hmmm no the Finnish ice-hockey league is better than the Russian... firstly we have richer teams that doesn't mean they are good but we also play in better stadiums (the largest indoor arena in europe is in Finland) We have more interesting teams and our national tema is leading the european circuit and we had a completely new team for each tournamnet and we won all the games we played.. btw Russia came last in the 4 team competition... (Euro-hockey tour) ok the european hockey league doesn't interest finnish and swedish clubs because they get more money from winning their domestic championships that's why they protested and the tournament was ended.. it may intrest Russian teams because they get more money from it than from their domestic leagues...
also our league had the largest interest in europe from all the hockey leagues and that is why about 10 NHL hockey teams are now partners with finnish teams.. ex. Phoenix, San Jose.. they all send players here to develop and we also have american players leaving from Finland to play in the NHL. an example is super NHL rookie sensation Rafalski who played here before joining the NHL and our scouts found them... the russian league is not the best euro league it's officially the finnish... taht is official and there is no disputing.. you ar insulting me by even saying that Russian league could be remotely as good as the finnish league...

Look, I don't want to start it again...

there's a word called "prestige". It is when you should do something you do not like, but it is for your reputation. The fact that for Finnish and Swedish clubs European Cups are not interesting and that they get more money in Sweden and Finaldn is not an excuse. That is even worse. That means that money solve everything in Sweden and Finland. That should not be like that -- even if they do not like it, they should play in full strength in european cups.........no matter what..... that what prestige is all about....


And also, can you get rid of the image that Russian people are poor. They are poor on American level, but in Russia it is not like you imagine. All you say is that our government is corrupted, people starve, people are poor, sport teams do not have any money, etc...... We do have money, and people are not poor in Russia, in Moscow it is like in any western city (although it's a bit different in Russian provinces), and even here in America, on famous San Francisco streets there are A LOT of homeless people who beg, and it is very very dirty on streets, and it smells like droppings, and people smoke pot on streets in front of everybody. That is what SOME american streets in ALL american big metropolitan areas. There are A LOT of parts of cities like that in USA, where you get killed just because you are white, etc...

In Russia there's abundance of it. In Finland, I am pretty sure, all tv's show the war in Chechnya and the bombings of russian public buildings. But there are a lot of good things in Russia, not just endless bombings, wars................

a lot of people outside of my country think that........ you just do not know how sad I get when I hear stuff like that from people, and now here you are bringning up how government of my country is corrupted, how people of Russia are poor. Yes, we do not have much money for sport, but we still manage to be in top 10 leagues of Europe and one of the best hockey leagues in the whole world (euro-cups show that Russian clubs had more success. In 1998, or 1997, or 1999 in final of euro champions' cup or somehting like that Metallurg and Dinamo Moscow played. Why? Finnish clubs have more money, and have better stadiums/arenas, but that does not determine the skill of league, does it?)

3. Hockey nation does not mean a good league. You do not rely on anything. You just say your league is good. But apart from that I say that my league is good, I give you some evidence.

4. RUSSIA HAS MONEY FOR THEIR PLAYERS -- Why don't you look on NHL draft? How many russians were selected in first round? how many were selected in the whole draft? About a half of ALL players. Russia has LESS money for the sport, and you are going to be a dumbass if you'll mention a money thing again. I do not want to talk with a moron that just says facts without backing them up and mentions money. Russian teams do not have that much as Finnish and Swedish, right. But they still win. It all started from an argument which league is better -- finnish or russian (in soccer), and after the "peace treaty" I said that Russian hockey league is better than finnish CONCERNING EHL results. Well, seeing that Finnish clubs did not do that great in EHL, he said "whatever" and "we do not concentrate on EHL", bringing up the national team (which has to do absolutely nothing with the league), then he began to bring the money,..... that's how it goes...


who cares anyway, if SG forums would be ONLY for FIFA games, it would be hell of unpopular.
