Hi everyone. I need help please. I installed the demo and it gives me the following error...Failed to initialize Windows Multimedia Timer, Try re-running. Then when I do it again it says The program has performed and illegal operation. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Sorry man, I don't have the answer to your question b/c I am also having the same problem! What's weird is other people have this problem too. It actually has something to do with kernel32.dll, I have done the following to try and fix this problem:

1. Extracted the original copy (Failed)
2. Re-installed Windows 98 (Failed)
3. Copied a clean one over the bad one using Ms-Dos (Failed)
4. Re-installed the Demo (Failed)
5. Deleted Registry File and Uninstalled the demo and re-installed it (Failed)

So I do not know what to do. Then this got me thinking, NHL 2001 works fine on my computer and so does FIFA 2000. If I guess right, the Kernel32.dll will not be used in playing the game using a cd and installing the maximum files on the computer for the real version.

Anyone else have this problem and can help?

First of all download the demo again.
It seems like from what you say that some file is missing.
So first try to download the demo again.
Don't forget to remove all(!!) files from the demo before you install the 'new'one!

Maybe you could try removing the kernel32.dll file and see what happens then...

I had the same problem and I just opened the program file in the start menu. Simply, but it worked for me!

I have the same problem, but with the real game. The tech support man couldn't help me. I hope someone out there can.
