OK, this is the question that answers wether EA has been listening to us or not.
CAN YOU TACKLE THE FREAKING KEEPER LIKE YOU COULD IN OLDER FIFA TITLES?
I think a lot of us got tired of posting, in forums like this one, and hoping that EA give us the freedom we once had in older FIFA games. Some of you may not remember, but you could take out your frustration on a keeper and tackle him hard (like when the AI or your buddy were kicking your butt). It happens in real life so... why not.
Now, before anyone gets hysterical and tells me "who cares about that, you are a looser, concentrate on the important aspects of the game, blah-blah-blah." Relax, I'm not saying I won't enjoy the game if it doesn't have it. It would be icing in the cake however :rockman: .
WHAT OTHER THINGS, THAT EXISTED IN OLDER FIFA TITLES WOULD YOU LIKE CURRENT EA DEVELOPERS TO BRING BACK TO NEXT-GEN SOCCER GAMING?
Thanks for your answers...

That might not be up to EA, that might be a "FIFA-Football governing" thing just like in American football video games- No late hits

I remember those days clearly. I even scored quite a few times while tackling the keeper.

Haha, I remember in WC 98 my friend and I would play on the same team with the bookings turned off of course... and one of us would tackle the keeper while the other one would take advantage of an empty net. We were only like 10 years old, so it was pretty amusing.
More like cheating JohnRG :hump:

That is correct. And sometimes you could time it just right and score without getting a red card (if you touch the ball first, like in a real game). In current titles, offensive players seem to be held by an invisible hand whenever you get close to the keeper. That just doesn't seem realistic :nape: .

The great thing about tackling the keeper was seeing how many of your players you could get sent off before the referee makes your team forfeit the match. Great fun ;)

I don't think comedy value was all there was to it. I think it gave you the freedom to act agressively, the way some players act in real life. Besides, if you were playing a competitive match (say online) you would have to decide wether you wanted to risk it all for a goal and face the threat of having your star forward kicked out from the game, or playing it safe.
It was more than comedy, I think...
