Well, as much as I hated PES6 and uninstalled it for almost a month, I returned back to it.

After a great deal of playing and learning the new tweaks to the game I have to say it's the best in the series so far. I feel kind of embarrassed at my turn-around but I stand by my opinion that PES5 sucked ass big time! PES6, after you adapt to the changes in gameplay, to me is as pretty close to perfect as you can get on current gen.

I've played the heck out of it this last week and I forgot the emotion that PES/WE gives that FIFA, as good as it gets, just doesn't deliver. FIFA just kind of gives a satisfaction feeling when you score as opposed to downright elation when you hit the back of the net in PES6. FIFA is moving in the right direction but even with all of it's licenses, there's just a lack of passion and feeling at the heart of the game that I just can't describe. Nothing gets me screaming, cussing and punching the air as much as the frustration and joy of PES and as good as FIFA 07 on the XBox360 looked and how smooth it played and all of it's authenticity with licenses, it just didn't make me switch from psycho-mad to lottery-winning happiness that PES does.

Anyway, that's the story. The game is great and another year is devoted to Konami. I don't know where the series goes from here, hopefully they can get hte Bundesliga back next year and some licenses but if they don't, I don't really care too much. There's an exchange that goes on when you play a soccer game and we all know that at the core of the game is what it makes you feel, your experience of it and all of the licenses in the world don't make up for screaming 2 inches away from your screen when you finally score in injury time in PES.

indeed, I haven't played fifa since 2001, and when i test out a new fifa at a friends house or something, i play half of the first half, i can't stand it, even without the liscenses, database, and some of fifa's nice mod's

Pes IS football :D

Glad you finally realized that PES6 is the real deal hehe, I know many ppl don't get used to the new changes in PES6. But like you said, its required to spend amount of time to learn the new things. I played FIFA07 early this year before PES6 release, yes, it has improved, basically its copying everything from PES, but the gameplay still sucks. Manager mode is nice but it gets boring quickly, those licenses, music and such are just eyes candy. Comparing to PES6, FIFA07 are too easy even for kids.

Indeed as you say PES5 was not that good (up till pes5 i always played a year of pes until the day i could get my hands on the newest version.with pes5 i only played half a year then switched too Ages of the empire because i was hating pes5 so much.i even deleted it 3 months before pes6,something i had never done in the past.)The only time pes5 amused me was when played with the multi tap.
i had the luck to play the japanese version of pes6(in august or something) and it didn't even take me one match to know that PES was again gonna bring me the joy i had with all the versions before pes5.it suprises me that it takes some ppl so long to realise how better this game is and that it is the ultimate version of all PES.now i hope in future they can finaly make drastic changes to the master league and cup modes so that we can finally have much more control on the structures of this type of competition(still impossible to make a complete replica of the champions league structure after all these years :nape: ) but for now this not a big deal as my main joy is playing against other people (as the cpu gets boring once you know how to destroy him at the highest level)and playing a 2 on 2 (such great fun!!!!!!something you all must try).
LONG LIVE PES and a personal thank you mr Wolf as you are one of the main people that introduced me to a certain thing called patching which just completly erases FIFA! :jap:

Yeah, I think they were working to a "no personal grooming until it's finished" policy!
