Hey Mate, I am also a Newcastle worshiper, I can tell you off hand that FIFA 2001 is a must buy.

They even got our new NTL sponsers on our kit. The newcastle bade is also on the shorts and socks. The only disappointing thing is the shorts for both. They are not even adidas striped! The home are plain black, and the away have a white strip on it.

The Away kit does not even have the sky blue in it, instead it is all white...

But, it is still amazing. Here is my recommended starting lineup for Newcastle:
4-4-2 but playing with different ppl in differnet areas:

Given
Domi
Hughes
Goma
Acuna (I made him, recently transfered)
Dyer
Bassedas
Cordone
Lua Lua (also created him)
Shearer
Cort

That is the lineup I play with, I see Bassedas and Cordone as the Attacking mid, and Lua Lua and Dyer as the wingmen, Acuna a wing back/back and the same with Domi.

Another thing you can do is play Rob Lee instead of Domi, Lee can play anything mate!

By the way, that is also my ideal starting 11 for Newcastle, what's yers mate?

And the same for a FIFA game...

Not sure if you saw my Ideal team I posted to your other message so i'll do it again...

GK - Given
DR - Barton
DC - Dabizas
DC - Hughes
DL - Domi
MR - Solano
MC - Dyer
MC - Lee
ML - Speed
RF - Shearer
LF - Cort

This is my ideal line-up... Even though I am liking what I see of BASSEDAS and LUA LUA, I am sticking with the strongest line-up I reckon that is possible with our current squad...

Good to see the Toon Army has so many Melbournians!!
Yeah, FIFA 2001 is worth getting. Despite what these others go on about in this forum. I don't care what they say, i find it enjoyable, and that's all that matters. It's about 400000000000 times better than FIFA 2000, so go for it.
Plus, your ideal lineup is the exact starting lineup for the Toon in F2k1.

Have you seen any toon shirts in Melbourne, i can't find any.... I may order one online.
Also, Newcastle United FC sent me their merchandise catalogue..... how do they know who i am? kinda scary.......

(Head on over to the FIFA 2000 forum and post your argument in the 'Newcaslte vs Ipswich' post. It's about Shearer...)

Howay the lads!

Aussie Geordie, did you ever fill out any survey or global fan supporters club info on nufc.co.uk? If so that's wher it came from. I bought my home kit from there about 3 yrs ago and still get catalogues!

I recommend nufc.com as the best place to buy a Toon kit online - no postage cost, and it's quick postage time, you can even have your jersey customised.

Cheers, QLD Toon Fanatic!
