
OK Kids, never buy Nike!

Ahh..I can see that I have yet again gone off-topic :D

This players from PSV play on Nike boots: Van Nistelrooy(played the last two years on Adidas, is now going to Manchester United), Kezman (first year at PSV, scored 24 goals in the league, is topscorer in Holland), Van Bommel(the best PSV player at the moment, captain, his break through in the national team, wanted by Bayern Munich and AC Milan).

These 3 are the best players at the moment in the Dutch league, and they have a great future ahead of them. But yeah, Ronaldo played for PSV from 1994/96, and look what happenned to him. :(

most of the best players wear Nike cause Nike pays them loads of money for them to wear their product...Nike knows football is a cash cow so thats why they jumped on the world football bandwagon...Adidas is a German product engineered to the highest degree and its known for its durability plus they in the sportwear business a lot longer than Nike..also i think Umbro makes the best kits..and i rather jerserys with the collars..those with those V-necks and O-necks look so cheap and shoddy.

World Champions BOCA JUNIORS of Argentina are sponsered by Nike. THis is probaly why Nike says they are the company of champions.

Pires wears Umbro,
Dixon, Cole, and sometimes Ljunbgberg wear adidas,
Parlour wears Diadora,
Bergkamp wears Reebok,

Many players change their boots according to the weather... Alenitchev either uses the nike boots (the ones Ronaldo wears) or adidas... The ones who only use one brand are the ones who have a contract with the manufacturer or simply enjoy so much those boots they don't change.

Are you sure man...cuz I didn't think pro players would wear adidas or nike boots for free like this Alenitchev dude does.....i mean some players in brazil even paint their whole boots black so you can't tell what kinda boots they have on.....and the ones with contracts aren't allowed to wear two brands of boots....

I am completely sure. You see, Nike is Porto's supplier... but Alenitchev don't have a contract with them. It's probably easier for him to get nike boots, but he sometimes still uses adidas boots.
