I just finnished my first few full of games of FIFA 2001, and thought I should report that the game is pretty brilliant.
It has a lot of nice touches - passing with the outside of the foot, nice sideline runs with your wingbacks, player's ponytails bouncing around ... it has it all.
I though the camera view in the demo would annoy me, but it's not so bad. Some think you can't see enough of the field, but even Juan Veron can't see 360-degrees of field all the time, so I think it makes it more realistic from that persopective.
There a lot of variables around the net, the new keeper anmimations are cool, gameplay has improved and become more tactical, and the power bar is an amazing tool - you can even lob the ball to the flag and have a stiker chase it down.
I'm awed, and giving it a 9 out of 10.
Well done, EA.
