I can only tell you the name of the goalkeeper: Felix. He sucked big time, he was the weak part of this great team.

I just made a terrible mistake...looking at the stadium more closely, I found out that it's in the city of Guadalajara, Estadio Jalisco. Now, this is a fact. I'm 100% sure. :D :D

Estadio Azteca in Mexico city looks much more bigger than this...that's how I found out that I had made a huge mistake.

Help?

If the pic of Brazil <1970> is of the team that played in the final against italy, this is the official lineup for that game, but i don't s'pose that the players in the pic actually line up with the order of names below ... Ned
.............................................

4 (1) BRAZIL
Pelé 19
Gerson 65
Jairzinho 70
Carlos Alberto 86

1 (1) ITALY
Boninsegna 37
Albertosi, Cera, Burgnich, Bertini (Juliano), Rosato, Facchetti, Domenghini, Mazzola, de Sisti, Boninsegna (Rivera), Riva.

.............................................
There are some matches in the World Cup that will be remembered longer than others. This 1970 encounter between Brazil and Italy is such a match. In 1930 they said the first nation to win the World Cup three times would take permanent possession of the trophy. Before this final, both Brazil and Italy had won the cup twice, so it was clear that one of them would win it forever.

This turned out to be a classic final. It summed up the whole tournament, which had been probably the best ever. Brazil had played some superb attacking football, so too had Italy who actually scored eight goals in the quarter and semifinal. The final looked tight and Italy managed to keep Pelé and company quiet in the opening. But after 19 minutes, Pelé headed home a Rivelino cross, from a Tostao throw-in. But eight minutes before the interval, a defensive mistake allowed Boninsegna to steal the ball and beat goalkeeper Felix to equallize.

However, in the second half, Italy had little to contribute with. Brazil looked the better team and after 65 minutes, Gerson beat one defender before firing home a marvellous goal from outside the penalty area. Five minutes later, Gerson again was involved, when his long ball was headed down by Pelé for Jairzinho to score. That meant that Jairzinho had scored in every round of the cup including the final, a feat never emulated, neither before or after this match. At 3-1 the game was virtually over and with four minutes to go, Brazillian captain Carlos Alberto was fed by Pelé and fired home a great shot to end a brilliant move. Brazil won the cup and deservedly so.

Manager Mario Zagallo became the first man to win the cup as both player and coach. He was a member of both the 1958 and 1962 championship winning sides, and could add this third title to his collection now. In France 1998 he coached Brazil again, but his team then lost in the final to the hosts. Many people claim that this 1970 team was the best football team ever. At least it won many admirers world wide, and many of the players are legends in the sport.
..........................................
Footnote, the most amazing thing about the Mexico 1970 world finals was the fact that there were NO players sent of during the entire festival, which proves to me that you don't have to be a nasty bastard to gain 'respect' and results ....
............................................

TOPSCORERS .........
Gerd Müller (GER) .......... 10 goals
Jairzinho (BRA) .......... 7 goals
Teofilio Cubillas (PER) .... 5 goals
Pelé (BRA) ................. 4 goals
Anatoliy Bishovets (SOV) ... 4 goals
.......................................

OTHER STATISTICS
Number of games ........ 32
Total goals scored ..... 95
Average per game ..... 2.97
Sendings off ..... NONE
Own goals ..... NONE
Total attendance ..... 1,673,975
Average attendance ..... 52,312

Which one is Pele? They all look the same.

Front row, second from the left, i had to turn up the brightness on the monitor to try to see more definition in the pic .. here is the Brazilian 1982 "Dream Team" that played in the contentious Spanish World Championships, this side was hotly fancied to win it, but went out in the second group stage when they were grouped with Argentina and Italy 'eventual winners' thanks to the amazing late form of Paolo Rossi ..
...........................................
BRAZIL
Socrates , Falcao
Valdir Perez, Leandro, Oscar, Luizinho, Junior, Cerezo, Zico, Falcao, Serginho (Paulo Isidoro), Socrates, Eder.

Guys I know what Pele looks like but I wasn't sure from the foto. I rather be blind than stupid. Ha ha. I see him now he has a weird look on his face I couldn't recognize him without his trademark big smile.

http://www.futbrasil.com/personalidades/pb025.html

You will find a pic of Carlos Alberto Torres, skipper of the 1970 team 'no beard' here with the world cup in his hand, also another smaller colour pic of that team, mmm, i am going to have to contact some of my Brazilian mates to help sort out this puzzle, i know a few of the faces on the team pic, but i can't put the names to most of them, but i would say that the two last players on the right of the frontline are Rivelino "moustache" and Jairzinho, and a long shot with Carlos Alberto on the right hand end of the back line .. Second from the right, front row, I recognise a very young Roberto Rivelino, no bad player himself.

Cheers,
