i got pissed off when the rolling stones came here for just one concert at fúcking copacabana beach. (N)
and i'm a bit frustrated because most of the jazz artists from other countries who came here play fusion, jazz-rock or something. (N)

1966+2006 25-02-2007, 11:21:AM we certainly did....... :(
Nimreitz 25-02-2007, 12:15:PM Kris Kross (H)
That's not a joke.
311, Green Day (twice.... before they dressed like emos), Alkaline Trio, Less than Jake (numerous times), Goldfinger (numerous times), Anti-Flag, Sugarcult, Sum 41, Mest, Bad Religion, New Found Glory, Ringo Starr, Spacehog (haha!)
At a yearly Milwaukee festival that ran in the mid-late 90s...
Beck, No Doubt, Violent Femmes, The Gufs, (just about every alternative band you can think of basically. I can't remember many right now)
At the Vans Warped Tour over two years....
Rancid, NOFX, Yellowcard, Dropkick Murphys, The Suicide Machines (AWESOME), and some of the bands up in the first paragraph I saw here as well.
EDIT: I also saw One Be Lo along with about 125 people at my college's Student Union.
INFESTA 25-02-2007, 05:29:PM This is going to be a long list.
First concert I've ever been to was by The Cult in 1994. Since then I've been to more than 100 gigs, and I'm not counting my own band's efforts or concerts by garage bands.
Some of them I remember because they were posted here already:
The Offspring
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Green Day
Oasis
Radiohead
QOTSA (2x)
Tool
Muse
Smashing Pumpkins (2x)
R.E.M.

No Myslovitz? (H)
night 25-02-2007, 05:53:PM No Myslovitz? (H)

Emmer, have you been to see rappa? my girl (who's from sp) introduced me to them about a year ago, bought all their albums right away. Was supposed to go see them when I was over there in oct. but it didn't work out. Who knows maybe in the future.
1966+2006 25-02-2007, 07:24:PM whats the worst warm up band you've seen? or the best?
the worst for me was a band called "Send More Paramedics" who played before the offspring. we were in cologne and they came on stage sayin:
"hello bonn(!!!!!!!!), we are send more paramedics, and we are zombies!"
haha, the entire crowd was shellshocked. they eventually got booed off stage (H)
best warm up band was navel before wolfmother, and alexisonfire before billy talent
Ubik Valis 25-02-2007, 09:39:PM Volbeat, Roger Waters and Tool (Roskilde 2006)

Ubik Valis 25-02-2007, 11:07:PM I don't understand SG's obsession with Tool. :S
Err......I've seen like 2-3 other posters on SG (other than me) talk about Tool. I'd hardly call it an "SG obsession". :|
But even if there is, it would be because they're some of the most talented (rock) musicians on this planet.
yoyo913 26-02-2007, 12:08:AM Whats with SG's obsession with MUSE is the real question.
emmer 26-02-2007, 06:38:PM BAD RELIGION???????????? you bastard :(
they were opening for the offspring. the vandals played before bad religion, but i didn't see them.
Emmer, which band that you've seen live was the best?
tough question. maybe iggy pop. or neil young. or pixies, or elvis costello, or r.e.m..
Why feel embarrassed? They're a great band. (Y)
aye, i don't feel really embarrassed, i actually find them one of the greatest hard rock bands ever. it's just that they're far from being my favourite music artist nowadays. and it seems they can't record a great album anymore (such as the rolling stones). even the live ones have been poor.
Emmer, have you been to see rappa? my girl (who's from sp) introduced me to them about a year ago, bought all their albums right away. Was supposed to go see them when I was over there in oct. but it didn't work out. Who knows maybe in the future.
i'm not a big fan of o rappa, but i like some songs, especially from "lado b lado a", which has some good lyrics (don't know if your girl's translated them for you, heheh). have you watched the "minha alma (a paz que eu não quero)" video? it was directed by kátia lung and paulo lins -- respectively co-director and writer of "city of god". fans of the film may like the video (try to find it on youtube).
i've never seen them live, and probably never will -- i kind of lost interest on the band after ex-drummer and lyricist marcelo yuka left the band.
so you know this awful city where i live in, huh? how was your stay here, tell me more about it!
INFESTA 26-02-2007, 10:06:PM they were opening for the offspring. the vandals played before bad religion, but i didn't see them.

Aweful city? dude, I'd rate SP as one of the best cities I've ever been to. Obviously it's very different from the European cities I'm used to, very vibrant and the people are great, very friendly (at least the places I've been to). Didn't really go around seeing the typical tourist attractions since I'm not really into that. Instead I just kind did the stuff regular Paulistanos would do I guess...shopping, chilling, drinking and picked up quite a bit of portuguese (obviously she tought me stuff too). It's amazing how quickly you pick things up when you're there :d
Her parents have a house at the beach near Santos so I stayed there too. Great city too with the beach and all that.
Gotta say I really loved SP, especially the general vibe, I could definitely live there. In fact I'm looking into doing some sort of internship at USP...I'll see how that goes.

Gotta say I really loved SP, especially the general vibe, I could definitely live there. In fact I'm looking into doing some sort of internship at USP...I'll see how that goes.
I don't know, man. It seems for me what you like is actually the Brazilian vibe, I mean, it wouldn't be something from São Paulo or the paulistanos, but a characteristic of the Brazilian people.
I'd say São Paulo can be great for holiday or something, but to live (and consequently having to work) here is a pain in the ass. I hope you get this thing at USP so you can confirm me that (or not), hehehe.
But yeah, I admit the city has some great attributes.
By the way, I do some studies at USP, and I work close to the university as well (actually it's a place inside the campus), so lemme know if you get the internship. :taz: :monkey: (Y)
Filipower 05-03-2007, 10:56:PM aaww man i remember this Blind Zero concert i went in Caminha, that was the crappiest sh*t i've ever seen...like the fact that their music kind of sucks wasn't enough, nobody in the audience was giving a crap about them..so they played like 4 songs and just got the hell out...legend, legend.

The thing I like about SP is the fact it has such a diverse culture. There's portuguese, italian influences so (for me) it feels like a little country within Brazil. I'm probably preaching to the choir here but I really love the lifestyle.
Obviously it might be different if I lived there but while I was there I didn't really do any tourist stuff, just me and my girl hanging out doing regular stuff.
The funny thing it's that it's so different from Europe in many but at the same time a lot feels fimiliar, I like that...that, and the motels :bouncy:
I'll keep you posted on how the internship plans go.

The two that stick out though even though neither are one of my favourite bands are Sigur Ros at Massey Hall in Toronto and Franz Ferdinand at Detroit. I remember when Franz Ferdinand came out with like 5 drummers to play the last song (Outsiders) at the end of the concert.
INFESTA 20-03-2007, 02:48:AM I just remembered I went to a Green Day gig 6 years ago. (C)

I'm waiting for the day that one of those German bands like Juli or Wir Sind Helden or Sportfreunde Stiller come to North America. They seem great live.
1966+2006 06-04-2007, 11:45:AM die ärzte or farin urlaub solo are pretty good too. actually the best that germany have to offer to be honest

NottsSupporter 06-04-2007, 04:15:PM Saw Dylan in Gothenburg last weekend, really enjoyed it. Was much much better than when I saw him in England, even though his voice isn't exactly brilliant these days he delivered som fine vocal performances on most songs.
Highlights were an amazing version of It ain't me babe, a rocking tangled up in blue and all 4 songs he performed of the new album.
PhiLLer 06-04-2007, 08:09:PM Got some pretty good stuff coming up here.

treble41 09-04-2007, 01:38:AM Here's the rumoured leak to the Glastonbury festival for this year. I have to say that I'm dissapointed with the list if it is the real thing. FFC2004 13-04-2007, 12:24:AM I just went to see Muse again in San Francisco... i was front row on matt's side... it was amazing!
Tizmo 13-04-2007, 12:34:AM Argh!!! I so want to see Muse!!
Well, I have not been to too many concerts, but the first concert I ever went to was Paul McCartney in Zürich and that was amazing!!!!!! The second concert I went to was Coldplay, also in Zürich and that was amazing as well. The line-array systems were really small, but wow were they powerful!!
1966+2006 13-04-2007, 12:09:PM cool, i wanna see muse. im seein them at rock am ring this summer :)
treble41 13-04-2007, 05:06:PM I'm trying to get tickets to go see Keane in Detroit but I couldn't with the Snow Patrol concert.
1966+2006 19-04-2007, 10:46:PM goin to give it a name festival tomorrow. rly pissed off cos 4 bands arent coming and all the times have been shortened and changed. anyway we'll see what it'll be like. at least i'm gonna see Jimmy Eat World, Senses Fail and Lagwagon.
1966+2006 22-04-2007, 10:38:AM went to a festival on friday. headliners jimmy eat world(pretty good) and lagwagon who were disappointing .
the rest of the line up was pretty good too with senses fail, mindless self indulgence, voodoo glow skulls putting together a good show
I saw Good Charlotte live in KL Malaysia 2 days back. Was actually an MTV show.
1966+2006 23-04-2007, 08:20:PM good charlotte are at rock am ring too. wasnt rly plannin on goin to see em though...

SHEESH! I haven't seen Bonnaroo's artist list yet, but I ******* doubt that they'll top what Coachella's got on the plate this year, man.
I think I'd swallow my own throat yoghurt (twice) to be able to attend Coachella this Friday, man.
They better cap the entire sets of those bands I've circled or else......
I've only recently unshackled myself of my musical bigotry towards this genre of music and given my ears the freedom to listen to techno/electronic/trance (btw wtf is the difference) without feeling like a two bit faggot and I've become totally infatuated with Tiesto, and PVD to a lesser extent. I here that their concerts are just ******* live.....some of the finest entertainment and atmosphere yer gonna find anywhere.
btw, LOL@ those ******* upstart ripoff artists Silversun Pickups mainstaging over Sonic Youth.....what a ******* travesty.
Let's hope that it's just a clerical error, man.

Nimreitz 19-05-2007, 11:33:AM http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/1631/sappyfu1.jpg
This may have already occurred, but GO TO TIESTO!! There will be hundreds of drop dead gorgeous, e-tarded girls rolling and looking to ****. Just don't stop them from dancing if they want to dance.
Nimreitz 19-05-2007, 11:35:AM saw reel big fish yesterday. best concert ive been to so far.
i crowdsurfed five times :D
Really?!?! There was a rumor a few years ago that they stopped playing and yelled at crowds for moshing. They even have a song "Thank you for not Moshing" that makes fun of the whole thing and ironically would be a phenomenal song to form a circle pit to. I'm surprised you got to crowdsurf, which is definitely one of the best things to do in the world. I love kicking people in the head.
1966+2006 19-05-2007, 01:20:PM nah, they might have done but it was prob meant ironically since moshing and crowdsurfing just belong to concerts. and reel big fish generally make loads of jokes like that at their concerts.
the only disappointing thing was that there were no circle pits...
1966+2006 28-05-2007, 03:31:PM saw maximo park a few nights ago. they were amazing
Ubik Valis 07-06-2007, 12:57:PM Saw Megadeth the other night, and it was okay. The ticket was 400,- DKK, so the fact that they just about played an hour and a half sucks.
1966+2006 07-06-2007, 03:17:PM rock am ring was amazing. beatsteaks, ärzte, wolfmother, enter shikari and the fratellis were really good, but most of the acts were brilliant. i saw 32 bands in 3 days :) . goin back next year
Ubik Valis 18-06-2007, 03:00:AM Saw Pink Floyd Project (Danish Pink Floyd cover band) the other night, and it was a very good concert. Great sound, good musicians, awesome selection of tracks, drummer ending the show with a double-bass rhythm :rockman:, and the backup singers were pretty bitchin' too.
Well worth the money, and I came in for free. (H)
hanek45 18-06-2007, 03:38:AM Concerts I've been to/Bands I've seen live

Nimreitz 18-06-2007, 12:17:PM Going to the Warped Tour this year so I can see One Be Lo. Hahaha. Maybe I'll catch Bad Religion when I'm there.
1966+2006 18-06-2007, 04:01:PM i rly wanna see Bad Religion. legends...
saw Muse at Wembley Stadium last night... as awesome as expected. :D:D:D :rockman:
Though the highlight must've been the crazy drunk dude heckling My Chemical Romance, then a load of the crowd (including me :D) booing the stewards when they escorted him away.
Seriously, the lead of MCR sounds like he's permanently on helium. His little speech about self-harming and depression was rather amusing too.
Zlatan 18-06-2007, 06:24:PM I'm going to Chin Up Chin Up's performance here in Amsterdam on the 17th September.
I'm really looking forward to it, I've never seen them live and they are one of my favourite bands.
1966+2006 18-06-2007, 07:43:PM yeah i saw muse and MCR a few weeks ago at rock am ring. muse was pretty good, MCR were surprisingly good too.
Nimreitz 18-06-2007, 09:00:PM i rly wanna see Bad Religion. legends...
I saw them before with Less than Jake. They were okay. I never really got into them.
MaSsiVe 18-06-2007, 09:06:PM Bad Religion had one awesome album in 1996's The Gray Race and went downhill from then on.
MCR were surprisingly good too.
Can't stand the fuc'kers.
1966+2006 18-06-2007, 09:59:PM neither can i normally. but i thought the performance wasnt bad, they played before the white stripes who were f*ckin awful.
Funky--K 18-06-2007, 11:02:PM Saw the Beastie Boys last sunday, hell of a show (H) the funk, the rock, the rap, the whole explosive combo, hell of a show, hell of a show!
those 3 guys have such unique stage presence, it's out of this world
and Mix Master Mike is the **** (H)
fender 19-06-2007, 11:55:AM Going to see Jet in a few hours time.
1966+2006 23-06-2007, 01:30:PM going to "Rheinkultur" on the 7th of july. the headliner is gonna be announced on the 25th of june. it's a free festival with stages for hip-hop, rock and so on.
the main events up until now are donots, madsen, calexico, fire in the attic.
it's not great but not bad for free.
Seán D 27-06-2007, 02:15:AM Just back from Aerosmith. Great gig. Better than expected and the set list was great.
Chris Cornell was ******* immense aswell with his new band. Brilliant gig.
1966+2006 27-06-2007, 04:27:PM loads of really good concerts coming up but i have no idea which ones to go to... i could go to:
beatsteaks
Maxïmo Park
enter shikari
sondaschule
and then 3 festivals. it's gonna be tough to decide.
Seán D 27-06-2007, 08:35:PM Oxegen has Queens of the Stone Age and Muse at the same time, not pleased :(
Funky--K 27-06-2007, 09:04:PM Off to see Metallica + Mastodon + Satriani tomorrow :D

Seán D 27-06-2007, 09:18:PM Off to see Metallica + Mastodon + Satriani tomorrow :D

Let me know how you get on at Metallica (H)
1966+2006 27-06-2007, 10:50:PM just wanted to know what kind of concerttype you are? do you stand at the back and enjoy the music or do you mosh and pogo and crowdsurf up front?
treble41 27-06-2007, 11:52:PM No one's been to Glastonbury this year? I'd be the stand back and watch the pogo or the sit at home and watch it on TV sort.
Seán D 28-06-2007, 12:02:AM just wanted to know what kind of concerttype you are? do you stand at the back and enjoy the music or do you mosh and pogo and crowdsurf up front?
As close as physically possible.
Funky--K 28-06-2007, 12:23:AM :( i'm a sucker for the pit! gotta ****in move, let it all out, man!
treble41 28-06-2007, 05:50:AM This is awesome. People are now takin tripods to concerts when they sit at front rows so when they take videos and put them up on youtube, the quality's great and there isn't any pogoing up and down.
1966+2006 28-06-2007, 01:25:PM i pogo the hell out of anyone who's near enough haha. crowdsurfing and pogo make concerts much more fun for me.
Seán D 30-06-2007, 10:13:PM Went to The Who last night and they put on one hell of a show. Oddly didn't play Magic Bus but wat can you do.
Biffy Clyro rocked aswell. They were excellent and I'd recommend them to everyone.
monkeyhappy 30-06-2007, 11:08:PM maximo park were good

Seán D 04-07-2007, 06:55:PM went to Ozzy Osbourne last night. played an amazing set including War Pigs (H)
Zach Wylde played 2 gigs in a row, support with Black Label Society and guitar for Ozzy. Immense.
1966+2006 04-07-2007, 07:11:PM Free festival on Saturday. It's gonna be raining...
I also got tickets to see Fall Out Boy with The Academy is... and Enter Shikari.
Yossarian 04-07-2007, 07:15:PM ^^ nice, brah, NICE!
I caught a replay of the Diana (I realize that this doesn't count), concert, and that ******* geezer Rod Stewart totally owned it. He was in mid 70s vintage form with his set, man. And, and he had this one sax-broad in his band...wearin this ridiculously tiny pair of leather shorts..........boy was she a hard-on and a half, man.
They even let her take a solo, man. But I was concentrating more on her strong, shapely legs than her saxing, man.
oh btw, Stewart's got a pretty good leg on 'em, man. He was kicking soccer balls all over the place, and even at one point displayed some bit of skill with the ball.
definitely exonerates 'em of this American Song Book garbage that he's been hawking as of late......you sometimes forget that he was once a badass frontman....right up there with Plant, Jagger and Daltrey.

1966+2006 04-07-2007, 07:26:PM My Dad's going to Cardiff to the Millenium Stadium on Saturday to see Rod Stewart.
Yossarian 04-07-2007, 07:37:PM hopefully the poor bastard won't be forced to suffer the agony of having to sit through that american song book boo**** the entire concert, man.
I ain't down with that ****, man.
concert / Sunday July 1st.
James Dio, Heaven & Hell, Iced Earth, Dream Theater.
And no it doesnt get any better than that (well.. maybe if earth had still matt on vocals but hey!..)
MaSsiVe 04-07-2007, 10:52:PM hopefully the poor bastard won't be forced to suffer the agony of having to sit through that american song book boo**** the entire concert, man.
I ain't down with that ****, man.
as long as Rod doesn't decide to get an haircut on stage, everything will be fine.
http://www.celebrityimpersonators.com/cp/rodstewart.jpg
scary but legendary.
Ubik Valis 06-07-2007, 02:26:PM Hey Funky, how was the sound at Mastodon? I just saw them live last night at Roskilde and the sound was just too messy and loud and sh!t. I'm not talking about the band's actual performance, 'cause they kicked ass, but it really helped knowing the band a lot, and even that wasn't enough sometimes. At certain parts I could barely remember what song they were playing because of the sound. :(
fender 06-07-2007, 07:01:PM ^^ nice, brah, NICE!
oh btw, Stewart's got a pretty good leg on 'em, man. He was kicking soccer balls all over the place, and even at one point displayed some bit of skill with the ball.
Yeah he looked pretty good with the ball, he's a pimp getting a way younger chick like Penny Lancaster and having another child at his age.
Biffy Clyro rocked aswell. They were excellent and I'd recommend them to everyone.
yea they supported Muse when i saw them at Wembley. By far the best support act there.
Yossarian 07-07-2007, 12:59:PM hey, that Live Earth thing is today......didn't even ******* know up until now, man.
Any SGers attending this shindig? I mean, it's being held in 7-8 different countries, right? There's gotta be atleast one of us SGers reppin'.
So far, the London concert looks to be the best out of 'em all (so long as RHCP doesn't play the singles from their latest)
I don't know how im gonna be able to stomach all these irritating and patronizing envio messages that they're interjecting with every five seconds, man. But for some good music, I think that I'll bear it
I've already discovered a beautiful broad with an even more beautiful voice watching this.....Miss Higgins is her name I think...GOD I WANNA MAKE SWEET, SWEET LOVE TO HER!!!!
Yossarian 07-07-2007, 01:08:PM Biffy Clyro rocked aswell. They were excellent and I'd recommend them to everyone.
Wow....nice! Thnx for the headsup, brah. I just read Daz's reply to this post of yours and decided to check 'em out on a whim, and so far, from the random tracks of theirs that I've DL'ed, they're solid.
I'm surprised that they're not bigger and more known.....well, atleast in North America.
leungtl 07-07-2007, 08:39:PM I've already discovered a beautiful broad with an even more beautiful voice watching this.....Miss Higgins is her name I think...GOD I WANNA MAKE SWEET, SWEET LOVE TO HER!!!!
Yeah she's reasonably popular down here... One of the few artists who actually sounds exactly the same live as on the albums.

I don't know their songs, but I know they played two of the songs from Kusturica's film "Underground", and it was a great party! Awesome performance, made me proud of being Balkanese. (Y)
You know they're from Romania, right? (H)
they're gypsyes :(

They're from the Rep. of Moldova actually, different country. :p
I take it back, i misread the Moldovian flag as Romania (N)
Still, Moldova, Romania, whatever, near enough (H)
*yup, still thinking for a come-back*

"Your mum" tends to work.
Nah, only Dave seems to pull those off.

Screw you Tom, O-Zone is great.
I'll be seeing the Rolling Stones next week in Bucharest, my first big concert I might add. :$
1966+2006 15-07-2007, 05:53:PM Getting tickets to see Beatsteaks tomorrow. Great band, brilliant live performances too.
The Rheinkultur festival was really good too, the only thing that was annoying was that crowdsurfing was banned and people were too stupid to start a circle pit :nape: But the walls of death were really good, I was in about 15 of them :p
MaSsiVe 15-07-2007, 07:27:PM gonna see Beatsteaks dudes? obviously +repped (Y)
only got to know their music a few months ago but loved it immediately.
1966+2006 15-07-2007, 10:39:PM Yeah, and last time they put on one hell of a show.
The crowd is usually quite good too. I remember reading that at one of their concerts the crowd managed to push over one of those crowdbarriers(can't remember the proper term for them at the moment...).
paoplayer13 16-07-2007, 05:36:PM i love concerts. some i have been 2 in the last year-the strokes, the killers, white stripes, the roots, live aid, stephen marley, phil lesh...so far this summer i have tickets 4 pete yorn and farm aid
1966+2006 16-07-2007, 07:01:PM What did you think of The White Stripes? I thought they were pretty boring when I saw them.
just came back from the Rolling Stones in Bucharest, ******* awesome!! The Charlatans played in the opening, made a good impression since it's their first time in Romania, but the Stones were amazing, jumping around and all that, made the crowd go crazy, about 70.000 people. plus near the end all 4 of them started singing on a platform which was slowly moving to the opposite side of the stadium, above the crowd.
also, Mick Jagger learnt a ****load of romanian, said about 10 sentences like 'I'm feeling great', 'Are you having fun?', and all that. and when he started introducing his back-up band or whatever its called, and presented a female member of it (can't remember her name), he said "great dress, cheap shoes though" on a perfect romanian. :funny:
:rockman::rockman:
1966+2006 18-07-2007, 11:27:PM Sounds great, never thought they could still do it.

Ubik Valis 19-07-2007, 12:07:AM Axl Rose (Guns 'n' Roses frontman) + G'n'R gig last year at Roskilde + band show up about an hour late + almost half the show consists of sh!tty jams performed while waiting for Axl to change his wardrobe like 5-6 times = My hint.
not living under a rock (unfortunetly), I know who Axl is, just didn't get it. thank you
Isn't Theo overtly polite :D
isn't he? :4 twee hee hee
Seán D 19-07-2007, 12:19:AM Axl Rose (Guns 'n' Roses frontman) + G'n'R gig last year at Roskilde + band show up about an hour late + almost half the show consists of sh!tty jams performed while waiting for Axl to change his wardrobe like 5-6 times = My hint.
He was bang on time for us - mind you the costume changes were annoying.
I didn't pay money to hear the guitarist to an instrumental of a Christina Aguilera song (N):-puke:
Voltaic Borusse 19-07-2007, 06:20:AM Anyone like Informatik? I missed them 2 weeks ago.
1966+2006 27-07-2007, 12:37:AM Bought my Beatsteaks ticket today. But I have to wait till November till I see 'em. I'm also probably gonna go to Taste of Chaos festival which I missed last year. It's a small one day event with five bands. Rise Against, The Used, Escape The Fate, Gallows and Aiden are playing.
rony31 27-07-2007, 01:30:AM seriously considering going to the Cutting Edge Music Festival next weekend, 4-day event mainstaged by Alexisonfire. and it's legal BYOB on the camp sites (H) strongly considering it, just need people to go with now
1966+2006 27-07-2007, 01:55:AM Alexisonfire are pretty good live. They opened for Billy Talent with Enter Shikari.
rony31 27-07-2007, 02:04:AM they've been my favourite band for over 4 years now (before they got all popular with teenage girls and **** (N)) and I've never seen them live... travesty I tell you. well this is my best chance, I'm going. $88 for a 4-day pass? sign me up
1966+2006 27-07-2007, 01:33:PM Teenies annoy me at concerts too. Up until the part where the music starts and you can just pogo them away. It's always hilarious at concerts when they start off up front and then they run to the back 10 minutes after the concert starts.
Either that or you have to help the unconscious ones crowdsurf to the front :D .
Kimikal™ 05-08-2007, 12:20:PM Well, I was last night at Uriah Heep and they were awesome. The day of our city, BTW. :D Easy Livin' was they're best in my opinion, followed by July Morning.
rony31 07-08-2007, 12:21:AM Moneen, Protest the Hero & Alexisonfire were ******* amazing, me and my friend caused so much **** in the pits it was unreal :D and I could've started a business for helping people get up to crowdsurf, seemed like everyone pushed through crowds to get to me and one other guy to throw them up. then during Happiness by the Kilowatt I got up there... got launched like nothing for a pretty big guy, un-*******-real, best long weekend ever (Y)
$teauA 07-08-2007, 03:09:AM I went to a Dropkick Murphys show last night here in Charlotte. It was f*cking great (Y)
Fotbalguy 10-08-2007, 10:38:PM Just saw one of DMB's best concerts!!!
Seán D 10-08-2007, 11:42:PM I went to a Dropkick Murphys show last night here in Charlotte. It was f*cking great (Y)
Definately a band I need to check out.
paoplayer13 14-08-2007, 10:20:PM i love concerts-i've been to alot. here are the concerts i've been to this summer so far...white stripes, pete yorn, beastie boys, stephen marley
jjhennigan 15-08-2007, 07:46:PM i've seen Metallica, papa roach, deftones, green day, red hot chilli peppers
Funky--K 17-08-2007, 03:43:PM Ok, so here's my take on the concerts I've been to this summer:
---
SuperBock SuperRock Festival:
Mastodon: Awesome. Pure metal supreme. Great show, the drummer is ****in umbelievable, and "Blood And Thunder" live can actually kill you.
Joe Satriani: Pretty entertaining, the man's brilliant and the show itself is much more fun than I imagined.
Metallica: Ok, so here's the deal. I allways liked Metallica. Never quite my favourite band, but I allways had great expectations of seeing them in concert. It kinda failed, man! I mean, sure it was huge, the setlist quite good (most recent song was Memory Remains), and all, but the fire in the band is nearly gone.
(Y)(Y) James - the guy is a machine, best rythim guitar in metal (sorry Mr. Ian), and his vocals are not as bad as some say
(Y) Trujillo - Bass beast, brilliant, of the 4 by far the one with more feeling onstage
(N) Kirk - Messed up a few solos, messed up big time "One"s intro, his guitar got off tone several times
(N)(N) Lars - Wastes all his energy in the first songs. How can a guy with 20 years in a legendary metal band, mess up the tempo during the Master of Puppets chorus?
---
Sudoeste 07
(nearly didn't watch any concert outside the portuguese bands stage)
James: Pretty cool concert, Booth can still sing, all the classics, crowd was great.
Babylon Circus: I hadn't heard of them before the concert and it was kickass, speedy ska with a whole circus vibe to it, about 10 guys onstage, pretty fun.
---
Paredes de Coura
Babyshambles: Watched a total of 3 minutes, boring as hell.
New York Dolls: Simply awesome! I never thought these guys could still move the way they do! The crowd didn't know the songs, not even the classics like Looking for a Kiss, or Trash, and everyone danced, moved, there was even a small circle pit. Pure rock n roll.
Sonic Youth: Expected a little bit more noise and experimentalism, it was a pretty standard concert, but quite nice. The whole fan legion was there and they made the concert quite a interesting experience.
and last but not least, the greatest show you can watch this summer:
GOGOL BORDELLO
I really can't describe how ****in out of this world this is. These guys can save the world. They can stop hunger in Africa, man. What a ****in show. If your familiar with the albums "Gipsy Punks" and the new "Super Taranta", this will be the show you'll tell your grandkids, and make fun of them for not being born at the time...
10Ruud 19-08-2007, 09:08:PM Man dude...you see a ****load of concerts!
1966+2006 20-08-2007, 03:04:PM I saw Fall Out Boy with The Academy is... and Cobra Starship. Brilliant gig.
And surprisingly there were walls of death and circle pits (Y) .
1966+2006 29-08-2007, 02:09:PM Paramore tonight.
EDIT: Concert has been cancelled, f*ck.
10Ruud 30-08-2007, 08:00:PM I want to see Van Halen...somewhere...the shows sell out too fast though...I need them to announce a Miami date....closest place to me.
Jaboldinho 31-08-2007, 02:24:PM I saw The Police in Globen, Stockholm on wednesday. Great concert, Andy Summers is 64 year old, but plays amazingly well. Swedish press said everything negative about it, like there was too many solos... CAN THERE BE TOO MANY F*CKING SOLOS? Great concert!
EDIT: I liked the warmp-up band pretty much also, great style and sounded a lot like The Police so I thought it was the right choice for the concert. The band was called Fiction Plane. Aftertwards I found out that the leadsinger/bassist was Sting's son. No wonder he sounded like Sting.
1966+2006 02-09-2007, 08:12:PM My prayers have been answered, The Hives are coming to Cologne.

Here's a clip of the warmup band. This is my favorite song of what they played.
gHPSp614csY
BayernBoz 06-09-2007, 04:42:AM Halid Beslic, Haris Dzinovic, Hari Mata Hari in Los Angeles.
1966+2006 26-09-2007, 01:05:PM Got my Hives ticket and will be buying my Mindless Self Indulgence ticket today.
Arctic Monkeys are coming to Cologne as well, tickets from the 29th of September. Hopefully, I'll be quick enough.
Ubik Valis 07-10-2007, 02:41:PM Friday: By Night
Brutal Swedish metal. (H)
Saturday: Killswitch Engage
Simply awesome. Shame they only played one hour, but the tickets were cheap, and they kicked major ass. Especially the lead-guitarist Adam. Legend.
1966+2006 17-10-2007, 02:13:PM Saw Enter Shikari again last night. Amazing show. I was in a human pyramid and loads of walls and circle pits. I also just noticed how fun violent dancing can be.
They're brilliant entertainers and I'd really recommend seeing them even if you don't like their CD's because the live show really is the best I've ever seen.
Ubik Valis 17-10-2007, 10:34:PM What kind of music do they play?
Anyways. I'm considering going to a Gogol Bordello concert next month...I'm sure MaSsiVe's gonna encourage me. (H)
1966+2006 18-10-2007, 05:33:PM It's Post-Hardcore with Trance.
At some points they just play Trance and then just start dancing on stage and then they stagedive(notice the stage was about 3 metres away from the crowd so it was a fair jump).
MaSsiVe 18-10-2007, 06:06:PM just do it Dragão, dudes are a fücking riot on stage!
party on during the whole thing and considering your roots I reckon you're gonna feel at home with their style (H)
Na-bra-do-vitch-kaaaaaaaaaaa! (H)
Ubik Valis 18-10-2007, 09:21:PM Just read that it's sold out.
Jebem im mater. :(
1966+2006 18-10-2007, 10:53:PM Anyone ever heard of Mindless Self Indulgence? :D
I'm seeing them in a week.
10Ruud 19-10-2007, 05:56:AM Killswitch Engage...awesome band....I'd love to see them.
Funky--K 30-10-2007, 07:58:PM What kind of music do they play?
Anyways. I'm considering going to a Gogol Bordello concert next month...I'm sure MaSsiVe's gonna encourage me. (H)
Gogol's was the best show I saw all year (as I discribed on the previous page!)
Thursday here in Porto: ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY! Stoner ****in metal burning the house down, can't wait
1966+2006 30-10-2007, 10:40:PM Saw MSI on Friday. Decent gig, though they only played an hour.
The warm up band completely sucked, except that there was a rather attractive female singer performing topless, which made up a lot.
But I caught a stick, a bass plek and got an autograph from the lead singer.
So not a bad night, really.
PSVFOREVER 30-10-2007, 11:17:PM Well, going to see Babyshambles at Paradiso in january , seeing concerts is much more afordable now I live in Amsterdam. :p Now let's hope Pete Doherty actually turns up. Preferably sober.
Maybe that's a bit too much to ask from him?
Zlatan 30-10-2007, 11:28:PM Lol, I'm probably going to that same concert aswell with some friends. :D
1966+2006 19-11-2007, 09:30:PM Haha, they might have to cancel the tour since he might be in jail :D
I'm going to see Beatsteaks on Friday...
1966+2006 12-12-2007, 12:55:PM Saw Beatsteaks, The Hives and Arctic Monkeys in 10 days, brilliant. Had a 10 day break and now I'm seeing Maroon 5 with Dashboard Confessional tomorrow and Silverstein on Sunday.
1966+2006 15-12-2007, 02:30:PM Maroon 5 were a lot more rockier than I thought they would be, great show (Y) .
Booked tickets too see Santana :D:D:D It's not until June but i'm already so hyped :D
1966+2006 18-12-2007, 03:23:PM Great Silverstein concert on Sunday, except that there was some prick in the moshpit doing a f*ckin' roundhouse kick.
They were playing with blessthefall who also put in quite an impressive show.
Seeing Fire In The Attic on Friday which will be my 6th concert in under
4 weeks (Y)
1966+2006 11-03-2008, 11:49:PM Gonna see Dropkick Murphys soon. Really looking forward to it.
bybuti 12-03-2008, 12:20:AM I was in 50 Cent's concert in Pristina (17th of December 2007) :)

That'all for me
seeing Jonathan Coulton (from Code Monkey fame) tomorrow (Y)
1966+2006 23-03-2008, 02:38:PM I hated Reverend and the Makers, they were the warm up act for Arctic Monkeys.
In 4 days I'll be going to Dropkick Murphys. Will be drinking Guiness and Kilkenny before to get things started :D .
fender 31-03-2008, 07:23:PM Saw Kt Tunstall, pleasantly surprised. Really good live.
Zlatan 01-04-2008, 03:02:PM I'm going to see Millencolin on 18 april here in Amsterdam. :)
1966+2006 27-04-2008, 10:36:PM Bloody hell, Millencolin have been my favourite band for years.
I'm seeing them in June.
Plectrum 29-04-2008, 01:14:PM Best gig I've ever been to was Foo Fighters at the Shepherd's Bush Empire three or four years ago. I came away with tinnitus that lasted the best part of a month but bloody hell it was worth it!
Stevie B 08-05-2008, 02:29:PM The last one was back in January. Anti-Flag, supported by Brassphemy and The King Blues. Support bands were good. I've never seen the lead played on a ukelele since I watched an old George Formby film.
Anti-Flag have got a good message to get across. Pity you couldn't hear it in the lyrics.
One of the best small concerts was about three years ago, organised by Don Airey of Deep Purple. Basically a big jam session with his brother (plays for Tom Jones), a friend from Jamiroquai who lives nearby, Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden from the old Whitesnake, Graham Bonnett from Rainbow and a few others. Held in a marquee on the recreation ground in the village where Don lives.
1966+2006 09-05-2008, 11:41:PM I'll be seeing Anti-Flag in June and July. Looking forward to it (Y)
Ubik Valis 09-05-2008, 11:48:PM Checking out the long list of bands/artists coming to Roskilde this year, and here's a small pick:
Judas Priest
Radiohead
Jay-Z
Jose Gonzales
Neil Young
Slayer
The Cult

Should be fun. (H)
1966+2006 10-05-2008, 11:04:AM Going to Hurricane Festival this year :) .

RuiCosta_10 09-06-2008, 02:11:AM Been to Rock in Rio in Lisbon last Friday:
Orishas, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse, The Offspring and Linkin Park.
Kaiser Chiefs were absolutely fantastic, and Muse, well, they are the world's greatest band live!
Gz0Z6pyUuts - New Born
RJEihY1CwNY - Time is Running Out
ec4KB1XcXQU - Plug in Baby
xQCgbWL46s0 - Knights of Cydonia
tnV7AbCtWng - Stockholm Syndrome
FN8TTbwQnBs - Starlight
Johnny_Big 09-06-2008, 02:23:AM I was there too. Amazing stuff. Muse just blew my mind, even though the concert 2 years ago at Campo Pequeno was better.
The rest of the bands were ok too. But Kaiser Chiefs totally surprised me!
RuiCosta_10 09-06-2008, 02:38:AM I was there too. Amazing stuff. Muse just blew my mind, even though the concert 2 years ago at Campo Pequeno was better.
The rest of the bands were ok too. But Kaiser Chiefs totally surprised me!
This was my first Muse concert, i'll never forgive myself for not going to Campo Pequeno, but rumours say they might be back in the beginning of the next year with the new album! Wow!
Jaboldinho 09-06-2008, 09:55:AM Gosh, now I'm so jealous. $
I guess I got to settle to buying Muse's album with a live DVD. (H)
Oh, and those other bands don't sound too bad, either.
Just got back from my second Idlewild gig. Oh man they're awesome. Started off with about 5 acoustic tracks that were just fantastic (Y)(Y)
Roddy Woomble = awesomeness
$teauA 04-07-2008, 07:06:AM I saw Eagles in Atlanta this past May and I'm seeing Tom Petty in Raleigh next Saturday.
1966+2006 09-07-2008, 03:30:PM Death Cab For Cutie today.
I've been to three festivals the last three weekends.
It's been great (Y) .
Also a really good live band: The Pigeon Detectives.
Anyone know 'em?
Stereophonics on 13th! Woo happy!
OldSnakeWontDie 07-08-2008, 02:16:AM WILD CHILD tomorrow. BEST DOORS COVER BAND. EVER!!!!!!!

Funky--K 28-08-2008, 10:36:PM great list man. :mrt1:
seen Deftones at Super Bock Super Rock?
yea
they kinda sucked, Moreno was tottaly out of shape, and his voice was terrible. he sang "Passenger" by himself and was really disapointing
yeah I know, Chino sucked in most of the 2006 performances, except the Pinkpop and Rock AM Ring maybe (he did pretty good when they came to Romania too :$). though I would have personally came to Portugal and murdered you if you had seen them at the 2001 SBSR where they were awesome and when Chino did this:
nwrsYhlZwFI
please watch the whole vid, for my personal pleasure (H).
