Pierre v Hooydonk has left Benfica!

Unbelievable, he was to expensive for Benfica is the statement.
But the good news is that he will go back to Holland, he's going to play for Feyenoord for the next years. I'm an Ajaxfan of course but it's great to have v Hooydonk back in the Dutch KPN league. And for Benfica: their loss that's for damn sure :p

hmmmm, no doubt Pierre got offered more money by PSV that Benfica so he's off to yet another club - greedy S.O.B. that Mr. Hooijdonk :)

Do you wanna know why they let Pierre V. Hoidjonk go? Because they have a new star, the angolan striker Pedro Mantorras! He´s very young and i´m sure he´s much better than Pierre! I´m a FCPorto fan and i would prefer Mantorras as well! He´s great, he´s fast, great dribbling and kicking, you´ll hear about him soon!

Still, it was a big mistake. Mantorras and Van Hooijdonk are different players, so it would be good for them to have two different strikers... Besides, he was Benfica's top scorer, second overall on the portuguese league

However, what could YOU expect from a team who bought 12 new players, eight of them to the starting eleven, and pay huge salaries when everyone knows they are under financial crisis (don't ask me where they got the money to pay for all players)

Yes I know Alenitchev, v Hooydonk left with a quarrel cause Benfica still owed him money like salary he never got. He finally got it now, v Hooydonk was too expensive according to Benfica sources so they had to sell him.
I read that today in a footballmagazine here.
On top of that, the debts Benfica had were becoming too big as well, they couldn't keep Pierre. Anyway, he's back in Holland now so we can enjoy him again here. Pity the club he's going to play for sucks but hey, you can't win them all.

Van Hooijdonk is an excellent player when up to it but is very prone to tantrums as Celtic found out

Yes, they had Ronaldo, a brasilian Central Defender. He was not so bad in the first two years, but then he just drowned like the rest of the team. He played in the olympic team in Atlanta 1996, but had a serious injury and lost the chance to evolve.

Mantorras is the next Eusebio he can do everythings a skilled foward can do and he's only 19. If Benfica sell him to Barcelona next season for simao it will be a big mistake :mad: . Can't wait to see Benfica vs. Rea; Madrid next month. :D

I know this is a bit off the subject but could one of you portuguese guys tell me somewhere i could find some pictures of next seasons 1st Div kits. I have finished the rosters and have a few kits but im looking to make the rest now and can't find them anywhere.
