The finnsih commentators were laughing on live tv when they saw what tactic russia was using. They said it was ridiculous.. Wanna know what it was.. Ok in the defencive area they pass to the center who passes to the left wing then he get it back and scores.. hmm I didn't know one player can go past 5 guys and score... They'd have to be pretty darn good to beat 5 world-class players to do so.. Your silly players wine about not getting enough money when Teemu Selänne 4 time (in a row) best scorer in the NHL gives his money to charities and helps children in need. The European League means nothing to scandinavian teams that's why it was scraped and ended and will not be played this year ! Finnish teams sent their second teams to play in the tournament and even they didn't concentrate on the tournament...

Pic taken from the stands of a finnish ice-hockey stadium and this is the largest indorr arena in Europe.. The owner also just got into football with FC Jokerit if he uses his money for that which he is only using 10 per cent right now we can really challenge for high spots in the Champions League.. But FC Jokerit bought a great player this year a guy called Miloslav Kufa from czech's leagues Petra Drnovice he was chosen as one of the best midfielders in their league before he came to FC Jokerit... =)

Also, you have never been to Russia. How can you say all those things about my country if you never been there? I never been in Finland, but I know how it is in there -- there are good conditions there to live, and I never said anything bad about. But how can you say that Russia is poor? You just cannot get through your thick scull that national teams do not make LEAGUES stronger. I admit that Finnish national teams in at the moment stronger than Russian. But League is not!!!!! Money do not make a league better. Nor good arenas. Nor partnerships with NHL teams.

RESULTS of LEAGUE teams do. RESULTS. And the reply "whatever" means that "ok, we have bad results against Russian teams (and they are not bad at all), but we are still the best. That is an opinion of a very small child.

It's like to say that French soccer league is the best in the world. "French soccer teams haven't won the european cups in a while, but they are the best"


Money do not solve EVEYRTHING. They matter, but they do not solve everyhing. Example -- Inter Milano. They spend tenths of millions of players, but do not get normal results they should.

In the past 10 years there were a lot of sport arenas built all over the world. The past 10 years have been the "rising" years for many countries (including Scandinavian countries, Western European, USA). But the last 10 years were the "reformation" years in Russia. I call it "years of crisis". At a moment the situation stabilized, but again, another financial crisis occured.

So we basically did not have enough money for arenas (The Luzhniki Olimpic Stadium was built, CSKA Sport Centre was reconstructed, St. Petersburg arena was also reconstructed, but that's about it).
and most of arenas Russian Premiership hockey clubs are playing now were built during the soviet ages, when hockey was the "visit card" of USSR -- we were the best BACK then. Right now, the league became worse as many good players left for NHL, but still, in Czech, Finnish, Swedish teams players were leaving too.

In Finland, unlike Russia, the economy was growing for the past decade and there were money for arenas and sport centres.

that is why Russian arenas are worse than other European......


one more thing: THEY DID NOT CONCENTRATE? ha-ha-ha..... HOW CAN YOU NOT TO CONCENTRATE ON THE MOST IMPORTANT TOURNAMENT THAT IDENTIFIES HOW A CERTAIN LEAGUE IS GOOD OR BAD???????????????? YOU know what? TOO BAD FOR YOU.... If Finnish clubs would win the EHL every year the past 5 years or something, then I would not only "face it", I would declare Finnish league as a better league than Russian. But all I hear is that they did not concentrate..............You know what, when finnish clubs WILL concentrate on EHL, THEN I would think that Finnish league is better. Partnership with NHL teams does matter cause we get all their young promising players over here.. example from football it's like getting Ronaldinho on loan. The Russian league only has former soviet nations' players and then your own native players. Wow, bid deal? ooo you must be soo good I'm trembling.. like I said the EHL doesn't interest us anymore and the bosses of the finnish league actually started that tournament in the first place. Back to football what I found out ragious was the fact that you said the Russian league is better than the Scottish and Portuguese. Ok HJK from Finland beat Benfica 2-0 in the 98' Champions League but you don't hear me bragging that the finnish league would be better than the portuguese.. That just made me laugh ok I admit you have some good teams in football in russia in your league scene. Teams like Dinamo are fun to watch and your league may be more "even" in Football when compared to ours but your leagues best teams match up to our leagues best but as a whole your footy league may be better but It is a fact that our hockey league is the second best in the world. If the most respected hockey magazine said that then that has to be the case. I'd rather trust professional editorialists than yourself. Why else would NHL teams want their players to develop over here. As I said we are the only hockey league that NHL teams send their prospects to in Europe.

Our football national team has more interesting and exciting individuals than yours while yours plays well as a team.. But in ice-hockey our national team and our league has been substancially better and that is fact I don't need to proove myself anymore.. if someone would know about hockey here they would laugh at you. Ok I guess your football league teams have played well and so have ours maybe with less success than yours but we are a very small country compared to yours and we specialize in more sports than many other european nations and especially in motor sports in which we win every year in Rally and most recently in Formula 1. We also invented the turns in motorbiking.. the italian driver in Formula 1 Jarno Trulli was named after Jarno Saarinen the legendary motorbike driver..
We are also the 11th most successful nation ever in te Olympics.. from a nation of 5 million that's pretty good but our hockey has been better recently and there is no disputing that..
and your national team was a flop in your own tournament...
If Finland would be the size of Russia with as many ppl who knows what we could accomplish in sports?

I have been to many Scandinavian countries including Finland and I have never been to Russia so I can't say anything about it from what I've seen the situation looks bad and I think Russia is a great country it is just ruled incorrectly and the people are being fooled as you said Rocket it is the gov not the people like Jari said..
