Zlatan 18-05-2009, 10:14:AM Coming Sunday I'm going to see Dan Auerbach(one half of The Black Keys) perform here in Amsterdam. Daz 18-05-2009, 12:25:PM http://static1.orkut.com/img/smiley/i_surprise.gif And what is the expense of all those shows/gigs? With a rough estimate of an average ticket prices of £20, and expenses (in terms of travel, food, beer) of £20. We're talking at least £800 :| Ubik Valis 18-05-2009, 08:59:PM Names I look forward to on this years Roskilde: Faith No More Nine Inch Nails Slipknot Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds Down Eagles of Death Metal Malk De Koijn The Mars Volta Volbeat Alamaailman Vasarat Neurosis ...and hopefully I'll find a few other interesting names. Jaboldinho 19-05-2009, 08:36:AM Alamaailman Vasarat, hmm... The name is Finnish, but I haven't heard of them (transaltes to Underworld's hammers (H)). What are they like? Aren't Oasis and Coldplay playing there too? And by the way, my uncle got me a ticket to the Göteborg U2 concert (1st of August, I think) for my birthday. :) Ubik Valis 19-05-2009, 12:38:PM Alamaailman Vasarat, hmm... The name is Finnish, but I haven't heard of them (transaltes to Underworld's hammers (H)). What are they like? Aren't Oasis and Coldplay playing there too? They are Finnish, and they play what is called "klezmer punk": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alamaailman_Vasarat And Oasis and Coldplay are playing as well... MaSsiVe 27-05-2009, 01:35:AM They are Finnish, and they play what is called "klezmer punk": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alamaailman_Vasarat And Oasis and Coldplay are playing as well... I count on you to use the blow torch wisely. Alamaailman Vasarat :coffe-anim: Zlatan 07-08-2009, 09:30:AM Wow I just found out Slightly Stoopid is playing here in Amsterdam in November. I'm so excited for that, they're one of my favourite bands and amazing live. :icon_spin: http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/7205/sscrowdsurving.jpg Zlatan 24-08-2009, 09:50:AM Damn, the autumn becomes only better and better. 2 Arctic Monkeys shows just announced in Amsterdam in November! I was pretty bummed I had to miss them when they played Lowlands(just yesterday) cause it had sold out. But this will make all up for it. Zlatan 30-11-2009, 11:11:PM Wow I just found out Slightly Stoopid is playing here in Amsterdam in November. High 5, bro! (H) Lean 06-01-2010, 12:17:AM This year i've watched Kraftwerk and Radiohead in May, and Prodigy in October. All very good, but Radiohead stands out as the greatest. goal_machine84 06-01-2010, 01:48:AM Saw Tool and Metallica last year :bob: Azrael 14-02-2010, 03:18:AM Just got back from MTV Winter where my friend opened the show and then two bands I never heard of played before the Arctic Monkeys came out. I really enjoyed it. Got there a bit too early, but the music was good, and all the anglo-saxons in Valencia came to this thing, and I ******* love blue-eyed blondes. **** bars, concerts are the best places to pick chicks up. I got 5 numbers without even asking for them. But music-wise, yes, good show. The only good thing to happen here since I moved. Concerts are only good for niche looking people who fit the image of the band on stage. Not great for normies. At least in my experience, but it's been a long ass time since I've really gone to a show, and when I did I wasn't exactly looking for girls in a sweaty moshpit. So maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Zlatan 14-02-2010, 10:02:AM I'm seeing Spoon coming friday. Long term plan is to go see Mos Def somewhere in April and also going to the Lowlands Festival in August, where blink-182 will most likely perform. So maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. No, I'm just damn sexeh. Jaboldinho 14-02-2010, 05:14:PM Performed my first concert as a solo pianist with an orchestra. Interesting experience. Was just one song though, there were many piano students playing. Zlatan 23-02-2010, 11:33:AM I'm seeing Spoon coming friday. Long term plan is to go see Mos Def somewhere in April and also going to the Lowlands Festival in August, where blink-182 will most likely perform. Oh wait, also forgot to add NOFX playing here in Amsterdam in June. Very stoked for that too. INFESTA 27-02-2010, 02:10:AM Oh wait, also forgot to add NOFX playing here in Amsterdam in June. Very stoked for that too. Dude. I'll be in Amsterdam this June visiting my best friend. Can you warn me as soon as tickets go on sale? Zlatan 27-02-2010, 11:28:AM Hmm, tickets are already available, but the official site that sells them is in Dutch(http://www.ticketmaster.nl/html/evinfo.htmI?CNTX=255484&l=NL&C=). So I don't know if that helps you anything. Ubik Valis 07-03-2010, 12:14:PM Not concerts I've been to yet, but definitely planning on it for this year's Roskilde: Muse Motorhead Porcupine Tree Alice In Chains (AND there are rumours of Soundgarden coming as well!!! (H)) Them Crooked Vultures Dizzy Mizz Lizzy Valient Thorr NOFX Killswitch Engage \m/ $teauA 09-03-2010, 04:56:AM I saw Jay-Z in Atlanta last week. Amazing show. 1966+2006 31-05-2010, 03:13:PM If I don't need to resit any Exams, I'm going to this festival: http://hurricane.de/_images/lineups/100526.gif And I'm definitely going to Melt! Festival in July. Looking forward to seeing Delphic, Foals, Friendly Fires, Kele and Jónsi. Here's a really interesting Video about Jónsi's live performances if anyone's interested: http://vimeo.com/9480602 yoyo913 31-05-2010, 03:48:PM wD54codf5M4 Zlatan 31-05-2010, 04:38:PM It's The Black Keys in less than a month for me. And then Lowlands in August with blink-182! Counting down the days until it's summertime. (H) 1966+2006 01-06-2010, 11:06:PM Wow Lowlands, Nice! MaSsiVe 04-09-2010, 10:26:PM watched Fat Freddy's Drop in Lisbon this past Thursday, hadn't enjoyed a concert this much in ages. For real, it was abolutely mesmerizing... here's a vid with the ending of the show, last song was the fabulous Shiverman: X-JHr1ONKdQ they got started with my favourite though, The Raft: VVQzzBzYUuA **** yeah (H) Seriously considering to go watch The Black Keys in London early in November...it's a just a matter of getting my work schedule to allow it. Should be ******* awesome too. Zlatan 04-09-2010, 10:28:PM (Y) Saw Fat Freddy's Drop at Lowlands this year. Pretty awesome. (H) Oh and I recommend going to The Black Keys if you can. Really enjoyed the show they played a few months back here in Amsterdam. Dan Auerbach is one hell of a guitarist (and singer) to see live. MaSsiVe 04-09-2010, 10:34:PM I might be lucky enough to get trip+ticket for €75...would be sweet (H) either way it shouldn't take them long to visit Portugal I hope...their legion of fans here gets bigger by the day. nentautako 15-10-2010, 03:53:AM adam lambert show in malaysia Nimreitz 16-10-2010, 06:55:AM LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! Hopefully you jammed out with your clam out alongside 2000 flaming homos. Stevie B 29-11-2010, 02:15:PM Last gig was back in August - The Brink (check out www.thebrinkband.co.uk), before that was Kiss at LG Arena Birmingham (Paul did his best at trying to pronounce Burmingum, but wasn't 100% successful) Got tickets for Iron Maiden at the NIA Birmingham for next year! Zlatan 17-06-2011, 11:00:AM Man, I'm so excited. The Peppers come to Holland in October. No Frusciante, but still there's Flea! This is going to be so awesome! Jaboldinho 17-06-2011, 11:33:AM Who's gonna be the replacing guitarist? So jealous. Always wanted to see them live, haven't been to Finland too much. :/ Even without John, you can watch Flea and Chad jam. That alone should be fun. Juventino 17-06-2011, 02:14:PM Awesome! It would be the third time I'll see them live, I saw 'em twice during the Stadium Arcadium tour. It'll be weird without Frusciante, but I'm reeeally curious about their new album. Can't wait to hear the new music and how Josh Klinghoffer (their new guitarist) fits in with Flea and Chad. Jabo, Klinghoffer is a frequent collaborator of Frusciante for years now and he performed with a lot of other bands mostly in Los Angeles. He also toured with the Peppers during Stadium Arcadium playing additional guitar and other instruments. It'll be impossible to fill Frusciante's shoes, but he's very talented. Zlatan 18-06-2011, 04:23:PM Yeah, it be very interesting to see what Josh Klinghoffer can bring to the RHCP. It won't be easy for him to fill in the shoes of the best guitarist alive, but still I think he's a very talented musician. Let's wait and see. Stevie B 19-08-2011, 03:42:PM Saw Kiss at Birmingham NEC last year, supported by Taking Dawn. Paul and Gene may be getting on, but they are still capable of putting on a show. Iron Maiden last month (Birmingham NIA) supported by Airbourne. Bloody marvellous, both of them! Going to see Bellowhead later this Autumn in Cambridge. Should be a good evening, reminiscent of Lindisfarne. And the curve-ball? Les Miserables at the Queens Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, London, two months ago. Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean and Matt Lucas (yes, THAT Matt Lucas) as the inn-keeper. Nimreitz 28-08-2011, 07:28:AM So posh. My memory of you Stevie is as a big Black Sabbath fan. Look forward to your response in 2013. |
