View Full Version : Height of Arrogancy by Mourinho.....

Jose Mourinho has taken a dig at Arsene Wenger's youth policy as well as suggesting Manchester United have benefited from 'undeserved' successes this year.
Speaking in the aftermath of Chelsea's Carling Cup final victory over Arsenal, Mourinho praised Wenger's young side but was quick to point out that they were yet to win anything.
"Arsenal have great boys," said Mourinho.
"But I wouldn't be sad if a club gives me three, four, five years and tells me, 'You don't need to win. You can lose Premiership after Premiership, and you have three, four, five seasons to build'. I wouldn't be sad.
"Since I arrived, they have won nothing. Since we are at Chelsea, they lost Premierships, they lost the Charity Shield to us, they lost the Carling Cup to us. I don't think they are winning a lot.
"Absolutely brilliant young boys, manager top, team with a great future. But they didn't win."
He also felt that title rivals Manchester United had benefited from some good fortune this year, and that Cristiano Ronaldo was a diver.
"This is a season in which United have had no injuries and every player is fine to play. They go to the Champions League and have a disallowed goal for the opponent [Lille] and their goal is 'that' goal.
"They go to Fulham and it looks like they deserve to lose and they win. They play at Tottenham, it's 0-0 and Cristiano dives, they get a penalty and win 4-0. It looks like everything is on their side, but that's football.
"I didn't see the Fulham game to be fair, but the information I have is that it was completely undeserved. It's a game they could have lost and in the end they win it."

This guy has LOST it...and it seems his a** is burning due to some reason...
he knows Chelsea dont have a goo youth and future...they only have money to bide with it..
being a great manager sometimes his comments are pathetic and disgusting
well..about United being LUCKY>..
well...that c*nt doesnt know how LUCKy chelsea wer against...
Everton(2-3),Wigan(2-3),Reading(2-2), newcastle(0-1).
chelsea have played matches that they never deserved to gain points off..but they did..yet no -one complaints..cause a win is a win...
about the Giggs goal..by the true LAWS...it was a goal....nough said...
Mourinho's arrogance is the factor that makes him a c*nt...it overshadows his technical brilliance at times.
rltvs 27-02-2007, 09:21:AM ok..first of all
and their goal is 'that' goal.
how the hell on earth a reporter can put the ' (i dunno what it is called:$ ) symbol to make it sounds that mourinho is 'bashing' the goal..if u have a video that shows mourinho with 'two finger signals'..ok than i can understand.
second. yup..just like what i said. ( i wonder..how mourinho have the same feelings like me..haha) arsenal still havent won anything yet from their so called 'golden kids'. if they can prove it then it is a diff. case
third. his comment abt manchester united's luck. what are u angry of? that's just his opinion..let say you sit from an examination..& u scored 90%. then i said//oh...you are so lucky for reading the chapter that came out..then..will you will be angry with me? i know it hurts..but 90% is 90% right?
btw: i dont say that chelsea has never got any luck on their favour this season.but dude..the way we played against everton, & wigan...that's diff.
if you go out to attack and got a goal..then you deserved it but if you just cannot push the team for the whole half..then suddenly here they come a single attack & score..that is luck. (of course there are also blablabla factors)
that is my opinion :) * sorry for my english
Thelonious 27-02-2007, 09:31:AM nothing new
dirion 27-02-2007, 09:35:AM I have never liked Mourinho, and certainly I don't like him any better after this. He IS a brilliant coach, but when he does stuff like this he shows that he is a real A**!

very true mate....
but its always been that after mourinho's won sumthing or conquered..he goes out and acts smart and opens his gutter.
yes..man united were lucky to win v fulham due to ronaldo's individual brilliance...but knowing that his own team has been lucky in many games..he shouldnt make himself look like a c*nt.
to top it...he claims ronaldo to be a diver....ya he does dive sometimes...
but frankly my friend..does chelsea have less divers...???
it's better if a farmer ploughs his own field rather than looking over the other farmers field
ShearerM4 27-02-2007, 10:34:AM Well... to be fair he is right in what he is saying.
If he still had not won a EPL title yet, he probably would be gone already.
PS: arrogance

yup..i agree with that. but you cant control person's attitude..maybe that's the way how he talks..i cant say that he is not arrogance..he is..
but the fact that he still keep on winning cups will always make you cannot say that he doesnot deserve to talk much..
just live with it(H)
Scotto 27-02-2007, 12:08:PM what a wanker!
Man utd have had no injuries etc!, that aint luck that just proves that Man U players are fitter than Chelsea players :)
And claiming Ronaldo is a diver. Yeh fair enough i agree totally with that but thats just ****in rude sayin that about our players when you have Chelsea players who are just as bad, maybe not so much this season but generallly are just as bad.
And i would love to see him take control of the young Arsenal team and see if he can do any better!
ShearerM4 27-02-2007, 12:17:PM And i would love to see him take control of the young Arsenal team and see if he can do any better!

Mourinho
Since I arrived, they have won nothing. Since we are at Chelsea, they lost Premierships, they lost the Charity Shield to us, they lost the Carling Cup to us. I don't think they are winning a lot.
He says Wenger is a great manager, but if he says that (above) he obviously thinks he cud do better
dipset 27-02-2007, 12:27:PM hahah This is why i love the guy, and this is why he keeps the prem more intense , Mourinho talks his mind. much respect, you have to admit verbal exchanges make the game more interesting , it brings more hype and can give alot to the prem, Mourinhi is sik lol jokkaaa.
ShearerM4 27-02-2007, 12:33:PM ^ So... how far through the sig rules have you managed to read so far?
Bobby 27-02-2007, 03:16:PM I love how he fields Robben, Drogba and the like and has the gall to talk about divers. This is a man who used to field a cheating GOALKEEPER!
Also, someone remind me why Bobo Balde was sent off in the Porto v Celtic UEFA cup final.
Vinnie Jones 27-02-2007, 04:26:PM Show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser. Vince Lombardi, the fêted Green Bay Packers coach, once said this, which guarantees that it has been adopted by thousands of wannabes from here to Wisconsin. But that does not make it right.
The Australia cricket team were first to the bar to buy beers for Andrew Flintoff and his England teammates in 2005, but that did not make them losers.
They proved as much this winter, when they snatched back the Ashes in style.
Sir Alex Ferguson can be an unbearable, bullying winner but also a surprisingly generous loser. The Manchester United manager ordered his players to form a guard of honour for Chelsea two seasons ago, but that did not make him soft. As his squad clapped on the champions, Ferguson was plotting José Mourinho’s downfall.
You do not have to go down kicking and screaming. Sometimes you can accept that you have lost to the better man. But it is probably too late to expect that of Arsenal. And, at the age of 57, it is unrealistic to expect it of Arsène Wenger, who has so much to teach his collection of talented, cosmopolitan teenagers, apart from the ability to lose with grace.
Even great men have their weaknesses and that is the most obvious failing of Old Vinegar Face, as Ferguson has been known to call him. It filters down to his players because, just as dogs look like their masters, so teams resemble their managers over time.
Arsenal’s occasional, but unmistakable outbursts of brattishness are caused by the knowledge that they play more stylish, adventurous football than 90 per cent of their opponents, but win only 60 per cent of those matches. Even after a decade, they remain outraged by a world that can deny them the victories they think should be theirs by right.
Thierry Henry carries that air of entitlement and it has also taken hold in Francesc Fàbregas, the leader of the next generation. He even picked a fight with Mark Hughes last week over Blackburn Rovers’ refusal to allow Arsenal to play as they like.
The Spaniard’s pluck seemed admirable at the time and you would never want Wenger to compromise his unique and courageous vision of the game. But Arsenal can hardly be surprised when, having rushed to claim the moral high ground, others are so keen to knock them off it when they drop their standards.
And replays yesterday proved that Arsenal were to blame for the brawling in the Carling Cup final. They deserve to have three players banned and that is ignoring Fàbregas’s provocative intervention, while John Obi Mikel’s actions warranted only a yellow card.
It was a recidivist performance, fuelled by Arsenal’s frustration that they cannot beat Mourinho’s team. In six attempts, Wenger has drawn three times and lost three times. Further tantrums can be expected. It is in their nature, just as it is to play with rare style.
Those methods have not brought Wenger as many trophies as he would like, expect or feels he deserves, but he can console himself that Lombardi was also wrong when he talked about winning being everything. Mourinho, too, when he repeated that mantra on Sunday night.
The Holland team of the 1970s did not win a trophy, nor the Brazil side of 1982, yet both will be remembered as great teams. “Beauty comes first. Victory is second. What matters is joy,” Socrates, the former Brazil captain, said. And when they are not losing disgracefully, Arsenal provide more than their share of that.

Vinnie Jones 27-02-2007, 04:37:PM Nah i just wanted to be cool like Bobby and post random stuff in threads. And yeah i doubt anyone is going to read that spot on article.

ok. i bet u didnt know who is paulo ferreira, carvalho, deco ,maniche, postiga before euro 2004 or ch.league 2004.
so am I.
but where are they now? ok ..they all are not so young at that time. but the way he developed those players..& managed to beat big clubs at ch.league is surely a big achievement esp. when Porto managed to beat Man U(H)
enough said.
in chelsea, he can still develope 2 or 3 young players but the thing is, the expectation from the chelsea's board & fans are totally diff. than at porto.so that's why he cant make much mistakes including to field young bloods..
diarra is a good example. ok, he is not from chelsea's academy..but by the time he came at chelsea, he was 19 or 20 i think..and now..mourinho managed to train him till he can play for two positions, instead of just def. mid & he played for those two positions equally good. of course he is not the big diamond yet but he is developing..& stop talking rubbish " ah..mourinho is very good when it comes to steal the young player from other's club"..
he actually came to chelsea for trial & impressed the special one.
so get what i mean?
ShearerM4 27-02-2007, 04:52:PM Read it. And you can't argue with it. The self righteousness in Arsenal's attitude is unbearable at times.
And Fabregas is a snidy bastard. Hope the FA throw the book at him.
Bobby 27-02-2007, 05:05:PM Fabregas did nothing wrong. If he was English and Lampard was Spanish you'd be praising him for "standing up to them soft foreign boys".
ShearerM4 27-02-2007, 05:11:PM he should have been sent off. But I'm not even talking about the final. For the last two years he's acted like a petulant snidy kid.
Bobby 27-02-2007, 05:14:PM His attitude is better than Rooney's, Terry's, Lampard's, ect. Basically anyone in the England squad except for Lennon and Crouch for heaven's sake.

When Cesc:
- Glasses a guy in a bar fight (Terry)
- Calls black players monkeys (You know who)
- Cheats on his pregnant wife with an underage girl (Hmmm)
- Makes fun of a terrorist attack (Terry, Lampard, Jody Morris)
- Puts a cigar out in a team mate's eye (Joey Barton)
- Tries to bite his captain's finger off (Barton)
- Cheats on his girlfriend with a Granny (Rooney)
- Drags a lamp post under his car for three miles while drunk (Pennant)
- Loans a car to someone with a driving ban (Ashley Cole)
- Forgets to take a piss test (Rio)
Come back to me.
ShearerM4 27-02-2007, 05:40:PM as a football fan, what I look at is what happens on the pitch. Two footed lunges, disrespecting most senior pros, petulance, crying like a baby when anyone dares get close to him...
Funny how VanPersie possesses so many of the same characteristics... hardly a coincidence though I'm sure.
untouchable 27-02-2007, 06:58:PM moaninho at his finest. He caused Chelsea's downfall. All they had to do this season was play the same 433 that's served them so well the last 2 seasons. No, he wants to play that crap "attacking square" or whatever. If we win the title this season he's a straight BUM, because there's NO excuse with players like Ballack, Shevchenko, Makelele, Essien, Robben etc in your team. NONE.
Zaptech 27-02-2007, 08:20:PM You would think he's a shi*te too if he was United manager. I guess he's one of the main reasons that everybody (except Chelsea fans) hates Chelsea. And in the past he's been saying a lot of sh*t about that he couldn't understand that they were so hated. But when you say something like that you WANT everybody to hate you... And about United being lucky against Fulham. I guess that's right but look at some of Chelsea's matches this season. In many of their games they have scored in the last couple of minutes. And why even discuss the Giggs goal? Even UEFA has confirmed that it was a goal by the rules. And the fact that Chelsea needed a central back for many of their games is just pathetic with their transfer budget in the last couple of seasons.
VanTheMan 27-02-2007, 09:01:PM Zaptech right on target!!!!

hahahaha:$ makelele? essien? robben?
dude..i think those three players are far better than richardson...:mexican:
robben: simply amazing these season despite his injury prone-ness. maybe his performance is not like when the first season he came to the bridge..but he is coming back.
essien: why mour paid 20+ m for this gangster(H) ? he is instrumental in the middle of the park. a good attacking & defensive minded midfielder. hard tackler.manage to read the ball as makelele....this season is brilliant for him esp. before christmas when he dont have to play as a defender. & he is a versatile player that mourinho can put him in any position on the field & he have no problem to adapt with the new position that he has to play for.
makelele. ok.. if i am an evil, i would say that he is far better than the slow michael carrick..but i'm not like that. :mexican:
simple say, real madrid looks like a decent team these days because they dont have makelele who can hold the ball & tackle the ball before the attacking team try to do the attacking. * actually i donno how to describe this man but he is seriously in a different class..

INFESTA 02-03-2007, 11:01:AM I love Mourinho for many reasons and this is one of them. He can absolutely drive the whole opposition insane: fans, press, coaches, players.
In reality, he's the type of guy you all secretly wished he was your team's manager. Why? Because if being on the receiving end of his diatribes definitely sucks, having a guy like Mourinho tormenting your foes absolutely kicks ass.
Nobody fuels a rivalry like he does. Play it big to win big.
VanTheMan 02-03-2007, 06:16:PM http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=451743&CPID=8&clid=1&lid=&title=Fergie:+Button+it+Jose&channel=&
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson feels Jose Mourinho would be better off keeping his mouth shut.
The experienced Scottish tactician was unhappy with the Chelsea boss's comments earlier in the week in which he intimated The Red Devils were getting the bulk of referees' decisions.
Ferguson feels Mourinho does not have a leg to stand on in terms of getting favourable decisions and that they kick up a fuss when things do not go their way.
"All the managers seem to be coming out with little things," joked Ferguson. "I know Jose has come out and said things this week but we expected that.
"He is the last person who should be talking about referees. His football club have been involved with so many things with referees over the last few years.
"It seems to me when anything goes against Chelsea or they don't get their own way, someone has a go at the referee.
"It is an incredible club. Maybe he should button his lip, at least for the rest of the season!"

You don't have much of a sense of humor do you? That wasn't funny.
Mourinho is great because he says what he thinks and makes no apology for it. And by the way, he's RIGHT about this. The argument the other fans make about "just keep your mouth shut" is completely ridiculous because you KNOW the only reason you say that is because he's managing Chelsea. If he managed your team you would love him, just like INFESTA said. Hypocrites I tell ya!
ShearerM4 02-03-2007, 06:51:PM He is right most of the time... but some instances, like when he has a go at other teams for cheating or playing too defensive, there's only one person being a hypocrite.
