If you consider this football, you'd better pull your head out of your ass and take a wiff of what real football looks like. Why is it that EA chooses to ignore the important aspect of gameplay when creating football games, all they seem to be concerned with is graphics. It doesn't seem like they've learnt anything from Konami's golden child, ISS, in the past few years, their ignorance amazes me.

the demo noway reflects the game.If you wish to believe otherwise then so be it.EA did an awful job on the demo. The game aspects are fixable with options. But your in denial already mr.iss so be it....

the truth is..at least 4 me..that as a FIFA FAN that bought 5 or 6 of their games..i would PREFER & EXPECT THAT FIFA BECOMES THE PERFECT GAME..since they have alot of capabilities and....already have the package:leagues, addons, ppl making patchesit's on PC...
just fix gameplay(even to HALF THE ISS GAMPLAY QUALITY..I WOULD GET IT BECAUSE IT'S MORE COMPLETE)

but i am very sorry to say that i tried to force myself to like it again..but i couldn't
because it's agreat package w/ no content

the end

For a long time I did not play ISS and so my only chance was FIFA. I didn't really like it back then but since I know ISS2000...I put away Fifa 2001 after 3 (three) days.

So you have 1000 leagues and 100000 real (...) players, but the gameplay hurts.

I know that it is tough that on the best gaming platform (i.e. a high end PC) you cannot play the best soccer game (unless you don't emulate), but face it: FIFA 2001 sucks. What these guy said in this thread is 100% true. I went to war with FIFA99, edited skills like hell, practised and practised only to realize that good gameplay died with WC 98.

The big pitch is no deal since the AI is the same and tackling actually got worse. At time you have to play rugby to keep possesion.

EA **** YOU YOU ****HEADED DICKS.

I heard that IssPro on PSX is the best ISS game, but since I don't have a PSX nor the ISSPro CD I just stick to my ISS2K Rom which I love. Very good game.

NHL2001 is very nice too...

I doubt anybody got paid by KONAMI here. Its inevitable that ISS is used everytime because it sets the standard in FOOTBALL gaming. Mind you, most of those who played ISS, never looked back again, me included. I was a big fan of FIFA series until i came to know of a game called Winning Eleven (Japanese version of ISS). The gameplay is so realistic, it plays like football.

Yes, ISS's graphics is far off the level of FIFA series, but who cares about pretty graphics when gameplay sucks??

Whats the diffence between the demo and the full version. I have both and they are the ****ing same to me!
What game aspects are fixable?
- more intelligent OFF THE BALL movements from the players? (players move into position when not having the ball)
- more realistic goalkeeping? (superman goalies all the same in Fifa2001)
- better through pass? You call those passes sent few inches in front of you thru pass?
- better ball physics? balls in fifa2001 react like plastic instead of rubber.
- better freekicks? have u ever scored a goal by sending it over the wall of defence? Probably no?

Since today my hopes were still lasting... EA will at last make FIFA series more soccer like...Today i got he demo.....DARN!Ok there are some improvements(bigger field, the COOL power bar)but the whole concept remains ****ty.I really hope that the slower game speed option will make things better. If not I'm prompting all soccer fans that enjoy soccer and not team names and graphs to get a PSX and ISS Pro Evolution...I will get FIFA only to see if it is any better at all.If its not I'll only have it to take breaks between BG2(THE BEST CRPG EVER) and CM00/01(what can I say...).No we move to the next FIFA(as every year http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/frown.gif )

i bought fifa2001 after playing iss and i have to say i can't stop playing it with criticising it. i meant the fifa players don't even move, they make no runs, no movement what so ever. and what is with the camera angle? u have to use tower angle and the players look like bloody ants!!! it is damn boring!!! same thing all over again except better graphics!! i wish i can get a refund!!!

Yo, EA has really done it now. They have made a horrible football game. It is SOOOO unrealistic en numerous errors. Some of the unrealisms: You hear players shouting some bullsh*t, keepers dive even if the ball is 30 feet away, keepers do some acrobatics even olympic medallists dream of, the power bar is boring always the same shots. Now a huge error: Players RUN AWAY from the ball sometimes, that really is horrible. And when keepers have made a punch-the-ball-as-high-up-in-the-air save and the ball lands behind them they get up and just stare at the ball in amazement and then some other stupid player comes running in like a bull on viagra and scores an own goal. The game really stinks so EA: Shov it up your arses and next time take a look at ISS, where gameplay is realistic, and you know what EA? A game is only fun when gameplay is realistic and cool, THEN work on the graphics.
Signing off untill Fifa2002......
