View Full Version : Which Fm/cm Is Best ??? jerms 02-11-2006, 03:00:PM OK The BIG question... Which of ALL the Championship Manager / Football Manager games are best ?? :ewan: Zlatan 02-11-2006, 03:17:PM I had the most fun with CM 03/04, but I think that's mostly because it was my first in the series. rpvankasteren 02-11-2006, 03:55:PM 03/04 for me as well, but 01/02 is very close to it. Oz_Leeds_Fan 02-11-2006, 03:59:PM FM 07  It'll b a rainy day in hell when CM bests the FM franchise i reckon, given their progression and platform which they have to build on. Any FIFA variant is simply laughable and always has been...both management and simulation these days... :nape: rpvankasteren 02-11-2006, 03:59:PM 03/04 for me as well, but 01/02 is very close to it. yoyo913 02-11-2006, 07:43:PM I consider FM2007 the best game most memorable would be CM01/02 Tom 02-11-2006, 10:30:PM Bloody tough, but i'll have to go with CM01/02. Obviously FM07 is the best (perse), but its also the newest and therefore should be the best. Second would have to be CM97/98, because its what got me into CM and it was light years ahead of it's rivals. Then FM07, followed closely by the supremely good CM03/04, which was very much like CM4 but minus the many bugs :D Fernandez 03-11-2006, 10:19:AM Fm 07 and CM 03/04 yoyo913 03-11-2006, 02:00:PM wtf i swear i posted in this thread i consider FM07 to be the best management game ever made but Cm01/02 had some of the best memories Áļéאָ 03-11-2006, 03:20:PM Cm01/02 Tom 03-11-2006, 03:37:PM both threads merged. Aarfy Aardvark 03-11-2006, 04:48:PM CM 01/02 was the daddy imo. I personally lost everything I ever owned due to that game. I don't think I'll ever reach the giddy heights of taking Grimsby Town to the Champions league 2016 title ever again or winning everything with PSV including a 100% season (no points dropped at all.) *sigh* Although FM2007 is the best in terms of what it offers, in terms of addictiveness, the older versions just storm it. Tom 03-11-2006, 04:54:PM I think CM0102 just captured the time the best. I know so many more people who played that over any other version. It had all the detail you wanted, but STILL seems to have more playability than later versions. Maybe it is because it was a precurser to CM4, riddled with bugs. It's also much faster than any other later incarnations. AND it had 'the' CM legends on it. Gomez, Tsigalko, Nikiforenko, To Madeira, the list goes on. Aarfy Aardvark 03-11-2006, 05:05:PM Serge Makofo. You remember that guy? He was ******* awesome. He's playing at Kettering now I think. Its amazing how many they got wrong when you think about it (Cherno Samba being the most obvious.) But Rosicky and Kallstrom certainly lived up to the hype. d3adly 04-11-2006, 03:30:AM fm 2007 and cm03-04. error_1205 04-11-2006, 04:54:PM FA premier League Manager 2002 is the best game ever. It would be so great if I could update it with new season players!! Filipower 04-11-2006, 05:41:PM same as Tom here, CM 01-02:jap: closely followed by CM03-04 and FM07:jambo: Zlatan 04-11-2006, 05:45:PM Can't see how everyone ranks FM 2007 so high. I really can't get into it ATM. error_1205 04-11-2006, 05:58:PM is there any tool that can convert player database from new manager to faplm2002? Áļéאָ 05-11-2006, 10:19:AM I think CM0102 just captured the time the best. I know so many more people who played that over any other version. It had all the detail you wanted, but STILL seems to have more playability than later versions. Maybe it is because it was a precurser to CM4, riddled with bugs. It's also much faster than any other later incarnations. AND it had 'the' CM legends on it. Gomez, Tsigalko, Nikiforenko, To Madeira, the list goes on. i think its lot more simple than that. It had the text engine. The best text eng we had seen till then. since Cm4 the text engine isnt so detailed, thus not so exciting. The 2d engine will never be as exciting coz with text you are left there to just imagine the whole thing based on what you read. and error_1205 ... realy man... you name sez it all about your opinions on manager games. Error :P ;) + this isnt the best forum to talk about that fa something game Tom 05-11-2006, 10:29:AM Yeah good point Alex, i think you're right that CM0102 had the most absorbing and generally well-paced match engine so far. FM07 i often find boggy, as i did with 06 and 05 before it. Still, the 0102 engine was hilariously predictible. Áļéאָ 05-11-2006, 11:06:AM wouldnt say predictable... just not realistic in many ways. Strikers scoring too many goals too many goals avg in every game... the FM series are more realistic, just not as exciting. The text engine in cm01 could make sh*t on your pants durring high pressure matches, and still can sometimes, even this less detailed version we get in fm games today. froddo 05-11-2006, 05:23:PM CM 03-04 for me. Was my first game of the series :) Kibe Kru 05-11-2006, 06:46:PM CM 01/02, for me, then 03/04, 97/98 and FM07. FM07 is imho much better than the other FMs orkunkaan 05-11-2006, 09:03:PM first cm 3 was best ever.. i also liked fm 2007 but not player cm 2007 yet.. anyone played both ? |
