I vaguely remember the 100 year anniversary of Italian Football Fed few years ago and I think they published the best 11 then, if I find it I will post it here.

Marco Tardelli, no doubt about it.
The most complete midfielder ever to grace a fooball field, and I'm not even an Italian....
King Kenny.

The most talented, but maybe even most unlucky was....ROBERTO BAGGIO
All in all I'd have to say Rivera

I was just asking if gazzetta dello sport or anyone else ever gave the award for the best italian player of the 20th century.

I found that article for 100 anniversary of Federazione Italiana, but they had only list of most games and goals for national teams and Seria A.
Most games in national: Dino Zoff 112
most games in 1st league: Dino Zoff 570
Most goals in national: Luigi Riva 35
most goals in 1st league: Silvio Piola 290

Roby Baggio could have EASILY been Italy's all time national-scorer. Remember how few games he played since 94 (damn it, he was only 27 at that time), and back then he already had over 25.
Sacchi killed him - that stupid jealous prick.
