Shots find the back of the net too easily in FIFA 2001, even at the highest difficulty level. Especially bicycle kicks.
To compensate, I've increased goalkeeping and positioning skills by two points for every keeper on every team in the English League. I've also reduced shooting skills by two points for every player on every team in the English league.
That helped, but scoring is still way too easy. Playing 6 minute halves at World Class, on Slower speed, I regularly get games with a scoreline of 3-3, out of maybe five shots a side.
Scoring seems to escalate, too. Once a team scores, it gets easier for them to score again. Maybe that's due to fatigue, or some motivational routine EA built into the game.
Has anybody successfully brought scoring down to a more realistic pace? I'd like to be able to play 45 minute halves without a basketball scoreline.
Other than the scoring, FIFA 2001 feels great, a real improvement over past efforts.
