I know its a bit early but im seriously hyped for this game, theres some great talent on show for both sides, im just disappointed I wont be going to the game as Arsenal put on such a great show when I went to Old Trafford last.

Arsenal have never lost at the emirates, and Wenger is currently beating ferguson 13 victories to 12 apparently.

My prediction 3-1 Arsenal Henry, Rosicky and Adebayor in the 85th minute

May the best team win!

Kid_danomyte

Any idea what the starting eleven for the sides are?

ogsimon
16-01-2007, 03:27:PM
well my guess for arsenal would be

Lehmo, Eboue, Toure, Djourou, Clichy, Flamini, Fabregas, Rosicky, Hleb, Van Persie, Henry

ManU?? VDS, evra, ferdinand, Vidic, Neville, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Cronaldo, Rooney, Larsson?

Adebayor to come on in te 85th minute

I think we all know what Larsson can do against Arsenal.

But still, I expect it to be a good match, I'll give it a guess (not that I've ever been right with this fixture) and say 3-1 United.

Giggs, Ronaldo, Henry, Scholes

Arsenal has been playing good fotball latly,so i am a litle worried about the match!
i don't think there will be a lot of goals in this one
I predict:
0-1
goal by Scholes in the 53th minute

Tough one to call , im going with a draw or arsenal win.

This is a tough one, either a 1-1 (Larsson,Adebayor) draw or a 1-2 (Larsson, Rooney and Adebayor)win for us, as long as Chelsea doesn't win against the Dippers. I hope Rooney can find his goalscoring touch in this game, it will be important to take any chance

16-01-2007, 10:46:PM
I'm feeling pretty confident about this one. Giggs got a good rest, Ronaldo is flying, Larsson seems to be on form and is always trying to help the team, Saha is back from injury and almost full fitness, Vidic and Evra are playing like the best defebsive partnership in the world and we had a full week to prepare for it. Fergie won't be underestimating Arsenal this time around and even though Arsenal may be unbeaten in their new stadium, only because neither Chelsea nor United played there yet, plus half of those games were draws, i think their away form is actually better than home form.

I didn't feel confident about the game at Old Trafford and everybody was laughing at me like i was an idiot for predicting that Arsenal be underestimated and beat us. But this time i am feeling that we can take this game, i have full confidence in our lads.

Kid_danomyte
16-01-2007, 10:58:PM
If Saha is back, would he start or wud it be Rooney Larson?

I feel that ManU might dominate the game but wouldnt good finishing.
And Arsenal would just convert as best as they can

Gunnersgoal22
16-01-2007, 11:37:PM
I'm expecting a very tight but good match. But since Henry has not always been great against Man U or at Emirates I'll say...
1-0 Man U (C. Ronaldo)
I'd change that prediction very quickly though if Wenger starts Baptista.

I cant really call this one, although I would favour Arsenal to win, i can see it ending as a draw aswell.

so will Gallas be back for the game? He is one player Arsenal will need for a game like this.

21-01-2007, 06:03:PM
Yeah, the team didn't look like they wanted to win it from the first minute. Barely any pressure at all. Not once did i see United play with high tempo, everything was to slow the game down and try to pass it around. After we scored a goal, we should have been pushing for the second to end the game, but instead everybody wanted to slow it down even more, it was slow enough all ready. At 1-1, why take off Ronaldo for Heinze? We should be pushing for a winner, not a draw. Truly Arsenal deserved the win, as much as i didn't want it, they really did.

And again 4-5-1 tactic???????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????????????? I can't put enough questions marks to try and figure out how this tactic is supposed to work??????????????? Yet, Ferguson seems to think that its the best defensive tactic out there!!!!!! Not once did it work and it wont work any other time either.

unbelievable game. i do miss those games where it was rock hard everyone jumping on each other rather than two pansies like eboue and rooney slapping each other pretending they shot each other.
i thought the penalty incident was a penalty but henry made the most of it, which in the refs eyes was too much.
just like someone said, united conceded the way they scored - losing the marker at the back post (van persie's).
ferdinand isnt to blame for henrys goal, he jumped as high as he could, eboue's cross was just inch perfect really.
of all the times we go down 1-0, level it up 1-1 and cant find the winner, it was worth it to just get it this one time.

edit: after looking again, it is ferdinands fault. he didnt pickup henry. however, it wasnt vidic's fault tho ;)

all I'm saying is they have good young players. our defence decided to lose concentration when it mattered on both goals. Arsenal and United weren't at their best today.

You say 4-5-1 isn't to blame and then in the next post say that we didn't dominate the midfield enough. When was the last time we played well with that tactic? Name me one game, when we played 4-5-1 with Rooney on the left or the right and we dominated anything? CL is the perfect example of how bad it is. We didn't dominate the midfield because we only had 1 forward up front, which put less pressure on Arsenal's defense and allowed them more space and time to cover out our midfield. The tactic never worked and never will, until we get a striker like Ruud. Larsson is not a player to take on defenses by himself, he needs players around him to play well, same with Saha. But when you got 2 defenders on you at all times, it becomes a bit hard to do that. 4-5-1 sucks, plain and simple. We lost concentration because Ferie wanted United to defend, not attack.

Forgot henry was playing. Didn't deserve a win, didn't deserve to loose. Thought the reffing was very biased in the game, with a fair few arsenal challenges going unpunished. Nothing you can do though.

Worst thing was bringing heinze on, changing the back four, and also removing ronaldo as the attacking outlet.

Forgot henry was playing. Didn't deserve a win, didn't deserve to loose. Thought the reffing was very biased in the game, with a fair few arsenal challenges going unpunished. Nothing you can do though.

Worst thing was bringing heinze on, changing the back four, and also removing ronaldo as the attacking outlet.

what the hell are you talking about, arsenal had more possesion, more shots off and on goal and they just looked the better team on the day, if reffing was biased it was towards man u, that was a penalty and only 4 mins for dam van der sars time wasting what a joke, get your facts right

4-5-1 dosen't suck. Just didn't control the game in the middle of the park apart from the first 10mins. Fergie you thought would know that Arsenal defence is pretty average at times. He should have attack more eg with the 4-4-2.

It would have been a very soft penalty. Eboue did try his best to annoy Rooney, some of his challanges were yellow card offesives.

United has been leaking goals in the last minutes lately. Like the last 5 goals were all scored in the last 15 minutes. That needs to stop, and the 4-5-1 needs to stop too or Lille will be playing in the quaterfinals.

Arsenal was the better team today, but what else do you expect they played at home, both teams didn't create a lot of chances, IMO Evra was MotM for United, Carrick was up there too, Henry didn't do anything except for his goal, and it wasn't a penalty IMO, he dived, considering Chelsea's result this was another oppertunity to extend our lead, but that would be tough against an Arsenal side who's playing at home. A draw would have been fair, but Arsenal deserved the victory in the end. Ronaldo had a tough game, he didn't do a lot, but he kept Eboue at the back, bringing Heinze on was an understandable sub, SAF was happy with a draw, but Ronaldo kept Eboue in place and for that the choice of bringing Ronaldo off was wrong

To be honest, United didn't do a lot wrong. Just a couple lapses of concentration at the end (which could be cause for concern) cost them today. Look at the bright side, still 6 points clear. People are saying that Arsenal deserved the win, but I think a draw would be a fair result. Arsenal were pretty much reduced to long shots that didn't hit the target. They hardly created anything, but unfortunately poor defending eventually resulted in two goals.

Henry getting MoTM was a joke too, he did one thing in the entire match, which was on the 93rd minute. Hardly MoTM material. Entertaining match today, some good football played by both sides.

I know that's so gay - my favourite player! Apparently it was from scoring the goal.. Supposedly out for 6-7 weeks, awful news. That mean he'll lose his top scorer spot (for the club), henry'll blaitently catch up. You could say man u were hard done by, purely because the two shots that were the goals were the only good shots all game from us really.

Good win, not going be in the title race though. Sure Manutd have a tough run-in but I cant see them dropping 13 points. The team showed good potential today.

We are picking off the big teams one by one, now for the weaners of the league

Nah, lets not get dissillusional here, you and Liverpool are in the race for the second spot, Chelsea and United are in the race for the title ;). Catching up Chelsea's 5-6 point lead might be accomplishable with a lot of luck, but United's 11-12? Nah.

HAHAHAH it feels good to beat the soon to be EPL champs twice this season. Im sure this will be a wake up call to the Mancs and they wont drop many points after this.

And its funny how we cant beat them in like 4 seasons but we beat them twice in their best season in like 5 yrs.

MOM has to be Fabregas he OWNED the midfield. NEVER lost the ball. His passing ratio had to be like 90%. One of the best in the EPL and he is ONLY 19 BITCHES!!!!!!!!

GUNNERZ 4 LIFE. hats off the mancs though for putting in sum good entertainment.

Yeah!!! Fergie is like "i thought we were gonna definietly win the game, we were so good at the back, the goals were totally unexpected" :nape: :nape: . I could see those goals a mile away, usually when a team is constantly controlling the ball around your area, they come to a point where they shot on net and score a goal. Apparently Fergie wasn't aware of such tactics like shooting.

this is the problem when most of peoples still think that MoTM is for the one who really play their best or whatsoever..yup..it's true that the player performance on the match is another criteria but the title Man of The Match speak it self...the man who makes the diff. in a game though.. so whether u like it or not..just take it because the FA will not reduce any points from MU :nape:
& henry will only get a bottle of beer or whatsoever that alex ferguson will never ever really care of.

Man if anyone deserves MOM it has to be Fabregas. He dominated the midfield, never made a bad pass, and was a constant threat going forward. His only mistake was not being fast enough to catch up to Evra. But that was more of Hlebs fault for not tracking back.
