I have and I think its a waste of time, because there are some chalenges that ask you to score a goal with the goalkeeper, and keep a clean sheet in the same game.......how are you meant to do this with skill alone? And most of the other challenges are retarded aswell. So it only leaves the manager mode to play all which is cool, but will probably get boring after a few seasons.

So anyway has anyone here got very far in the challenge mode?

I don't like the challenges. Score 3 goals with 3 different players = 9 goals???? They are crazy. They should have made them realistic, c'mon.

I too hate challenge mode. It's extremely difficult and gets very annoying after the fifth try at a certain challenge. And considering this is the only way to earn fan shop points ... I don't think many people will finish this game.

It sucks because the creation center starting points you can buy are expensive and I think it would take a fair few challenges to get enough points to buy them all ... ridiculous.

Yeah when I firt saw challenge mode, I thought it was from football scenarios in real life, like "score two goals for man utd against munich, in the champions league final" or "come back from 3 nil down against milan". Or they could even have little known challenges that have happened in real life like save a team from relegation on the last day of the season. But they messed it up big time.

Im glad I aint the only person frustrated about this, cause like DVC said, you cant even buy the stuff in the fan shop now. still a good game though.

You're right, it's not good. I did the easy Marseille v Valencia again last for the fourth time. You play as Marseille and have to beat Valencia in regulation time and score with a sub after 65 mins. I thought I'd completed it before but made a mistake but last night I won the game, I was 1-0 up early on and after 65 mins I brought on three attacking subs including Cisse. I ended up winning 4-0 with all three of the subs scoring. Then I was shocked to find that I didn't complete the challenge. I got the winning bit but not the scoring with a sub after 65 mins even though my subs came on after that time and all three scored. I can only assume that you have to win and only a sub can score (I went 1-0 up early on with a non sub scoring). Ridiculous, I know realise that I've probably done this the three other times and really can't be ar$ed doing it again for a fifth time still not knowing what to do.
Anyone else had this problem?

The challenge modes are very interesting but will eventually be impossible. I passed the beat (forgot which team) with Marseille and get 60% of shots on target. Doing with I unlocked the Terrible Twosome challenge which is, you play as Barca and have to beat Real Madrid at home on 2 level difficulty and score a hatrick I think it was. The scenarios are great but what happens when you advance to the hardest difficulty? Beat Lyon with watford and score 4 hat tricks with 4 different players????????????????

By the way, do you earn points to unlock fanshop items any other way? Like winning a cup in manager mode, etc? I hope so!

I won the FA Cup, Champions League and Premiership with Liverpool in my first season ... didn't get squat for it. :nape:

If you go to the hints and tips section of the game (I think its under My FIFA 07) it tells you that challenge mode is the only way to earn shop points. :jap:

I guess I'll have to beat Chelsea with Reading on the hardest difficulty and score 6 hat tricks with 9 different players before the 32nd min! to finish all the challenges. :(

well i have been playing the challenges more and more now, just cause i want the fan shop points......and just incase other people are trying to complete it, i have warning if you playing it.....

when doing a challenge like "score with a defender" or "score with a midfielder". If you eventually score with that player dont move his position because it will make the challenge void.

example: one chanllenge is to score a hatrick with a defender with chelsea, so I moved drogba and shvechenko into defence b4 the match and scored a hattrick with drogba by running up the field everytime (unreallistic I know). so he scored a hattrick, and it said on the objectives that i scored a hattrick with a defender. So I moved him back into attack, but when the game ended, i didnt get the points cause he was classed as an attacker at the end of the game.

if anyone else has had problems like this can you post them to save us making the same mistake

Still task two had a cross in it to indicate that I had failed. I was well pi$$ed. This is the very first challenge (I've done plenty of others) , has anyone completed this? You need to bring on your substitutes on 65 minutes or after and then score with them. You can check the time they were substituted in the Match Facts screen. Also you can check in here to see if the players that came on have also scored. I had no problems with this one. Currently I am writing a guide on the challenges but I am noticing that there are some particularly hard ones there! I'm hoping to publish something at the weekend when I have more time.

Hi, in this challenge you play as Leverkusen and their goalkeeper is the only goalkeeper in the game that is their designated penalty taker so you need to win a penalty and convert it to score with your keeper. This is much easier than running your keeper up the pitch leaving an open goal behind!

Also I have unlocked a challenge in the 8th sub-menu, that is england vs argies, and you need to score 4 goals with 4 players or somethin like that, but its on world class level i think. which means the harder levels arent "score 15 goals, and a hatrick with keeper" like I first thought, which is good.

Thanks Tim, that makes sense. I know for a fact I made my subs on 60 mins just so they were there but didn't score with them till after 65 mins. To me, thats still makes sense to the description, I've scored with a sub after 65 mins but at least I now know their mentality. Cheers

I haven't unlocked any challenges in levels 9 and 10 yet! I'm guessing to unlock the ones in level 8 you need to complete either 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 or 10-12 from level 3. I have completed the first two challenges of level 7 but the next one is something like:

score a hat trick with a defender
get 90% possession

That's just too difficult!!!

This actually means you have to score 3 goals, but all with different players...
I totally get everyones point though... It's not any fun at all, and you really have to do a bit of work in the challenge mode too, if you want to get things unlocked... there is a trick for levelling up players without buying points though...

i want a cheat just so i can buy the stuff in the shops, im not into maxing all the players stats, if anything i wanna reduce some players stats, the worse challenges are the ones where you have to score with a defender, so you think if you put rio or terry up front and score then jobs a good un, but no, ea insist on the player who is in that position to score, its bollocks, ive managerd most of them but it still gets on my tits!!!

I just thought I had completed the 3rd challenge in the England set. As Arsenal, you have to score 3 goals with a midfielder against Tottenham.

I scored 3 with Fabregas (who's a midfielder, and was labeled as midfielder after he scored), but much to my astonishment, it said I failed the "score a hattrick with a midfielder" portion of the challenge.

It's funny because the same thing happened to me when I scored 3 in the first England challenge, where you need to score 3 with a defender. I moved Drogba to defense, but the challenge didn't work anyway. I then tried again and scored 3 with Ashley Cole (who is an actual defender). Of course, the challenge said I failed to score 3 with a defender...

I think I may write to EA about this, except they probably won't care.

Also, in all 3 instances, I had subbed out the hattrick player because they had 0 energy left. Could this be a reason?

I've always done it so that if I need to score 3 with a defender say I play a forward there, edit the formation so he is an advanced LWB or RWB and score 3 with him, in the case of Chelsea I used Drogba. Then I go into the menus and see under match options then challenge objectives to see if the score a hat trick with a defender objective is ticked or not. If it is and you substitute the player off (which I don't do) then it shouldn't suddenly untick the box because it was ticked a minute ago. If it does then it is rubbish because you have clearly met the objective.

I have now completed all challenges from levels 1-7, 9 from 12 in level 8 and 2 from 4 in level 9. Surprisingly the level 9 ones were easy despite them being 5 footballs difficulty and worth 1,000 fan points. It's pretty messed up the difficulty levels in this mode anyway, some are easy and worth loads of points, some are hard and worth hardly any points.

Anyway I have 3 challenges in level 8 to unlock the remaining 2 challenges from level 9 but one of them is to score a hat trick with a defender and to also keep possession for 90% of the match (i.e. 81 minutes), that's just too difficult and maybe impossible. But if I unlock that then I'll probably complete the rest.
