Milan clubs linked with Lampard

Inter and AC Milan have shown an interest in Frank Lampard after learning the England midfielder can leave Chelsea for £8m in the summer.

Lampard, 28, has yet to sign a new contract and could walk away from the Blues under a little-known Fifa rule.

AC Milan's general director Ariedo Braida told the Mail on Sunday: "Is this true? Lampard for £8m? If this is the case it is very interesting news."

The newspaper also claimed Inter coach Roberto Mancini is keen on Lampard.

The Fifa rule states that players who have served three years of a contract they signed before the age of 28 can buy themselves out - as long as they give 15 days' notice.

And Lampard's agent Steve Kutner recently said that talks between the player and Chelsea on extending the former West Ham star's career at Stamford Bridge are only at the preliminary stage.

That has already alerted the likes of Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid but the two big guns from Milan have now come into the equation.

Braida said: "Lampard is a very good player, one of the best around, and this situation is something I wasn't aware of at all."

Well, Madrid didn't exactly go broke. They don't have Chelsea money, but they aren't afraid to splash the cash.

Help?

Lampard leaving Chelsea? Won't happen anytime soon. Don't get your hopes up.

What I meant is I don't think Lampard would leave Chelsea because of financial reasons. Maybe for the challenge of playing on another league or something.

Andy Webster to Wigan. That's the rule.

For those who played FM 05 and below, it's like buying players under unprotected contracts. Was removed in FM06 and 7.

Yeah, it's not "little known" to the millions of FM players out there. Keep your players happy and keep renewing their contracts and it's not a problem.

What the hell does FM have anything to do with this?

And if Chelsea wants to sell Lampard becaue he's not gonna sign a contract than they're not gonna negotiate 30 million for him but they won't let him go for only 8 million either.
