View Full Version : Disc Cannot be Read Error ..
johan 03-11-2006, 01:13:PM Anyone else experienced this problem ?? I was also getting this with NBA 2K7 it tells me that the disc cannot be read and that I should use some cloth to clean the damn thing .. brand new games and I'm getting that message. To hell with Micro"SOFT" if my **** is defected. I lost my BestBuy receipt.. so WTF do I do now if it is indeed defected. :boohoo:
valioso 03-11-2006, 01:18:PM it may be an issue with the new update, call ms and ask.

Ditto
I haven't experienced this with any 360 game yet.
However, usually when a disc can't be read you should use a lens cleaner(any CD/DVD drive cleaner should work) or clean the disc ... or in rare extreme circumstances it could be your laser that is faulty.
If cleaning the laser or disc don't work contact MS and tell them it may be a fault with the laser.
OrgulloVikingo 06-11-2006, 08:59:PM Maybe the lens is illiterate :ewan:
I hope you didn't get an phucked up 360. Seems like 50% of them are junk. Toasters disguised as consoles. If you haven't bought a Nyko intercooler yet, do it. Either that or put your 360 in a few plastic bags and put it in a real cooler.

Don't buy one, even M$ says not to.

OrgulloVikingo 06-11-2006, 09:29:PM UhOH :nape: I have one. I'll check for those scorch marks. Back to the styrofoam picnic cooler.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that press release was put out by MS as a means to force people to buy MS's own Intercooler which is being released in a week or so over here. It has crazy flashy blue lights on it ... WOOHOO! The mere fact that both the intercoolers use pretty much the same power(the MS one actually probably uses more due to it's stupid blue lights) to function and startup is enough to convince me, anyway.
I have had one of those Nyko Intercoolers ever since I bought my console 4 months ago ... absolutely no problems with the console and no sign of the burn marks at all.
Again, proving that Microsoft are money grabbing whores who have no care for the consumer.

I have not heard one thing about an offical M$ Intercooler. Please provide a link. I doubt what your saying is true as blue lights would be a dumb move on a console that has always used green lights..............

I just went to find the site but it turns out it isn't an official MS one anyway, I misread the description. MY BAD! :nape:
OrgulloVikingo 07-11-2006, 02:31:PM I'm sure MS put out abad word on the intercooler cause they aren't receiving money from it! Anyway, since deftones posted that I went online and looked it up. Saw pics of scorchmarks (probably photoshopped by MS people?) read complaints. Both pro & cons. Anyway I decided to go home and see if there were any scorch marks = none! I still decided to take it off. Since I don't play 6 hours straight I probably don't need it anyway. And it's much much quieter. Just in case!
deftonesmx17 07-11-2006, 03:36:PM Why would they put out a bad word on the intercooler and then say if you think you need a cooling solution to use the fan stand? They make no money off either product. The difference is that the fan stand runs off the USB power and doesnt pull power before it gets to the system like the intercooler does.
OrgulloVikingo 07-11-2006, 03:50:PM :jambo: It'd probably be better to put the 360 in a hefty bag and place it in a styrofoam cooler filled with ice
djdavedoc 10-11-2006, 04:22:PM Or do the obvious thing and make sure it isnt sat next to a heat source and make sure it has plenty of ventilation.... I have done that for nearly a year now and never had an overheating issue with my 360.

of course they get money from it. You cannot sell stuff for 360 without MS's license.

Err...........the nkyo Intercooler is an unlicensed product! Do you not understand what that means? That means there is no M$ license, meaning M$ gets no money from its sale! And it is also why they will not fix a system that shows signs of damage from it, because its not licensed by M$.
And I quote from the article I posted about this earlier in this thread.
In both cases, each rep went on to explain that Nyko’s Intercooler is an unlicensed device, and therefore Microsoft does not recommend its usage. They advised using only peripherals that have the Official Microsoft seal of approval (a small green square on the packaging that states that it is approved for use on the Xbox 360).
Another one http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/27/nyko-intercooler-scorches-xbox-360-consoles/
It was noted that the Intercooler can even elicit "brown discoloration" around the system's AC input before users are faced with the ominous red ring, and if this tale-tell sign is witnessed by RMA processors, your return becomes null and void for using an "unlicensed peripheral."
valioso 11-11-2006, 03:54:AM i did not know it wan an "unlicensed product" then is stupid to buy one
