hey ..ice boy i bought the game but i cant find kits.big when i install the game. even in the warez version i have the file is there...i wanted to unpack all the kits and pack them ..so that i can use the patches and **** .......im so frustrated...i do the right thing and buy the game and it wont even show me the damn file........any help is appreciated....and i uninstalled it and deleted it from my registry....running windows 98 se....and also since i got home from buying the game ...my dsl wont connect me to the net....any other instances like this?

Did you try custom install and ticked everything? A full install would ensure you have every file in there.

You can always just copy kits.big from the CD and paste it into Data/players on your hard drive.

just gave up trying to update the kits for my players cos didn't know where to look for kits.big.

I updated with the pat_eplkits patch, but after getting "writing data" in the DOS-PROMPT, I get "unable to delete kits.big".

I thought, OK, and went on to delete the kits.big file from the data\players directory and started the game.
But there are still no sponsors' name on Arsenal's and Spurs' jerseys!

What did I do wrong here?

FYI, I'm running Win ME.

The reason is that 'kits.big' has it's file attributes set to 'read only'. So go to data/players right click 'kits.big' select 'properties' from the drop down menu and uncheck box next to 'read only'.

I was instructed to copy kits.big and it worked fine for me. if in doubt may I suggest the tutorial at fifamls.com.
