Sorry folks. I was actually taking about current gen PES6 and FIFA 07 graphics (PS2 and XBOX). FIFA 07 on the XBOX360 has killer graphics, much better than PES6 on the XBOX360 (which is basically PES6 for PS2 with added sheen - its not always EA that are cashing on in theri franchises). You will have to wait for PS3 Pro Evo for 'true' next gen PES.

Have to say i was utterly disappointed by fifa 07 when i played it on PC and i have already uninstalled it. The grafix are way below par and i was cursing myself for not downloading PES 6.

But yesterday i went to a shopping mall and played Fifa 06 : road to world cup on xbox 360 and was shocked by the breathtaking grafix. Now yes it was a samsung HDTV which are pretty expensive but was really impressed by the gpu of xbox 360. So it's obvious that fifa 07 on xbox would be atleast equal or better.

The discussion should be related to the games on pc platform only coz it's clear that when u play it on xbox or ps3 , things are going to be a hell different. PES on pc platform are much better than fifa 07 in terms of grafix. Perhaps someone who has a very high-end card will be able to shed more light on that issue as i have a very average grafix card.

As for the gameplay i don't think ea are going to come anywhere near pes anytime soon.

Well, tired about to compare graphics between FIFA and PES. Pes is dissapointing in current and next gen graphics, very dissapointing. So, and image better than thousand words.

That FIFA shot is so pre-rendered it isnt even funny. Look at Didier Drogba in the 360 version and get back to me about how 'great' FIFA looks.

Rdubb4, is clear that you dont like fifa 07, period. So, do you have a HDTV?? i guess that yes...have you connected it via components or vga??. What TV model do you have? Cause graphics can change a lot depending of the TV, how is connected, etc...for example, you can find jagging effects if there´s not the right view-connection, etc.

I say this because you make me turn on again my 360 with your comment about Drogba, but he looks so awesome as the rest of graphics, indeed most of Chelsea players looks suberp, like Terry, Lampard, Robben, etc....There´s no pre-rendered graphics, it´s only more polys and better textures, aswell lights, movements, etc...due 360 can do it. (i take some photos, but i think that it will be better to take a screenshot directly from my HDTV, i guess that i must to connect via vga my pc with my xbox 360 for this??)

Is a pitty that you dont like fifa 07 for the 360, anyway, pes6 for the same console cannot apport much more, indeed it does not apport anything. But im sure that you will enjoy a lot with Gears Of War.

About the online thing, is true, is a shame to see that all people selects the same teams, Barça, Madrid, Manchester, Inter, Chelsea, Bayern, etc.....so, i solved this problem of a simply way. If i have needed of a very good macth, then there´s no problem for me that the first minutes of fifa playing i must to play Barça-Madrid, Chelsea-Barça, etc...when i tired of so good teams, then i have it easy, i select national teams, and normally (85% of times) my opponnent selects too another national team, and you can play very good macthes Spain-Italy, France-Germany, Serbia-Holland, etc....but if you have still problem with this, and you want to play with your favourite team that is not a superteam, i dont know, Betis, Espanyol, Lens, Schalke 04, Aston Villa, Ascoli, etc...you can meet with some friends (thanks to the tags!!) and select one of this teams for each friend and make like a tournament or something like this....when you are tired about this teams, then you can pick again another one, etc.... this is my way for to play. Anyway, for me, i have not chance, i live in Barcelona, and is my city team, i must to play with them, hehehehe.

I allready traded it in, and the graphics never, ever looked as good as EA's rendered garbage they push out for every game they make. Remember the first commercials for Madden 360?

Played FIFA 07 on friends PS2 and was really impressed with the graphics. Jerky scrolling but great graphics. Looked almost real.

Went home and downloaded the demo for FIFA07 on the PC ... oh my how rubbish! Just seems like a completely different game. Doesn't compare - but can't work out why exactly.

Ended up downloading the demo of PES6 and now bought it. Graphics are fine - much better than PC fifa at least.

All you have to do is check out the screenshots and you will know that PES on next gen 360 = last gen graphics. That coupled with only 8 stadiums = not agood showing for Konami! Although I have my issues with Fifa 2007 on 360, I give props for churning out a new game engine that looks like a superb base. The graphics are an 8.5 out of 10 compared to PES' 7 out of 10. Real test will be next year, where I fear Fifa is going to be the better game over PES, unless PES step it up (in all areas, not just gameplay).

played fifa on 360 today and had pes on 360 right next to it and it is almost like looking at next gen and past gen, fifa is just a class above pes graphically, i have pes fans who would die if they said fifa was a better game but they could honestly admit that fifa just looked alot better than pes

depends if you max out the settings in pes6 then it looks way nice(for pc)

I have Fifa 07 for xbox 360 and while some players look amazing (Ronaldinho and C. Ronaldo) and the fans and stadiums look real, there is just something really messed up with the color which tends to make it look really fake. The colors (especially when the players are coming out of the tunnel) are tinted really dark like it's in the matrix. On a good note though for Fifa when the sweat isn't overdone it looks great, and although i don't own WE10 cause i live in USA judging by screenshots Fifa on the 360 looks better then WE10 most of the time.

The controls are weird and its not as fluid as PES. I prefer better realism, The graphics in PES are fine as long as the gameplay remains realistic then people will still play PES. Gameplay is more important than graphics. PES keeps you coming back. Fifa you get bored and frustrated at the defending and senseless end to end action 2 passes and a 40 yard shot that goes in.

Perhaps on last gen (PS2 & XBOX) gameplay is more important but on current gen (360 & PS3) both are important. With the specs of these new consoles, there is no more sacrificing one for the other. Great gameplay and great graphics should be mandatory! I am sick and tired of people mentioning gameplay over graphics! If that's the case why make PES for the 360? It surely doesn't look next gen and surely has the same gameplay as in previous PES'...so what has Konami brought to the table to warrant this blind fanboyism?? At least FIFA built a new engine and you can clearly see the improvements. Konami hasn't even fixed their audio for the 360! How hard is it to have decent audio? I'm sorry but getting into a game takes more than good gameplay. Sure, I agree gameplay is the most important but to soak up a great footy game, the audio, presentation, graphics, etc. should not be overlooked. For a person who considers Winning Eleven 9 my best footy game of alltime, I can unblindly say that Konami isn't delivering. I don't expect a super game right away but I'd like to see progress in all areas, progress in making it a true nextgen title! So far, Konami has failed and we should push them to create a fantastic next gen title next time!

By the way, anyone doubting EA's graphical supremacy over Konami has to be on drugs.

I fully agree with you zak. When you take a look at the ps2 PES graphics are much much better. I've always been surprised when ppl said that fifa looks soooooo good. In my opinion it doesnt. I like the shirts in pes much better, the stadiums as well. OK, so the licensce things sucks but we have patches for that.

To be honest, the player animations looked very unnatural on FIFA (360 version). I wasn't really that impressed. Lots of work is needed, but that could be said for Pro Evo.

PC? No thanks. My 360 costs 400 US dollars. An equivocal PC would cost 4,000 dollars to run alot of the same games. Sorry. Much easier to use console. No fidgitting around with settings, fixing bugs, crashes, etc. PC's are very high maintanance and not as bulletproof as macs. That's why I have a Mac :) PES = very last gen!

That's my point! My 360 costs $100 less than your video card! You can't run alot of games that the 360 runs, on PC's. IMO...a $400 360 will last 4-5 years without losing relevancy. In thos 4-5 years, I know people who would have bought 2-3 video cards at $300 -$400 a piece. PES doesn't look great no matter the videocard! It's the design that decides how its gonna look. The cards maximize but doesn't recreate it.

fifa07 on 360 is marvellous. fifa07 on pc is also marvellous if u have high-end pc. fifa07 can also be played on low-end pc. but pes is just with the same worst graphic no matter what platform it used n never can be played on low-end pc. very sad... (:/)

Okay just to clear some stuff up befor I post, I'm not a fanboy of either game and I buy both every year.

As for this discusion on the next gen graphics well I owned both games I only owned FIFA for 3 days though due to poor gameplay.

Now then graphics sure PES gfx look similar to currrent gen just a few improvments but FIFA sure they look good but for me no....All the players faces look in shock like there in GOW or somthing also when you watch replays it looks like they have tits all over their bodies which is wrong, the models look extremly fat but I do say they have good gfx but not sure which game has better ones.

Graphics? No..


But still.. Gameplay > Graphics

well i have Fifa 07 and PES-2007 for me Fifa has better Graphics than pes (xbox360)

and CL 06-07 is fantastic IMO......

PES takes it all the way.Fifa looks plain damn ugly and outdated.
I was really pissed of when i started playing fifa 07 with those ugly ass graphix.

I agree a 360 is a good investment and most of its games look amazing. But, can you run a decent FPS on a 360? Or a strategy game? nope...But thats beside the point I don't want to be part of the PC vs console war. So to the real matter.

I mean, can you argue? The commentary is Horrible! The graphics look awful, play it and see for yourself...The gameplay is dodgy. The be a pro mode, PES has had a player camera and the ability to control only one man for how long now. FIFA copied it and just added a few stats.

I don't think anybody can argue that EA properly screwed up FIFA 08 PC, the console versions are good but the PC one sucks!!

As for pc vs. 360...#1, I own a Mac (for my work. better operating system and more stable, practically bulletproof) #2, 360 plug and play like any console is a big plus for many #3, messing around w/ configurations, updating grfx cards every few months, etc. is too involved and expensive for many. nothing against pc gaming though. I know the power of a fully optimized gaming pc and its excellent.

wow bezerker! Call of Duty 4 on 360 =excellent x50, the orange box, halo 3, fear, etc = kick ass on 360! then theres Bioshock!!!, Mass Effect! both goty contenders!!!! not to mention gears of war (last years goty!!!!!!!!!) yes, 360 is excellent for fps and the controller, best one out of the consoles for fps

pes hasn't even close to overtaken fifa if they win only on pc but on the others they are just $ucks :p wait a minute... did they really win on pc then? yeah pes for the pc you can score from the side of the goal too! and the cpu defenders can easily award you with their own goal. and the referee is like in real life too always hits your player. and sometimes when you score a goal your player will run out of stadium. they play like they are on ice :)
