Hey guys, Im glad Mark closed the last one which became a joke at the end (bashing the Raps for no reason and showing some of us are no better than the scum who go to Raps games to bash basketball or anyone who ever bashed Football (Soccer) or Rugby with no real knowledge of the sports in Canada.

Guys, if you want to get up to the second news: http://torontomls.blogspot.com

This site has predicted everything DAYS before Torontofc.ca even posted it (or even the media). (They are saying that the captain of Poland could be on his way to TFC)

+ we just picked up a defender from New Zealand (we truly are going to be the multi cultural team in the MLS <like with the Raps>)

awesome.

PS- Do FIFA games have MLS teams? Cause even though Winning Eleven takes a piss on the last few FIFAs (except 07 which is pretty good), ill prob buy it to play as TFC for sure.

take care guys

i'm thrilled Toronto will have a soccer club I can support, especially one in the MLS... does anyone know how many of their games are going to be shown on TV and on which channels?

I thought Sportsnet would be all over TFC games, but still no word on TV rights for the team :S so the home opener is April 28 against the KC Wizards if I remember correctly, which kinda sucks because I'm pretty sure that's in the middle of my final exam period. definately gonna catch a few games during the summer though, single game tickets aren't likely to sell out, are they? (except for maybe the Galaxy games :p)

PS, about Bak:

from the blog: "Again Mo has said he was looking specifically for a midfield player and has stated several times Toronto FC will not sign an ageing mid-30's type."

from the interview: "Yes, it’s a Polish defender/back*. He’s the captain, he’s played in France for 10 years, he’s 33 years old, 6’ 4”. I think it’d be good for our young defense having someone like that helping."

errr...?

I seriously doubt it, he refused to go to England and some other country because he wanted to stay in Italy and help Juve return to Serie A and get a CL spot for 2008. He'll retire in a couple of years and stay in Turin with his family and not return to the Czech Republic.

Why no "Honors" category like all the other threads have :(?

Ok I'll quit messing aroung heheheh...

I didn't know you guys were gonna be playing on artificial turf, that's a bit of a letdown because I never liked how it looked on TV, for a football game it's ok but for soccer it just looks weird and out of place and the ball bounces funny. I hope everything turns out ok though and it doesn't put the fans off. I'll be visiting this thread fairly often. I have a feeling it will be the most discussed MLS thread on SG by far.

::shinji::
18-01-2007, 02:03:AM
supposedly it's some new high-tech artificial turf that's supposed to imitate real grass quite well.. from what I've read it looks and plays like real grass and not like that green carpet stuff

rony31
18-01-2007, 03:32:AM
I was in UofT's new bubble dome the other day and it was my first time actually walking and running on artificial turf, felt pretty normal until you fall down, that **** is SHARP :(

Interesting quote from The Globe and Mail:

"Sources say the CBC, The Score and Rogers Sportsnet are interested in airing FC games, and perhaps also TSN, although its summer schedule is loaded. The digital soccer channels GOLTV and Fox Sports World Canada may be in the mix."

Looks like we won't have to worry about tv coverage, just a matter of waiting to see who ends up getting the contract. Personally I hope it's Sportsnet, they covered TFC's progress from idea to reality. Dobson and Craig Forest also do a great job of covering the EPL, I'd hate to have to watch games with some soccer n00bs from another channel doing the commentary.

IMO, TSN is the worst of the bunch... I have no faith in them when it comes to covering soccer, yeah they show us CL games, but as soon as some Curling tournament is on they move the air time to 3:30 a.m. Somehow, I think they give prefference to poker over Toronto FC matches too...

mark77
26-01-2007, 08:08:PM
I read a long time ago that a TSN2 could be in the works. They could show MLS and the rest of the CL games that the regular TSN doesn't show.

::shinji::

Bah, TSN is showing CL games at ridiculous hours this week because of curling...f*ck I hate it when they do this! RDS is playing the Real Madrid-Bayern game at regular time but ofcourse I don't have RDS

Definitely the red is a keeper. I'm not too keen on the gray either.

I definitely like how they are doing the team in a traditional football manner with the shield and the sponsor and not doing some lameass North Americanization of the squad.

I am very excited about this. 14000 seasons tickets!!

I want to try to get one of those 10 game packs which includes the Beckham match.

Can't wait for the season to start!

I'm slightly dissapointed I have to admit... the red looks ok, but I hate grey kits, they always look so drab (especially on tv). I would have preffered white I think.

The problem is that practically every MLS team has white away uniforms. Makes our league look kind of boring, people have been complaining about that for years.

But yeah, gray is not the answer either.

::shinji::
24-03-2007, 04:35:PM
yeah, white is usually the default go-to colour for away kits.. I still like it though, but I know what you mean.

I kinda like what a lot EPL teams (others too) do with their away kits, they have their traditional home jersey, then the away look changes (and not necissarily always traditional team colours) with every new season. Toronto FC could have easily got away with like a baby-blue or something strip for the away kit here

zlojack
24-03-2007, 05:36:PM
I guess the gray is a team colour, so they played it safe there.

I am going to wait until I actually see one up close, but I'm definitely going to get the red one.

So who here is going to become a "Red Patch Boy"?

BMO Field is ready and running! The team had their first training session in the stadium recently.

Photos of the stadium:
http://toronto.fc.mlsnet.com/t280/stadium/construction/

Looks like an European second division stadium, but I like the feel of it. The only thing that bothers me a bit is how there is no stands on the one end, just a big ugly scoreboard. But, can't wait to be there for the U20's in the summer!

0-1 down at halftime after Galindo sprung our offside trap. Our backline is too big and slow, they better keep the offside traps perfect or they'll have trouble dealing with the pace of the Chivas strikers.

But man oh man, those two amazing chances for Buddle and Eskandarian! Guzan coming up huge with the saves. I nearly jumped with the first chance, thought it was going to be the first ever goal in franchise history, after just 16 minutes! :p

rony31
08-04-2007, 06:21:AM
we've looked like **** in the 2nd half. we had 3 or 4 good chances in the 1st half, all squandered by Eskandarian and Buddle (N)

we look like an amateur team out there sometimes; our passing, our offside trap, our general control on the ball, looks like a high school team at times :( 5 minutes to go, not looking good for our first game

edit: forgot to mention how bad Eskandarian is, he's given the ball away at least 20 times in the middle of the park, 0 awareness all game long

Help?
08-04-2007, 06:21:AM
Canizales was pretty impressive in the first half. We were much better in the first half overall, but second half is all Chivas. BTW that shot Eskandarin had in the first half, imo was more of a **** up from him, rather than amazing save from Guzan. He had huge amount of time and acres of space, but decided to shot hurriedly and ended up hitting it high and almost into the middle of the net, if not for the strong pace of the ball, that would have been called a mis-hit, really should have done better there.

PS. Was that a Toronto flag i just saw? Pretty sick flag, covered like two sections.

thetrooper37
08-04-2007, 06:38:AM
Definitely a lot needs to be worked on but these guys are only starting to work as a team, I'd expect them to get better and more confident as the season rolls on. I thought that in the first half our right back was absolute **** (I donno who it is) and the left midfielder that got taken off first. We also need to learn to control the ball and not give it away so easily and there was a lot of high school type passing as already mentioned.

Hopeunited
08-04-2007, 06:40:AM
oh god, what kind of second half was that? Everybody was just walking. I don't if it's the big pitch or if they just decided they'd just play like amateurs.

::shinji::
08-04-2007, 02:03:PM
A tale of 2 halves for sure... we were so unlucky not to be up 2-0 after the first half. The second half was just unacceptable, even for a new team..

I wasn't impressed with Eskandarian or Buddle, and Casey just looked lost when he came on. Hopefully finishing isn't going to become a problem area for us as the season rolls on..

Moreira_Benfica
08-04-2007, 03:14:PM
yea Casey pissed me off so did Welsh, i dont like us always using the offside trap because were to slow to recover as you seen many times, also we gotta tell our defence when they think a guy is offisde still run after him dont just jog and look at the linesman.

so far a player that caught my attention was Miguel Canizales, he seems like a good player.

btw did the linesman hate us? there were 2 attacks we had that he called offside when we were liek 3 feet behind the defenders lmao

thetrooper37
08-04-2007, 06:21:PM
Canizales did impress...apparently he came on last minute for someone injured? If so, then maybe Canizales should take the left mid position... 'cause whoever was playing there the first half just sucked.

::shinji::
08-04-2007, 06:57:PM
Canizales had a good first half, but like the rest didn't do much in the 2nd. He'll be benched as soon as Ronnie O'Brien is back..

Mo Johnson needs to work on motivating players, because if that's how the team's gonna react when they go down a goal then we're in for a long season.

davidcfs
08-04-2007, 07:02:PM
Buddle played like ****. I've never seen a player try so little to get a pass, I know the passing wasn't great but Buddles effort was nothing short of pathetic and it was frustrating to watch. When he didn't have to work for a pass he played half decent, but that was like 4 times. And Eskandarian and the bycle kick what the hell was that, we looked like a team poorly trained.

Help?
08-04-2007, 07:25:PM

Having gone through a similar situation myself (Charlotte Bobcats in the NBA) the first season is always tough as hell but it will get better. I have a feeling you guys are gonna be a better team at home, if the crowd puts enough pressure on the visiting team it might just give you that extra edge you need to get a result.

Just make sure you don't end up with the worst MLS season points total in history or something like that, that would be embarrasing :(

::shinji::
15-04-2007, 01:26:PM
The Revs clearly looked like a higher level team last night...after the first 20 minutes I knew the score was gonna end up being pretty ugly.

Terrible attitude from the team too, did anyone else notice we only started playing with some aggression AFTER we were down 0-3? I hope Buddle gets benched for a while, what a useless player... even Ibrahim looked better in the 5 minutes he played at the end. The Revs freely crossed midfield without much opposition all night, it was painful to watch..

I'd like to see us play a 4-5-1, with Casey as the target man and more wing play. It was too hard to watch Buddle try to be Cristiano Ronaldo and dribble 3 players everytime he had the ball. After KC, we have a bunch of home games, I really hope we take advantage of that.

Alright, could someone sum up their TV schedule? I'd like to start watching them a bit seeing how I'm gonna be living in Toronto next year instead of Windsor.

I think that with all the hype that Toronoto will get a new team, some fans got a bit dillusional hoping for some miracle. The team is not very young to be able to play with anybody well. This guys need a bit of time to learn who is good at what, we got players coming in from all over the place. So, don't be surprised if Toronto finishes last this season. Well, the tickets we got for the home opener are in Section 116, behind the goal... the supporters section I think is in 113, so we're not right there.

We also get access to BMO field for a preview on Wednesday night to watch the Kansas match on a big screen.

The scarf is actually pretty cool (Sorry for the blurry pics:$):

Hah, 0-3, and 0-3 overall. F***ing awesome. Another garbage performance, except for the last 10 minutes.

Some of these players are way too crap, they just don't cut it. Carl Robinson is crap, he needs to be taken out of the central position for good, and why the **** is he wearing the captain's armband and a jersey that doesn't have a sponsor on it and looks different from everybody else's? Andy Welsh was utter useless once again. These two Brits are getting shown up by Americans. Marco Reda is way too slow and clumsy in his big frame, we simply cannot have him back there defending speedy skillful players like Eddie. Our new signing at right back has a poor touch on the ball, but I hope he gets better with time. And Edson Buddle as usual just walks around and dribbles and dribbles and dribbles with little effect.

The last ten minutes was finally some decent stuff from us. We were actually able to put more than 3 passes together and create some chances with the speed and skill of Eskandarian and Canizalez. Mo needs to get out of his functional fixedness shell and start playing the guys that are ready to play, not just his "big name" Brits regardless of performance.

I've only watched the second half, but I thought Canizalez was fairly effective after coming on, especially compared to Welsh. Eskandarian created a couple of good chances. And I thought Goldthwaite, Brennan, and Sutton were the only other players that played decent, despite their combined faults (along with Reda and Wynne, of course) on KC's 2nd goal.

Home f***ing opener. Toronto FC, please don't embarrass yourselves in front of all these anxiously enthusiastic fans.

Was at BMO Field last night. They had sort of a little party or whatever there with the game on the big screen. The field is really nice. The Red Patch Boys and U-Sector were chanting and singing. I think Saturday it's going to be insane! Too bad we suck:(

Our play overall was encouraging compared to the last 3 games but the result is still dissapointing.. The defence looked a bit better although it was still very sloppy at times, Eskandarian played the best he has so far, and Dichio looks to have a real presence on the field.. too bad he didn't get the service. Oh well, on to the next game..

btw, I watched the game on TV but after seeing the crowd I'm regretting not making the trip to Toronto. Congrats to the fans at BMO field.

Well TFC played better but still couldn't score. The ref sucked ass. He kept calling every single little foul and ruined the flow.

The team faded in the second half and we got to see good old traditional route one British football. Way to develop the players Mo. And why are the players looking exhausted in the second half? I expect them to be fit already.

The CBC production was awesome. Kicked the **** outta the crappy Kansas tv production back on Wednesday. MLS take note.

That was what we were singing:

"All we are saying....
is give us a goal!"

The support in the stadium was unreal. The stands are all metal and at one point the whole place was stomping and chanting T-F-C (stomp, stomp, stomp)
It sounded like thunder. Just amazing.
We stood for the whole 90 minutes, and didn't even notice it. Apparently some people wanted others to sit, but were promptly told where to go (as opposed to the usual Canadian politeness, which would have had everyone sitting :|)

I just got home! What an amazing match! We really stepped it up and if that's how the team is going to play, we are going to have a much better season than anticipated. O'Brien made a huge difference, even in his first game back. Once he gets up to full speed, he'll do awesome. Welsh should not be playing out wide. He is too weak and loses too many balls. Wynne was an excellent pickup. I've still got some faith in Mo!

Dichio is God to TFC supporters. He plays balls out all game and gives it all. Totally impressive. I mean, I haven't watched them on TV, but live you can really see the emotion and the effort this guy puts in, in only his second game with the club, he's already a legend.(H)

nah, seat cushions. I think they gave them out to all the fans, and I'm pretty sure they were made of foam or something because I saw a Chicago player get hit with one at the end of the match (after he kicked out at Braz I think it was for shouldering him and letting the ball run out) and he didn't even flinch

Welsh is so ******* horrible it's unbelievable. scores a good goal thanks to O'Brien but other than that he's done nothing right. ****in 1-on-1 with the keeper and he tries to square it and misses the chance to make it 2-0 :nape: and Esky's doing pretty horrible too, but at least he runs a lot and makes a pest of himself.

Sutton and the defense looking solid today, Edu & Robinson doing well in midfield to slow down the Dynamo attack somewhat, O'Brien MoM so far, Buddle random as usual... 1-0 lead at HT over the defending champs, let's hope we can keep it (Y)

This Portuguese U20 team isn't generally considered as good as others in the recent past, but as far as stars go I guess Bruno Gama from Sporting Braga is considered the star of the team by many. He's an attacking number 10 player, has speed and strong technique.

Vieirinha from FC Porto is an exiting winger too, makes some great runs down the sidelines..

Well, I got to see it live which was great, but we lost. Andy Welsh sucks as always...I swear this guy was struggling to keep up only 10 minutes into the game. Defence is always shaky and from what I remember, that wasn't really a penalty, was it? It seemed like the guy fell after the tackle.

Thomas Radzinski was cut by Fulham yesterday, anyone think he will come here and play for us? him/Dichio would be awsome at the front, screw Buddle

::shinji::
20-05-2007, 05:34:PM
Radzinski won't come, or at least I highly doubt it.. he's an a-hole anyways. I remember watching an interview with him way back while BMO was still under construction and when he was asked if he'd be interested in playing here he kinda snickered and basically said he wasn't ready to end his career yet.. :|

He's overrated and past it anyhow, Lombardo is the future of Canadian soccer now. Mark my words he's gonna be a top flight player in the coming years and will make a permanent move to a Euro club in the near future. I can't remember the last time I saw a Canadian player with such vision and class on the ball at such a young age (maybe only Hargreaves and Hume to a lesser extent), he really plays like he's got more experience than he actually does and you can tell he's been exposed to a different school of football. That time playing in Italy he had really shows..

...and I agree, I'm sick of Buddle too. He's a terrible, terrible player.. awkward skills, indecisive, and can't keep possesion worth a sh!t. Welsh is a disaster too, he f*cked up about 4 really good crossing opportunities yesterday simply because he has no technique, he totally plays like a typical Div. 2 English player. C'mon Mo, wtf...?

We also need a stronger, more experienced central defender. Boyens is alright, but he clearly lacks experience right now. Makes a lot of short passes out of the defence even under pressure and always looks like he can get left behind by a quick attacker just because of weak positioning. Don't get me wrong, I like him and he belongs on the squad, I just don't think he's starter quality atm.

My take on the TFC..

I knew Welsh was an English import, but I thought he was at least 31 or so years old... I looked him up and was shocked to not only see that he actually played premiership soccer a couple years ago, but that he was only 23 yrs old :O

Like Robinson though, I think no matter how poor they might play, these English imports will always have a place in the starting 11, just as a favour by Johnston. Robinson has improved since the start of season, but he's still not making that great an impact. Welsh is slow as sh*te, and always tries to take on defenders (and i know its because he comes from England and doesnt think much of the MLS opposition).. only he fails every time. I'd much rather see Canizalez starting over this bum. Whenever i see Boyens, its just a disaster waiting to happen, whenever he has possession he lacks confidence and looks shaky.

For me, Edu is one of our top players, he just needs more experience. He's lively on the ball, and is the best athlete on the team. I can see a future in Europe for this guy if he gains a bit more composure and patience on the ball.

Im not as in love with Dichio as the everybody else is, but he never seems to lose a 50/50 ball, and is pretty good at laying the ball off. Other then that, there's not much to his game. he is one dirty ass c*nt though, thats probably why Toronto loves him so much

Eskandarian definitely gets the award for the TFC player who puts in the most effort and seems to give a damn the most, im really glad he finally got on the board yesterday

O'Brien is still clearly injured, and although he has good vision, he cant run 10 metres to save his life.

Wynne and Goldthwaite were two great pickups. Goldthwaite gets exposed sometimes on defence though, and his yellow card yesterday was stupid.

Brennan has been kind of shaky on the ball, but his natural position is at full back.

Nagamura was a blah player and i didnt mind seeing him leaving (although somebody in return mightve been nice)

Buddle is lively, but very clumsy.

Canizalez has been a bright spot, and its a shame Welsh is preferred to him. One of the more skilled players on TFC.

Suttons been decent, i give him a 6.5/10. Definately improved since start of season, but compared to other MLS keepers im not totally convinced.

I think Johnston has been a subpar coach. Instead of making an offensive switch yesterday to try and draw even, he did nothing. Will play Robinson and more specifically Welsh this season from the start, no matter how poor they are.

and in response to shinji, i dont know how you can critisize Radzinski for snubbing the TFC. He's been a key player for Everton and Fulham the past 5 years or so, comin to the MLS now would be a huge step down. He's still got a couple more years of top flight soccer in him.

as for atmosphere at BMO field,,, ive been to the home opener, and yesterdays game. Im on the other side from the 'Ultras', although its looks pretty lively over there. Theres WAY too many fans in the stands who always yell out stupid comments, and it seems like 50% of the fans know nothing about soccer (at least in my end). Its still early, but I'd like if the fans were a bit louder during the game, and not just at goals or bad calls.

It was ace seeing the fans throwing **** and preventing Gomez from taking the corner yesterday (Y).

Some of the chants are terrible though.

"The T-O-R.. O-N-T... O O O O ... the TFC !!" :$

"This ref Sucks ! This ref Sucks!"

highlight of yesterday game in the stands was when the ref gave United a penalty (a 100% penalty), and the fans ignorantly thought it was criminal. So, a bunch of guys starting chanting "F*ck you ref! F*ck you ref!".. and then a bunch of 10 year old kids starting yelling it, and the mom went nuts on them and slapped a couple. that was A+

Overall though, I think its amazing that I finally have a hometown soccer team that I can follow, support and attend games. Although Im used to watching the finest soccer from europe, and the MLS is not anywhere near those levels, its still a pleasure. I just hope all the excitement for the TFC is still around 5 years from now, and this isnt just another case of the honey moon effect.

one thing i'll give the TFC an F- in is the jerseys. I think they look class, but the fact that you can only buy them with pressed cheap *ss looking badges is unforgivable. I'd gladly shell out $70 for one, but not until i see one with a sewn on crest. its also the one jersey I'd ever consider putting my own last name on the back, as theres nobody on the TFC id be willing to invest in.

they are trying to sell the 5,500 tickets because there are not that many people that will want to watch one friendly game for 300 dollars. Personally, i hope they realize their mistake of selling too many season tickets and will have more, cheaper tickets available in the future seasons.

the Toronto Sun is a right-wing rag, every page is filled with some kind of nonsense..

anyhow, here's the Benfica squad that's making the trip to North America. More than half the team seems to be either reserve or bench players, nice to see Miccoli and Rui Costa make the trip though. The defence looks to be close to full strength too.

GK: Moreira, Moretto.
Defenders: Pedro Correia, Anderson, Léo, Miguelito, Nelson, David Luiz e Miguel Vítor.

We just traded an unproven, injury-prone player for one of the top goal-scorers in the league. Cunningham scored more goals last year than Esky has in his career. The midfield isn't atrocious, but it does need more depth. You can't just bring in anyone, and I read that Cunnignham was having problems with his new manager, since they didn't get along well as teammates either. In this case, Mo got a good player who will help the team. I wouldn't be surprised to see him tinker some more and bring in some MF help.

Cunningham will bring the offence. We did need to tinker with the offence, since we did not have a bona fide goalscorer on the team. Also, Cunningham had 11 assist last year with Real Salt Lake! So you know he can set guys up too.

I'll miss Esky's hard work and his passion, but I will welcome Cunny's skill and goals.

my only guess is that Radzinski is coming in

Doesn't look like it for now. Radz is still looking to stay in Europe from what I've heard, and I think we are going to keep Cunningham. Anyway, give Cunningham some time. He's a proven MLS commodity who will do a good job in Toronto paired with Dichio.

I believe in MLS there is a deadline for when the rosters have to be set. But you make trades as you need to be under the salary cap. You can trade for money, but it is not a "transfer" per se.

Well I wouldnt say Esky is unproven, as he won the MLS Cup with DC, and was named player of the game with 2 goals. He's also only 24, whereas Cunningham is almost 31... although age isn't as big a factor in this league.

I think you misunderstood my take on this trade though, Im very excited to see this guy play and think he will be a great addition... I just wish Esky didnt have to be sacrificed, but oh well. From the videos ive seen on Youtube im excited, and stats dont lie.

Here's a quote from Cunningham before he got traded to RSL last year, he had this to say:

SIRK: Yeah, seven years in Columbus...now you're in Salt Lake.
CUNNY: I don't know why they send me to these white places. Probably because I like white people. S***, bro, some day the league will send me to the white people in Toronto, Canada, but that's okay as long as I get paid on the 1st and the 15th of the month

The problem is Esky was just settling in Toronto and guaranteed not to be traded in the first season. All this does is create an unsettled locker room and can damage morale. How can a team play together when players keep getting moved out? Toronto will be the last place any player would want to come to play for.

And there's speculation that Cunningham will be traded to LA for Nate Jaqua, a player we originally had but didn't want to play for Toronto. If that goes down then Mo should be fired.

I remember Esky got interviewed like 2 weeks ago and he was talking about how he's starting to settle into Toronto and just got his own place and was finally able to unpack and stop living out of a suitcase... :( feel bad for the guy, put in a lot of effort for the team. also had his own blog on the official team Website. sucks hard, but welcome Cunningham, that quote up there is ace... I should bring him to Rexdale, make him feel more at home, especially if he's part Indian/Paki/Sri Lankan etc. (H)

I sincerely doubt the validity of the Nate Jaqua rumour, but if it's true, Mo's an idiot.

Also remember that Esky was the one complaining about the artificial pitch, saying it was aggravating his injury etc.

I think there may have been more to this than we know, as far as dressing room stuff. Esky wasn't toeing the manager's line, so he's out. I mean, you can't undermine your manager like that. Mo was defending the pitch and the stadium (which is obviously not going to change!) and Esky was bashing it. So there could have been other issues there.

Also in the first little while, Mo has to make moves as he searches for a team that works. Esky's contribution wasn't very great in 7 matches.

Here's my post from the match thread.

Looks like Cunny's staying. Apparently the rumour about LA was that he was either going there OR coming here. Not that we were going to trade him to LA. (got that from the RPB board, from a guy who always gets good info on the team)

Cunny was at the game last night, sitting on the players' bench.

Apparently, he loved it!

OK so this Cunningham guy is supposed to be a pretty solid striker, and that's great and all, but we need to replace Welsh because he's utter ****.

What are you going to do for a keeper when Sutton is at the Gold Cup? That guy you have was on the bench in the USL, he's gonna get massacred.

Craig 'The Legend' Forrest will step in and play guest keeper in Sutton's absence. (6)

You got a nice team there. I'm looking forward to see them play, I haven't had the chance yet.

You know that Mtl > Tdot, though :p

Isn't he the Canada U-20 goalie? If it's him, I thought he's pretty decent. I saw him play at the game against Argentina and he had some good reflexes...not very good on goal kicks though

I was given negative rep for this? I'm sorry but Welsh does suck, you'd be stupid to think otherwise.

From who?

Anyway, Welsh has been hot and cold, but mostly cold.

We could do with an upgrade there.

The backup keeper is Srdjan Djekanovic. He seemed ok against Benfica in 26 minutes, but who knows how he'll do in a full match.

Well, apparently he has recovered from his ankle injury, so maybe we'll see a bit more of him soon.

no idea from who...doesn't say.

And I really don't think he's ever been hot...I mean, you could see him trying but most of the time he fails to make the cross and even if he does it's usually in the middle of nowhere.

Cunningham did well today, could've probably had a hat-trick with all the breakaways he had though, couldn't finish if his life depended on it (N) but his speed is exactly what we needed in attack, him and Dichio are gonna do well together. speaking of Dichio, did well to send in Cunningham a few times but didn't work as hard as we've seen from him before, but still had a good game other than a few bad touches and careless giveaways after holding up the ball.

PS: kill Welsh.

^ I think Dichio will be a little more in the background now...it seems like he's gonna hang a little further back and knock the balls down for Cunningham so he can tear through the defence.

And yes, please kill Welsh.

Watch them on the MLS website Rony.

The match was great. Great atmosphere again and hot as hell in the stadium.

Dichio and Cunningham are doing well together. I hope Cunny starts putting some of those chances away.

Marvel Wynne =

Welsh was crap again though, we gotta find a replacement for that guy.. he's got zero technical ability, so frustrating to watch..
