View Full Version : Let's play a fun little game.........
dragan84 26-05-2001, 10:05:PM It's called: "What if you could go back in time and change something that has to do with football!?"
My choices:
Prevent the CL format from changing to those crap 24 and 32 team formats, and keep it the good old way with 16 teams....... ;) :D
Can't stop the rush... 26-05-2001, 10:22:PM Real Madrid beating Bayern in the semi's... :D

LOL.That would be graet!
i would prevent Arsenal winning two last game of the premiership in 97-98 season! So Man U would win six straight.
Alenitchev 27-05-2001, 05:11:AM Just one? nah, that's few. I would choose from:
a) convince Porto NOT TO HIRE Fernando Santos
b) make the CL like in the old 80's days :)
c) let Bosman go to where he wanted
Sukur_54 27-05-2001, 06:47:AM 1) I would love to relive the great excitement of GALATASARAY winning the UEFA cup again becuz its just not fun to watch the replay.
2) Stop REAL MADRID from winning GALATASARAY in the quarter finals of CL
Darthbaul 27-05-2001, 07:11:AM Letz c:
a) Have someone with sense as FIFA President (put Sepp Blatter on a platter to where he belongs!)
b) Return the champions league to a straight knock-out tornament
c) Don't have any team that wins the UEFA Cup refuse to defend it (like going to the Champs League instead of UEFA Cup in the next season---too many have dun this and Liverpool are gonna do it)
d) Make EA do what the fans want with the FIFA series (better gameplay and other things like more stadiums and kits for each team!!)
Is this enough to start with? :D
Amika 27-05-2001, 07:33:AM hmm... it me see.. o.k.. i will stop liverpool board in appointing sourness as liverpool manager in 1991.. ;)
Neutral LFC 27-05-2001, 07:47:AM Go back and stop Hillsborough and Haysel from ever happening, somehow.
King Kenny 27-05-2001, 10:37:AM Neutral, you took the words out of my mouth.
I had already clicked "Post Reply" when I saw your answer in a flash.
If I had to choose it would have been Hillsborough, that was really nobody's fault whereas Heysel(I was there)was the ultimate stupidity of hooligans that call themselves fans.
It would have been tempting to make Holland beat West-Germany in the 1974 WC-final though
:D
Cheers,
King Kenny.
Can't stop the rush... 27-05-2001, 11:18:AM All the stuff that has been going on in Africa.
niker 27-05-2001, 11:32:AM i would stop bayern from defeating man u would also stop westham from defeating man united
Team 17 27-05-2001, 03:15:PM i wouldnt really change anything, id just go back to '66 and watch the boys beat west germany :D
T17
pedroramone 27-05-2001, 03:40:PM I would try to avoid that knee-injury that happened with Ronaldo.
J@MES 27-05-2001, 04:36:PM go back to before the beginning of the season and stop strachan selling robbie keane to intermilan
Jambo Den 27-05-2001, 04:41:PM well here's a few
a)relive the scottish cup final of 1998.CHAMPIONES CHAMPIONES!!!!
b)Hearts win the last game of season 85/86
c)stop H**s C****c and R*****s from ever being founded
d)Scotland getting past the 1st phase of major competitions
to name a few
PhiLLer 27-05-2001, 05:06:PM This is what I would change:
1) Never let the 1958 munich air disaster happen.
2)Keep george best young and then put him in manutd's starting line-up today :D
3)Keep the Champions league the way it originally was.
Luc Nilis 27-05-2001, 05:40:PM I would warn Luc Nilis to not play in the Villa-Ipswich match. :(

why, what happened?
Antman 27-05-2001, 09:11:PM I don't know exactly, but I think he was injured in this match and because of that he had to finish his career :(
Jari Litmanen 27-05-2001, 09:49:PM I would change history as to make HJK the UEFA Champions League winners in '98. HJK lost to PSV after a hat-trick from Van Nistelrooy that dropped us out of the second stage.
PhiLLer 27-05-2001, 10:27:PM why, what happened?
In that match he colided with Richard Wright(the Ipswich goalie) and broke his leg in 3(I think) places...it ended his career.
Teletoonder 27-05-2001, 10:29:PM Hmm I would prevent Nilis to leave PSV and go to Aston Villa, just because I never enjoyed watching a player so much as watching Nilis. He was and IS stil the most popular player from PSV, and I really CRYED when I heard and saw what happened to him, it was horrible. His magical right leg, wich gave me and thousands of others the most desireble goals ever, man what a player. He broke the underpart of his leg, it was horrible to see, the leg was 'curreled' around Ipswich goalies knee, man I still get emotional when I think about it.
Can't stop the rush... 27-05-2001, 10:37:PM Yeah when it happened i seen the clip on tv.
It was a injury that you don't wanna see anyone get.
Amika 28-05-2001, 04:01:AM indeed it is a sad moment in this season... it was only the 2nd match right??
Teletoonder 28-05-2001, 02:08:PM His 3rd in the Premier League I thought, but I'm not sure about that. He also played at the Intertoto competition I thought, and in the League cup. Correct me if I'm wrong. I can remember that I saw Match of the day and that it was voting time for the best goal of the month. I saw one from Nilis, and I nearly cryed again. It was already after his injury :( Last week I saw a reportage about Nilis, it was great to see how everyone involved with PSV still admires the person and the player Luc Nilis.
Amika 28-05-2001, 05:40:PM i didn't follow his news quite often, so how is he now??? is he retired from professional football for good?? or can he make a come back???
Silencer 28-05-2001, 07:01:PM I would prevent the foundation of Bayern Munich.
- Holland should've won against Germany in the worldcup and against Argentina in 1977.
- Prevent great players from leaving Ajax like Davids, Kluivert, R and F de Boer, Seedorf, Litmanen, Laudrup.
- I wish that Brian Laudrup could've stayed with Ajax and that he didn't had a bad injury so he had to stop with his footballcareer.
- A football league just like the EPL, more exciting here in Holland.
- A win against Portugal a few weeks ago for the Dutch team
- At Euro 2000 Holland to the final and than the European championship with a win against France.
etc etc.
There are a lot of things that should've been different including the knee injury for Nilis and van Basten why they had to stop with professional football.

LOL
Imagine a bunch of rock collecters on the pitch studying rocks instead of playing football. :D
Teletoonder 29-05-2001, 06:13:AM No he retired for good. A week ago he was at the match PSV-De Graafschap, when Van Nistelrooy and some other players took goodbye from the supporters. Luc Nilis gave some flowers to Ruud van Nistelrooy, and all the supporters shouted his name
jala la lalalala LU-CKIE-NI-LIS
Great moments......

the -Russian Rocket- 03-06-2001, 05:05:AM I'd go back to the 1966 WC where USSR lost to Germany 2:1 in the semis... Mainly because of Chislenko's foul and red card; he kicked and thus tripped the German guy SO hard.... So, what I would change is make him him hit that guy twice as hard.. :D jes kidding, I'd make him not to do that as we would possibly win the WC.. Soviet people weren't THAT mad at Chislenko, though. Some thought that he did the right thing and "kicked that nazi". Heh, it was 1966..
though lately a lot of bad crap happened in the soccer world. In Iran, the roof of some stadium fell on the fans. In South Africa quite a few people died on the overcrowded stadium... So as in Cameroon... That's bad, really bad.... Would be great if all that stuff would never happen, you know.....
Nimreitz 03-06-2001, 05:27:AM Russian Rocket is back!
I knew you could never escape the grip of the soccergaming forums :D
