Yay, so excited! Just ordered my tickets to go see Green Day later this year. It's not until October and the gig is not exactly in a Gilman Street punk rock accomodation (Ahoy, Rotterdam if anyone knows). But I'm still very excited to see these guys live, never have before... :D

Coming Sunday I'm going to see Dan Auerbach(one half of The Black Keys) perform here in Amsterdam. I'm also planning on seeing Mando Diao in November and Marcus Miller in December(both in Utrecht), but that's still far away.

With a rough estimate of an average ticket prices of £20, and expenses (in terms of travel, food, beer) of £20. We're talking at least £800 :|

Alamaailman Vasarat, hmm... The name is Finnish, but I haven't heard of them (transaltes to Underworld's hammers (H)). What are they like?

Aren't Oasis and Coldplay playing there too?

And by the way, my uncle got me a ticket to the Göteborg U2 concert (1st of August, I think) for my birthday. :)

Just got back from MTV Winter where my friend opened the show and then two bands I never heard of played before the Arctic Monkeys came out. I really enjoyed it. Got there a bit too early, but the music was good, and all the anglo-saxons in Valencia came to this thing, and I ******* love blue-eyed blondes. **** bars, concerts are the best places to pick chicks up. I got 5 numbers without even asking for them.

But music-wise, yes, good show. The only good thing to happen here since I moved.

You must look like a hipster or a scenester or something. Concerts are only good for niche looking people who fit the image of the band on stage. Not great for normies. At least in my experience, but it's been a long ass time since I've really gone to a show, and when I did I wasn't exactly looking for girls in a sweaty moshpit. So maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm seeing Spoon coming friday.

Long term plan is to go see Mos Def somewhere in April and also going to the Lowlands Festival in August, where blink-182 will most likely perform.

Hmm, tickets are already available, but the official site that sells them is in Dutch(http://www.ticketmaster.nl/html/evinfo.htmI?CNTX=255484&l=NL&C=). So I don't know if that helps you anything.

Saw Fat Freddy's Drop at Lowlands this year. Pretty awesome. (H)

Oh and I recommend going to The Black Keys if you can. Really enjoyed the show they played a few months back here in Amsterdam. Dan Auerbach is one hell of a guitarist (and singer) to see live.

Last gig was back in August - The Brink (check out www.thebrinkband.co.uk), before that was Kiss at LG Arena Birmingham (Paul did his best at trying to pronounce Burmingum, but wasn't 100% successful)

Got tickets for Iron Maiden at the NIA Birmingham for next year!

Man, I'm so excited. The Peppers come to Holland in October. No Frusciante, but still there's Flea! This is going to be so awesome!

Jaboldinho
17-06-2011, 11:33:AM
Who's gonna be the replacing guitarist?

So jealous. Always wanted to see them live, haven't been to Finland too much. :/ Even without John, you can watch Flea and Chad jam. That alone should be fun.

Juventino
17-06-2011, 02:14:PM
Awesome! It would be the third time I'll see them live, I saw 'em twice during the Stadium Arcadium tour. It'll be weird without Frusciante, but I'm reeeally curious about their new album. Can't wait to hear the new music and how Josh Klinghoffer (their new guitarist) fits in with Flea and Chad.

Jabo, Klinghoffer is a frequent collaborator of Frusciante for years now and he performed with a lot of other bands mostly in Los Angeles. He also toured with the Peppers during Stadium Arcadium playing additional guitar and other instruments. It'll be impossible to fill Frusciante's shoes, but he's very talented.

Zlatan
18-06-2011, 04:23:PM
Yeah, it be very interesting to see what Josh Klinghoffer can bring to the RHCP. It won't be easy for him to fill in the shoes of the best guitarist alive, but still I think he's a very talented musician. Let's wait and see.

Saw Kiss at Birmingham NEC last year, supported by Taking Dawn. Paul and Gene may be getting on, but they are still capable of putting on a show.

Iron Maiden last month (Birmingham NIA) supported by Airbourne. Bloody marvellous, both of them!

Going to see Bellowhead later this Autumn in Cambridge. Should be a good evening, reminiscent of Lindisfarne.

And the curve-ball? Les Miserables at the Queens Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, London, two months ago. Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean and Matt Lucas (yes, THAT Matt Lucas) as the inn-keeper.
