1. So I have a DSL wireless connection with download speeds up to 1.5 Mbps
Is that sufficient for a game like fifa-or do I need to upgrade it...I think there are options for 3 mbps or even 6 mbps...

2. Does one need a hardrive to play online- just curious - I will probably buy the setup with the hardrive as it seems like the better deal...

Your connection is enough, i play with DSL with 1 Mbps, and game has not lag anymore.

Indeed the best method to save, like in all the games, is to have a hard drive (i use it) but i think that if you have a memory card is enough too. I recommend anyway to have a hard drive, not only for this aspect, if you want to download extras, videos, demos, etc...a hd is a must to have. If you will go to buy a 360, the one that comes with console, hard-drive, wireless command, headset, video-component cable, etc is the one. Here´s around 399 euros....i dont know the price in usa.
