Well I have given it one week of solid gameplay and I have to admit this is the most disappointing FIFA game so far.

World Class level is impossible unless you play the long ball continually and hope you catch on of their defenders being slack and can race in on goal. It is impossible to pass you way up the pitch as the computer players have this amazing ability to close down your player even before you seem to have passed to him.

There is no flow to the game at all, everthing seems so stunted. Why can't you pass into space instead of ramming a pass at your teammates feet. How come when you chip pass to a team mate he always get challenged for the ball.

When a defender is coming back for the ball and being chased by an attacker there seems to be a pause before he gets control of the ball which enables the attacker to tackle him and score at will.

And last but not least when the hell did u see ANY player in ANY league do 3 360 spins on the trot to break 4 defenders and score???

Even ronaldo can only do one of these in ablue moon.

EA?? I know a lot of your 'customers' are 10 year old kids who love all the cool moves but can you please maybe make an alternate version for adults please?

come on EA this game is rubbish and you know it despite all the interviews with so called programmers who's favourite games are probably icehockey or baseball anyway. They do not seem to 'GET' football at all. go to a game in europe or south america and watch how the beautiful game is played properly.

BIG THUMBS DOWN FROM ME and next time I won't pay attention to game reviews as these people also get payed a lot of money to sell their magazines and online websites too so they are obviously not going to dis' new games from EA ('The Microsoft of the gaming World'). I will listen to the thousands of forum writers as so far 90% of what has been said about this game in the Forums is totall true and it is about time EA read these reviews rather than the ass-kissing reviews they get at games websites and Magazine.

well I stopped reading your boring post when you said that you can't pass into the space... you can, it's the Q key on the keyboard which doesn't pass directly to the feet of another player... it pases into the space... christ, guess you didn't play the game enough...

The Q key on the Key-board is for a through pass.......that is only really good when you are trying to play a striker through on goal. This doesnt exactly work well when trying to play a midfielder into space in the middle or right or left of midfield....

i agree with u - FIFA is currently a game for 10 year olds.

I guess our definitions of passing into a space differes... cause with Q key I've been able to create some nice 'triangles' going no matter where I am on the field...

I agree with you, too (and that is not the full list of screwed ups that you can add!) - FIFA is currently a game for 10 year olds ROBOTS!

Well from where I'm standing it's the 10 year olds giving not only lessons in all matters computer related, but also finding the time to kick everyone else's arse down at Time Zone. So does this mean you are giving Fifa 2001 a ringing endorsment?

yeah...I agree....we need to SPEAK OUT....post at the post where the president of this forum asked us to speak out about what we want in the next version of the Fifa series...it could be Road To World Cup 2002 or World Cup 2002....but whatever it is,it is going to be soon before they begin their development. So tell them that we want a long pass bar....to be simple...tell them we want gameplay like Konami and KCET'S ISS Pro Evolution!!!!

Look back..on history nothing much has changed
Thousand..of soldiers of all countries all marching the same...
Every nation's leader said that our side is right...
Every nation's leader said the time has come to fight..
But they use the common people to settle their scores...
It's time that we refuse to fight in any of their wars!!!

Totally agree, are we really supposed to say wow every time an overhead is scored?(1/2 dozen times a match)
I think even six yr olds would see the repetition in the gameplay.
FIFAs been made for the streetfighter/console crowd, which is ok but EA should stop raving on about FIFA being the best recreation of football.
Aaricia - sorry but a pass 1 or 2 metres in front of someone doesnt count as a pass into space.
Bring on ISS Evo 2.

I agree that we should and we may speak out about what we want in the next version of the Fifa series.
Personally I think EA would really listen to us, but only when Konami put ISS on PC.

No competition, no improvement.

The Q key can make wonderful passes into space anywhere not just up front,i've won Champions league games by as much as 4-0 on world class level, you just need to know how to go about playing against them, firstly:

you should download the camera adjuster that someone put on this site about a week ago, it is the tele cam but much further out than the game lets you adjust it too, and once you can see better it really helps.

secondly, play at the slowest game speed.

Use the move Manchester United use a lot, its a triangle move they use in midfield on the wings, where you use the Q button to 'give and go' you work it so you pull their defenders out and then pass into the space, remember if you pass back the defender follows the ball and then you can pass forward to the winger who then has lots of room to run down the wing and get the cross in.

I find most of my goals are scored from crosses to a header, get your wingers right down the flanks then get your crosses into the box over the goalie so he cant grab it, and almost ever time your striker will score with a header.

If you can get the tackle 'd' button and use the ctrl button to get at their strikers before they run away from you they really have no imagination to score other than on the break.

and finally, FIFA is a long season and 3 difficulty levels arent really the right balance to get a good close season, I find i have to play on pro level and then play so many world class games to make a real challenge of it, playing away games on world class for example makes it seem more real, as in real life away games are always harder.

Initally i thought this game was awful too, but after playing the demo a lot i got to see just how subtely improved it is, it could well be the best game yet, I never thought i'd say that 2 weeks ago when i first played the demo.

just a tip on the through pass button....first of all you guys need to get gravis gamepad pro if at all possible...its much harder on the keyboard.....now...if you got the ball in the middle of the field, and definately make sure your fastest players are wings-this helps soooooo much i cant tell you.....as i was saying if you got the ball in the middle of the field, attack the guy that is defending your wing and use the through ball when he leaves his man...then with his speed alone your wing can beat the defense and attack front post.....ok, maybe youll have to jump once or twice, but it works for me so give it a shot
