View Full Version : ISS64 vs FIFA (series) = ISS64 wins! Wanna know why?!

I, personally, like ISS better than any of the FIFA series... it's not about the graphics, but the gameplay.

You see, for most people who watch or play a lot of soccer would agree with me. ISS series has a more realistic way of soccer, it is more real-time than FIFA series, the dribbling skill are better, and there are plays such as, one-two.

I do have ISS, and ISSD for SNES, and in my computer (emulation ROMs) but I do not have ISS64 for N64 (my computer is too slow for a N64 emulation.) The thing that sucks about ISS is that they don't have it as a computer game... I've played the N64 version and it rules! It got some awesome graphics.

I'm not saying that the FIFA series sucks, but that ISS is better... also, it is outrageous how easy is to score a goal with a bicycle kick in FIFA 2001... it is easier than dribbling the defenders...

The only FIFA game from the series that could challenge ISS from N64, would be FIFA 98... that was the best FIFA so far (the only thing that sucked was that club jerseys weren't realistic, but they were fixed on FIFA 2001.) FIFA 98 had many good things that were excluded from the FIFA series. There were a lot of stadiums in 98, and only 3 in the 2001 edition! They had videos for each stadium, and now they don't have crap! Where is the indoor field?! It's no longer with us!

Now, do you want to know what is the worst FIFA game out of the series (excluding the ones that weren't made for PC.) Well, FIFA 2000 sucked crap! American announcer... whatta hell was that all about anyways?! The gameplay isn't as good as FIFA 98 either.

I've never played FIFA 99, but I didn't hear any complaints about it, so I won't say anything about it.

You know what I hate though?! Is how people say that the FIFA series has the best soccer games for PC... but guess what?! There aren't a lot of soccer games for PC. Backyard Soccer, is that any good? Probably not. The FIFA series doesn't have any competition, that's why they are considered the best! It's time for Konami come out with ISS for PC... that will teach FIFA a lesson of how to make a better game and stop making crap like FIFA 2000.

Anyway, this was just a piece of my mind for this people at this forum. If you really like FIFA and hates ISS, you probably hate me, but that doesn't matter, it's your opinion. If you know about any other soccer game (none of that managing/coaching crap) for PC, I would be glad to receive a e-mail from you with the name of the games.

Gotta go now!

Peace Out!

Leandro:

the best PC soccer games ever made were
- UEFA Champions League 99/00
- FA Premier Leaue stars

its all there, MANy stadiums, a realistic crowd, REAL gameplay , real referee's , no 360 spin, I could go on and on, i wish everyone would be able to play both to see what i mean

ISS sounds great but... where is the PC version? I have lots of Soccer games, but World Cup 98 is by far the best. I can point out VIVA Football as one contender... real jerseys (for some teams), realistic gameplay, realistic results, and tough as hell. The worse HAS to be FIFA 99... a crappy video, lots of stadiums, but only Old Trafford looked like the real thing, stupid gameplay (only goals inside the area)...
There are LOTS of competition... Actua Soccer 3, VIVA Football, Champions League and FA / Primera Liga Stars... all of them completely different.

I think that the point on the videos is simple: they were put there to give a special taste to the game... It didn't worked out after the videos in 99, with a perfect stadium, and a "thing" during the game... I believe that 3 stadiums is more than enough... After all, we see the grass in 90% of the game.

About the commentators, you
a) bought a pirated copy from the states;
b) live outside europe, in a country w/o local commentators (france, Germnay and Italy, if I'm not wrong)

You are from Brazil, aren't you?

Besides, I think Konami don't know how to make PC games... the conversion would be crap, anyway.

I agree with SCTW on this one! The fifa premier league stars series are WAY better than the fifa ones. I invited a few friends over and after 2 games of FAPLS we played fifa again and everybody agreed that fifa sucks balls

The problem with FAPLS is pretty simple... it looks VERY short (what? only english teams?)

Correct me if I'm wrong (please),

Really, ISS64 is so far better than Any Fifa game, but PSX's winning eleven and ISS Pro evolution Series detonate every soccer game of the planet...anyone that likes a REAL-WELL DEVELOPED-SHOW-FOOTBALL like the brazilians and REALITY up everything will agree with me.

I got so sick of hearing people go on about ISS Pro Evolution on the PSX so when I saw it in the shop I bought it and had to get a PSX especially for it. I haven't played any FIFA games since.
To all those who have never experienced it:
YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE AMOUNT OF SATISFACTION YOU CAN GET FROM SCORING AND WINNING IN THIS GAME.

A happy new year to all!
