It seems that United's problems at the back continue. We shipped two goals for the third game in succession! Stam and Neville (G) were dropped for last night's game, with Ronny Johnsen and Wes Brown in the centre of defence. Giggs gave us the lead after a wonderful pass from Seba Veron, Blackburn equalised through David Beckham (Yes really!)
Then former United winger Keith Gillespie drilled a superb shot from the corner of the box before finally Beckham managed to score at the right end with a wonderful, if not controvertial free kick (Not only was Short dismissed 4 second yellow, but Beckham took the kick before the ref whistled). Also doing his best to throw the game was Fabien Barthez, who's upfield dribbling was twice caught out by Blackburn's £7 million striker Conradi Grabbi, though he failed to capitalise. Overall a great game that most people in England didn't get to see. (PPV £5 + ITV was only allowed to show 3 mins) Blackburn certainly look stronger than many people expected and in the end we were thankful to rescue a point.
