I got some pretty decent players from there, you don't spend a penny on them except for their wages there all old there's a odd 27,28 year old crite9 03-01-2007, 07:40:PM thanks for all the great advice happy footballing nebulachapin 05-01-2007, 10:29:PM Free agents demand such high wages though! You have to use some sense and also get some luck. I have landed some very excellent players by looking around. I have a few cases for you. (1) A player NOT on the market. I bid for Danny Szetela in MLS who was 22 when I and at 77. I offered him a decent salary (like 4500 pounds) and bid down, like 900k, and low and behold I got him, and his market value shot up to 2 million right away. He was worth 3.9 by the time I moved teams, the next season. (2) Just signed this kid, Boussong from French Ligue 1, at 83, central defender, only like 3000 pounds a week salary for 5 years! I bid 1.5 million pounds and again landed him, and his value shot up by 2 right away. So there are ways to make money and land great players for less funds. Adamo 06-01-2007, 03:03:AM I think you should always check the free agents. You can grab an older striker for pretty good money. And, no transfer fee. StevePitts 06-01-2007, 09:20:AM I think you should always check the free agents. You can grab an older striker for pretty good money No doubt it is always worth checking to see who is available, there will often be one or two real surprises (Agbonlahor showed up at the start of my second season with Wycombe) but as someone said above, free agents always seem to be vastly more expensive than players acquired via any other route. This may not be as noticeable with a top level team, but I signed Nicola Beati to my Wycombe team at the start of season two, a 72 rated CDM, and he still earns more than the rest of the team put together. nebulachapin 06-01-2007, 08:33:PM No doubt it is always worth checking to see who is available, there will often be one or two real surprises (Agbonlahor showed up at the start of my second season with Wycombe) but as someone said above, free agents always seem to be vastly more expensive than players acquired via any other route. Uh yes, its me the "snippy guy" who said that. I feel for you and your expensive signings. My first "big" signing for me (Yeovil Town) made 6 times as much as any other player on my squad. But, note my signing of (actually his name is) Sebastien Bassong (83). I am only paying him 3k a week in a 5 year contract which is less than I paid my first big signing for Yeovil who was a 63. (I have since moved on to Everton). StevePitts 07-01-2007, 10:08:AM I feel for you and your expensive signings Signing, singular, 'cos I decided after that first one that it was way too expensive to bring players onto my team that way. Heck, the guy's CS bonus was more than six times as much as anyone else was earning - I'm surprised that the rest of the team didn't go out on strike. My first "big" signing for me (Yeovil Town) made 6 times as much as any other player on my squad Was that a free agent or a transfer from another team?? I get the impression from digging around during the transfer season that it is much cheaper (in terms of wages, obviously) to transfer players from another club than to sign up free agents. Either that or they are free agents because they want too much money!! note my signing of (actually his name is) Sebastien Bassong (83). (I have since moved on to Everton) Negotiator level must play into this, and I'm sure that you'll have a higher level with Everton than Yeovil, but I wonder whether team prestige and manager prestige factor in too?? Either way your experience stacks up with mine, in that the system is definitely harder on the lower teams. nebulachapin 08-01-2007, 05:48:AM Signing, singular, 'cos I decided after that first one that it was way too expensive to bring players onto my team that way. Heck, the guy's CS bonus was more than six times as much as anyone else was earning - I'm surprised that the rest of the team didn't go out on strike. In the beginning I did a combination with a much heavier weighting on youth talent and scouting prospects than actually signing players from other squads. I never got a free agent in the beginning because I simply couldnt afford their salaries. Was that a free agent or a transfer from another team?? I get the impression from digging around during the transfer season that it is much cheaper (in terms of wages, obviously) to transfer players from another club than to sign up free agents. Either that or they are free agents because they want too much money!! It was from another team. I can't remember which but it was surely a League 1 or 2 team. I couldn't get the time of day from anyone else. You are spot on regarding free agents. Their free exatly because they want too much money. Negotiator level must play into this, and I'm sure that you'll have a higher level with Everton than Yeovil, but I wonder whether team prestige and manager prestige factor in too?? I found that signing players has become much easier because of the higher level of negotiator. At the same time, however, I was doing pretty well signing players at Yeovil. I just didnt have the money to get any great players! But at the end I was signing free agents and I got a few good ones who contributed very much despite their inflated salaries. BTW, my move to Everton was prompted by the fact that I simply could not get a sponser in the premiership (in the premiership mind you!) who would not give me more than 16k a week! And I finished 2nd! Another flaw in the EA engine. I haven't got there yet (still mired in the middle of my third season, whilst I write some code to fix the fixture congestion, so that I can use my own career to test it) but my impression is that sponsorship is based on your team's prestige levels (there are separate levels for domestic and international prestige). My domestic prestige has risen to 6.1 from a starting point of 4, but international prestige is still stuck at 3 (not unsurprisingly). I'd be interested to know what your Yeovil prestige levels were when you switched teams, but unless you have a save from just before the end of that season we'll never know. nebulachapin 08-01-2007, 06:48:PM I haven't got there yet (still mired in the middle of my third season, whilst I write some code to fix the fixture congestion, so that I can use my own career to test it) but my impression is that sponsorship is based on your team's prestige levels (there are separate levels for domestic and international prestige). I do have a save from the end of my 4 year Yeovil campaign. I always save before the beginning of the next season. Let me know how I can check these numbers. KULCAT 08-01-2007, 09:38:PM Im coaching the New York Red Bulls on the MLS right now and they have a lot of high 50`s to high 60`s players that are VERY FAST and because of that good playmakers. you could check there StevePitts 09-01-2007, 07:43:AM I do have a save from the end of my 4 year Yeovil campaign. Two easy ways, either use my EAFFAnalyser utility (which is in beta, but only because I prefer to spend time updating it rather than completing the documentation) to generate reports for yourself that will show that information (as per the team details for Wycombe (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/steve.pitts/eaffanalyser/fifa07/1stWyc_current/f2k7dump_1stWyc_team_1933.html) on my web site), or send me the manager mode data file and I'll generate them. Either way PM me and let me know which route you'd like to go. If you'd like to try the utility then I'll need an email address, and if you'd like me to generate the information then I'll need to send you mine. hell_storm2004 09-01-2007, 12:00:PM try the lower leagues like mexico, k-league or mls..... there's one player in german bundesliga in the team duisberg..... i think he goes by the name of "andrissou" or "indrissou" or some other "ssou"!!!!!.... u can buy him!!!! he has a skill of 69..... and he can put the ball in the back of the net very efficiently...... which season are you in rite now???? if you are in the end stages of your career you may not find him coz he may have retired!!!! nebulachapin 09-01-2007, 09:39:PM That's what I like to hear - me too!!
